I didn't know any of the poses or positions either. But the way the classes went, I didn't need too really. The teacher explained everything very well, it wasn't fast paced so I could copy the moves, and they even went around checking and fixing our stances. Not only that, the locker rooms even have a place to freshen up after all that work!

Together, we share a planet, a space, and a breath of life. The purpose of this review is to celebrate you; that is, you are one of the most complex machines on the face of the planet. This is nothing to be prideful about, because as complex as our conscious self is, it is still subject to the moving of our seasons, the rotations of our planets, and the blinking of distant stars. Every day is one where we can be intentional in our movements through IT. Will we be Good? Will we do what is good for our self? Will we strive for intentional growth into maturity in our communities? My spouse and I have popped in and out of this place over the past few years. We love the staff, the leaders, and the community. There is life and vibrancy here. There is acceptance and warmth here. Sure, that warmth may be a yoga studio with the heat turned up to HOT, but it will be a delightful time, to a machine of light. Every drop of sweet will remind you of how we all are but a drop in an ocean; that is, we are distinctly unique but inseparably interwoven. Then Rest. Take that yoga breath. Let the instructors remind you to soak up the day's provided light. Find rhythm, focus, and familiar friends, here. Namaste. The light that is in me, recognizes the light that is within these walls.

We realized how little we could dance, so we signed up for their Simply Social 5-session dance class (even got a Groupon for it and saved some $). We have continued to have so much fun in the class, and it's been good for us to go out together (now that the kids are older) and do something just for us. We're almost done with the second 5-week session and look forward to starting the third! Many thanks to the patient, fun and engaging instructors for helping my two left feet appear far less awkward!

I toured and trained at numerous gyms in Kalamazoo before committing to West Hills in June 2019. I have absolutely NO REGRETS!!! Although I was skeptical/hesitant on the $50/month membership (used to paying around $30/month), it is money well spent. Unlike the other athletic clubs I was a member of, West Hills is above the rest in terms of: 1) Equipment is new, clean, maintained and above all, the free weights are organized and you never see any on the floor! 2) The trainers are always friendly and willing to help...even if you are not one of their clients. They will even help you when they are there on their personal days off. 3) Overall, the entire facility (locker rooms, showers, common areas) are well maintained. 4) I have yet to see one of the front desk staff playing on their cell phones. They greet all patrons. 5) Maybe it is due to the higher monthly membership fee, but the other gym members are civilized, respectful, polite, and responsible. Granted, it is a slightly older crowd, but some of them put the college kids to shame. I am not being paid by West Hills to write this review and I normally don't post Yelp reviews (maybe 4 in the past 3 years), but when you are passionate about an activity such as fitness and you have a place like West Hills to fulfill that need, you cannot help but tell everyone you know how great it is!!
