I am new to Branson, my husband always used this facility to board his dog. When we went to pick up our dogs, they were at the groomers next door. (Who are amazing!) I paid and asked for their meds and leashes--they said they had no meds on file and can't find my leashes. Can you go back and look? Don't know don't care. They didn't know even IF imy dog had gotten his meds the whole visit he was there! The front desk person sat on her ass and wouldn't get up to find our things or someone to help. We sat there waiting for someone to do something --the place was empty, one person at the desk just sitting there, another slowly mopping the hall. We asked again and she said "Well I pushed the button!" Apparently that would summon someone to help us and she had no problem making us sit and wait. We still had no help getting our things. Finally we went to the groomers and THEIR staff went back and found my things right away. I called the CS manager to let her know my concerns (I used to manage a medical office--I would want to know! ) and she didn't care either. OMG NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

This was the first time I had been taking my puppy to the vet. They were very good with her and we're on top of all her vaccinations she needed, except for kennel cough Vaccine. I don't know what happened there, but they said she never received it. The staff is very, very friendly and knew what they're doing. And we've never had to wait for a long time. we came in for a rabies vaccine and were immediately offered temats after tests without the tech even looking at her chart first too see if she even needed the tests yet. it felt like a salesman with a bad selling job. if my dog needed the test I would for sure get it for her . but all I asked was when was her last heart worm test. they couldn't answer. then I asked for all her records that were transferred in from her previous vet and I am missing her years of history. looking for a new vet who is more concerned with our baby then selling me vaccines and blood tests that she might not need yet. This vets office got us in and took care of my baby when it was his time to go. They did a great job with everything. BUT I got up when they took him back to go get my ink pad and some paper to make prints of his feet for a tattoo and a keepsake for our girls. They said no we're going to make you a print of both front paws and his nose. Why then do I have one paw print and not the other and no nose print? It was clearly stated on the paperwork and he was cremated so now there is no way to get that back. The girl who checked me out offered to make a copy of the one paw print so I could have two but how does that help? Now my baby is gone and so is my chance to remember him the way I was prepared to do so on my own until they assured me they would do it. read more

I brought my cat in for urinalysis, a stool sample, and medication In January of this year. They wouldn't treat my cat until I paid in full, which is fine, I understand. I paid the $268 or what not and went on my way. They even said that I had a $20 credit on my account later because I was overcharged at the time. Flash forward to May of this year, and I'm receiving a bill in the mail. I called to fix the mistake, and they are saying that I ordered another urinalysis for my cat in March. I haven't stepped foot in the building since early February. The ladies on the phone were rude and unhelpful. I highly suggest going somewhere else. read more

They also didn't follow our wishes and took it upon themselves to treat my dog without notifying us of the method before hand. We are visiting a friend in Branson and my little Havanese began having seizures last night. We are in transition as we are moving to Arizona from Wisconsin and Snickers has never had an issue like this. I FREAKED out seeing my "best friend" like this. Branson Vet Hospital opened their arms to us and I rushed him over. The technicians were so sympathetic and thorough in their questions. We stayed in the car as they lovingly took him to see the vet. After examination they came out explaining the necessity to take blood to diagnose. They went into details about the financial charges (the seizures had stopped) but it takes time to figure things out and we released them to do the tests. We are in process but I wanted to write a review and thank the wonderful two girls that communicated so beautifully to me. One is Heather and I'm sorry I missed the first girls name. Terrible Vet, will never go back. During our last well visit with Julie L. King I observed her pull a dirty flea comb out of a drawer and comb my cat. I didn't think alot about it at the time. My cat had flaky dandruff but no fleas. She is on monthly flea treatment. Three weeks later my cat breaks out with bald patches in her fur and I have a ringworm spot as well. I immediately remember the dirty flea comb. Called the clinic and they refused to test a flaky skin sample I collected and wanted me to go in fo another visit and pay for a ringworm test as well. They refused to take responsibility for giving my cat a disease. read more

I will never go back again!! My dogs had their checkup for the year 5 months ago and at that time one of the dogs rabies shot was not due for another 5 months so they would not give it to him. I was told just to call and make an apt closer to time and they would give him the booster. So, I did just that. I made the apt for the shot only, they ask if it was ok for another dr to give the shot, I said it did not matter to me. So today I go in for the booster shot. The doctor comes in and says she needs to examine him. I said, no, he had his exam for the year already he just needs the booster shot. She said she needed to look him over before giving him the shot since another dr did the exam (I guess they do not trust each other's exam capabilities). Then she stated "it is just a BONUS for you". So she spends 15 seconds poking him and looked in his ears and said he was fine. Then, gave him the shot. After waiting almost 20 minutes at the desk "for the paperwork", they gave me the price if $99.00!!!! What the heck!!! I explained again at the desk the exam was not needed or ask for, and they said it was mandatory. They RIP PEOPLE OFF!!!!! There is no reason to treat their customers this way, I will not be back!!! read more

They give out false information and then don't follow through with what was told in a paid visit. Was told by our vet that as long as my dog was on heartworm medication consistently (once per month) that she could continue to receive the medication without more tests. Now, as her prescription is running out, they are making up a new rule to require more tests and pay more money- directly contradicting what I was told. They are a scam, and have horrible customer service. Steer clear!! read more

I apologize for the long review, but I just finished about a year of taking my puppy to this vet and I have several issues/warnings for anyone considering using this vet. I was recommended this vet by a friend of mine when I got my puppy last January because of their convenient puppy plan. They have a plan where you pay $21 a month and it includes all of the necessary things for a new puppy including their first appointments, shots, spay/neuter, and a few other things we didn't do that are just add-ons. I was under the impression that you are also supposed to get discounts on their online pharmacy, though I never received this benefit or was told how to take advantage. I was really happy with this when we took him to his first appointments as we don't have a bunch of extra money all the time so monthly payments made it easier and he got everything he needed. Most of the people with his first appointments were great except for one vet tech. She acted as though she had never approached a nervous dog though I told her before my puppy was nervous around new people. She backed him into a corner and bent over him where he was really scared and yelping very loudly. She then acted as though it was something we were doing wrong, but we brushed it off. We didn't have any other problems until we got him boarded there. I would not recommend boarding a dog here. We thought it would be nice for his first experience being boarded as he was familiar with the place and the people and it was more inexpensive than many other dog hotels. We gave him a bath and made sure he was all ready to go the day before, and when I picked him up after his 3-4 day stay he smelled as though he had been rolling in pee and poop all day, was shaking and frantically running around low to the ground, and when I took him to pee before getting into the car he peed for over a full minute as though he had not been taken out in an unacceptable amount of time. He is normally very calm and it took him hours to quit shaking and calm down and start acting like himself again. I again can not express how bad he smelled after we picked him up. My car smelled like him still the next day and you could smell him from across the room. Completely unacceptable. Resolving the cancellation of the puppy plan contract at the end of this year was ridiculous as well. You have to call or visit to cancel before the year is up or you will be automatically signed up for another year of payments, which we were not going to continue using this vet. When I called the girl was very confused and told me that I would be done making payments then they charged my again the next month. When I called after I was charged I was told that they aren't sure why she told me that which is frustrating and they kept telling me I would speak to a manager and that they would call me back, and after I week I had to call again to be told a manager would call me back again. When I received a call back it was still not from a manager so I gave up. I understand that miscommunications can occur but it was ridiculous and they kept repeating the same things to me after I told them I was aware and my main issue was being told I would not be charged then getting charged anyway. Nothing was accomplished other than a lot of frustration and reassurance of my decision to discontinue using this vet at any point in the future. I would say if you are planning to use this vet I would recommend being very cautious of some of the vet techs (you will probably know which one was unpleasant to us as she overall just has an unpleasant attitude) and NEVER board your dog here unless maybe it is a one night stay or you have absolutely no other choice. Very disappointed as I actually liked the vet that took care of our dog and how well they answered our questions as first time dog owners on our own. read more

Don't bring your pet here - they are too busy for you. If you have time to schedule an appointment several weeks out you will be fine but if your pet gets sick and needs to be seen right away, you're out of luck - they will be too busy and will refer you to a pet hospital in Springfield. Or, they might let you drop your pet off and leave it there all day for the Vet to look at when he gets a few minutes. Then someone else will tell you what the Vet did, you will not be able to talk to the Vet. He's too busy. Our pets deserve better care than this! read more

We were traveling & brought our precious small dog with us. After he woke up with seizures and a cough we took him in. We were able to drop him off for observation and pick him up the same day with medications and lots of care. They even called a few days later to make certain he was okay! Such great care. The staff was friendly and helpful in getting first round puppy pack, my puppy didn't even notice the shot. I did have to wait a little while in the office but not over 30 minutes. I did make an appointment for another dog and got an appointment the same day. Prices are a little high but everything is higher now. read more

The good news.. they gave us an emergency appointment last Saturday and they treated our cat for dehydration and also gave antibiotic for a mysterious infection with 105 temperature. The bad news.. after communicating my suspicions that our cat had Bobcat Fever (this had been shared multiple times; in writing when requesting appointment and also brought up more than once during the consultation with the vet assistant and the vet. The vet did not take our concerns seriously and did not follow through with a blood test. Our cat's symptoms were: unexplained lethargy, 3rd eye exposure, extreme fever, dehydration and not eating.. all major signs that point to Bobcat Fever.. the only symptom not present yet.. jaundice. Bobcat Fever is rampant this year in the Branson/midwest region. I feel the clinic/vet were negligent not providing a more thorough examination of our pet with tests. Do they understand the critical nature of this disease and how it is imperative to begin treatment at the earliest sign of symptoms? Of course we paid out bill and ignored the vet and took our pet to the emergency clinic in Springfield and they confirmed that our pet has Bobcat Fever with a simple blood test.. results in 15 minutes. The Springfield clinic personnel we talked to agreed that the dismissive attitude was unprofessional and negligent considering time was of the essence in order to save our cat's life and that this disease is taking hold everywhere. Although I appreciated the timely way we were given an appointment, we are shocked and very very sad and disappointed and mad that our cat's life was put in danger with the lack of urgency and treatment. I have voiced my complaint and concerns with someone answering the phone. She said she would "take note of it" and pass along the experience to the office manager. I don't want a casual response here.. I would like a phone call to discuss this. I also agree with many others here that the room was dirty and grimy on several surfaces, but in light of what we are dealing with now to save our pet's life... the dirty room is the least of our concerns. Edit on 5/16/19 Your canned response is trite and insincere. (go to google to see the hospital's response to my review) We had to put our cat to sleep and his death was HORRIBLE. If you say your vet has 50 years of experience and had dealt with the disease this year, then he should have ran a blood test and recognized the urgency and severity of the situation. Do you not provide blood tests in house at your "hospital"? I also believe it is awful that you do not carry the prescribed meds for Bobcat fever in your "hospital"; thank you for admitting that much so the public knows. ANYONE OUT THERE IS READING THIS..AND YOU SUSPECT YOUR CAT HAS THIS DISEASE DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS "HOSPITAL". Taking credit for sending our cat to Springfield so you can save face in your response is outrageous. His condition did worsen throughout the next day.. thus the long and stressful trip, we sure didn't need your advice there. if your vet had provided the proper exam and blood test.. we would have taken him immediately and not wasted one second. The vet did not feel there was cause for alarm as he stated "in his professional opinion" that Ty most likely had a scabbed over wound that was infected, however there wasn't a blemish on our boy. The vet would have known that wasn't the case had he inspected him thoroughly. With 50 years experience .. I would expect more than a "shot in the dark" diagnosis from such a distinguished physician; shame on you for trying to cover your tracks now. You are supposed to be the experts.. we trusted you and you let us down. Disappointment, as you state, doesn't even begin to cover it. We will be returning your call Megan. We were too busy grieving and crying over the loss of our boy to answer the phone and your chirpy, happy voicemail was completely inappropriate considering the nature of the call. If Yelp let you do 0 stars this place would definitely get 0!!!! I just boarded my dogs for a week and a half with this vet clinic. We spent $550.00 and when we picked them up they were in pathetic shape. One had poop from her bottom all the way up to her neck! It had obviously been there a while. She smelled awful!! And she had tints of blood in her urine. The other one,who is blind, had a scab on her nose where apparently they let her run into something. Her insulin bottle was completely empty. She was squinting her left eye. She has never done that before. Also, the one was to have blood work to get her teeth cleaned which they said they did not have time to do the cleaning but would go ahead and do the blood work and the vet would call the next day. The vet NEVER, in a week and a half, called me! Since we picked them up the bigger one screams which she has never done and the little acts scared continuously. Also the groomer that is affiliated with this clinic was suppose to groom the little one. She had not been trimmed or anything. And they were suppose to be bathed the morning of the day we picked them up. They were not. They said they did not have time. This is pathetic service!! Word of mouth is the best advertising and I will never have anything good to say about this clinic and I will NEVER recommend them and will NEVER use them again!!! read more

Horrible vet clinic. I took my service dog there to be boarded for a little over a week and when I came to pick her up it was like I was given a different dog. She was the friendliest dog I'd ever had and now she seems scared of everything, her face droops like she's had a stroke, and now she's having seizures which are making her aggressive. I've had my dog for 7 years and she means the world to me. She began to have the seizures/aggressive spells so I took her back to have them monitor her. It was about three days and I came to pick her up again, the vet saying, to my face, that she'd 'had no aggressive spells and she'd been good'. I had her home no more than an hour and a half and she had another spell. Now she's had a total of three after being brought home from the vet. I took her there to be boarded for a short time and now I'm having to put her to sleep. If you love your pets I wouldn't take them here. read more

Dr. Ewert is horrible. He keep calling my female cat a "he" even after correcting him several times, which can only lead me to believe he's not listening to me at all and probably never even gave her an examination. My cat died while in their care and the explanation was "He had a heart attack." He?? Heart attack?? With no necropsy how could he possibly know SHE had a heart attack? She had no indications of any heart related problems at that time or previously. I told them I would be picking her up for a home burial, which is the way I handled all the others and they had already incinerated her. I figure she died at their hand or by negligence and by incinerating her there would be no proof. Also, their accounting practices are really bad. Not only are they extremely expensive, their accounting is awful, so check it then and there, they'll argue and gripe at you if you question it at a later time. read more

I took my 12 week old puppy to this vet clinic at 7:30 am on Thursday, Nov 10th with vomiting, lethargy, and a fever. Puppy had 2 sets of vaccinations at a different clinic and was due for 3rd set the next week. I requested a Parvo test be done. I was called at work later and told the puppy tested positive for parvo and they would begin treatment immediately. I gave my credit card info over the phone to start treatment ($250) and asked what the length of time the puppy would need to stay at clinic for treatment. They did say it varied, but could be anywhere from 3 to 4 days. I called the clninc several times throughout the day on Thurs and Fri and it was reported that the puppy was doing great, but was on IV fluids and antibiotics. I was out of town, but called on Saturday at 11:20 am to check on him again and was told I had until 12:00 pm to pick up the puppy because the clinic was closing for the weekend. I asked if the dog was better and was told he was and they would check on the medications he needed to be sent home with. My husband and 3 small children arrived at noon to pick up the dog and 2 vet techs were still at the clinic, one was holding the puppy. He was covered in vomit and feces, drooling from the mouth, and didn't have enough energy to stand or even lift his head. They told my husband the puppy needed to be rushed to the emergency vet clinic in Springfield, MO (45 minutes away)or he would not live. My husband questioned them, because it was told to me over the phone that the puppy was ready for release and was doing fine. The vet techs seemed confused and one of them apologized and decided they must have told me about the wrong puppy. We have a 6 month old baby that requires breast milk or formula to eat and my husband was not prepared to rush a dying puppy to an emergency clinic 45 minutes away. So...he had to go home to grab what he needed while the puppy continued to vomit and diarrhea all over our vehicle. The emergency clinic admitted him and were able to keep him on IV medications for the next 2 days and he made a full recovery. My complaint the the Branson Veterinary Clinic is that if they knew they were going to only treat my dog for 2.5 days and then kick him out the door whether he was better or not, they should have let us know. Then we could have made the decision to start treatment at a facility that could START and FINISH treatment. I have never seen any medical facility kick out a dying animal in the middle of treatment because they were closing up for the weekend. I have used many vet offices, all of which have procedures in place to continue treatment on sick animals after hours. Because we were starting all over at the emergency vet clinic, our total bill for just their office was $600. The Branson Vet hospital have called me repeatedly to try to make me pay for the remainder of my bill, which is approximately another $250. I told their office manager that I refuse to pay additional fees when the treatment was never finished, and I had to start all over at another facility. The entire process seemed very inhumane. If there had not been an after-hours clinic, I guess our puppy would have just died. read more
