It's only 1 tram/bus stop away, so really convenient to get dinner here before the show. I almost couldn't find the place, because the yellow stripy awning covered up the sign on the bottom, and it didn't actually say Rolli in the small letters on top, just steakhouse. But it's right next to the Restaurant Metzgerhalle on the corner. Inside is kind of decorated in what I would call southern American style with red-and-white checkered tablecloths and old signs on the walls for Yuengling beer and Coca-Cola. There was one random sign for Haldengut Bier though--which was kind of out of place from all the American stuff. I got their special--steak made with American beef with a side of fries and 3 dipping sauces. The meat was REALLY good. Perfectly juicy and delicious, with a nice herb-y taste due to some green stuff and tiny red berries on top of the steak. The meat came out on a hot stone and I could cook it to my own liking. The fries were thick-cut and perfectly cooked with a nice taste of potato inside. Not too salty, like I sometimes find in other places. Dipping sauces were really rich and creamy, with great flavor. A curry one, a garlic one, and a pinkish one kind of like Thousand Island. 4 of us shared a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from California. My dinner cost SFr. 50 for the meal and sharing the wine. This was probably the best steak I've had in Switzerland so far in 3.5 years.

As an appetizer, our server suggested the entree portion of ravioli that we could all share. What a great choice! This ravioli is made fresh daily and it was incredible! For the main course, I chose the beef tenderloin which was accompanied by vegetables and a morel sauce. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and was so tender and flavorful. The sauce was a perfect companion along with the vegetables and potato gratin. Everything about this place warrants its 5-star rating. We felt welcomed and invited. This place have very cute garden-looking area inside and outside of the restaurant. I wish the weather was bit warmer for dinning in that area, but it was bit chilly. Food is amazing too!! I had Iberico and my bf had 'spring chicken' which was super tender/juicy. I don't know how else to describe it, just come by and try the food :-) Towards the end of our dinner, we realized some of the restaurants only accept cash- so we were worried that we might be washing the dishes rest of the night, but luckily THEY DO ACCEPT CREDIT CARD. While the line might be intimidating because there's always a long line out the door it goes really fast. You can also get a draft beer next-door, and there are plenty of tables in between the buildings that are shaded even on a hot day. The currywurst was actually my favorite, even though I generally do like bratwurst and overall I find the food here to be much less heavy than any place in Germany we went the year before. It's also a pretty fast meal so if you're in a rush, it is right in between some major tourist sites so you can grab a quick bite to keep going.
