This is the third or fourth job he has done for me. Always dependable, and I appreciate that! Lynne Conner read more

David was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very thorough with his communication, from the scheduling, to his ETA, to the electrical issues we had and what needed to be done. He fixed everything that he could and let us know what was not covered under our warranty. He was extremely informative, and knowledgable. Knowledge: 10 out of 10. Communication 10. Service 10. Absolutely Hilarious 10 If you need an electrician, hire this guy! Thanks, again, David! read more

Power went out in part of the house, couldn't figure out what was going on. Wife is pregnant and couldn't go long without AC. Dave came out within 45 minutes of reaching out and not only fixed our issues but gave recommendations and advice on how to avoid issues going forward and what to expect if something happens. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone who is having electrical issues and wants it handled asap. read more

Our ceiling fan stopped working and I had to put in a service request through our home warranty Old republic. I got a call in less than an hour of putting in the request from Dave and scheduled an appointment with us. He was able to fix the fan and light on the first visit. He found out right away that it was wiring issues. Excellent job! Thank you Dave and Brannan Electric. read more

The electricity to our hot water heater was dead, called Dave at 12:30pm on the Friday of a holiday weekend, he at our house in 20 minutes. He fixed it, waited to confirm it was working, explained and showed us what he was doing and then called that night to confirm all was well. Absolutely recommend and will call again. Price was very reasonable for above average service. read more

I needed a 15 AMP breaker replaced because it has been switching off and finally gave out completely. I called a Yelp "sponsored" electrician on a Sunday and they told me they would get back to me Monday but they left me hanging. I called Brannan on a Tuesday and he came out within a few hours, was completely up front about pricing and gave me lots of tips to improve performance and safety of my breaker and breaker box. He was a hoot! Funny and fast! He even called the next day to make sure everything was working well. Great service! read more

Me knowing some what about electrical David was able to help me solve an electrical issue on a Sunday morning to fix my A/C outlet which was needed for this hot weekend at no cost he even called back to see if everything worked out. We had some issues with our electrical box affecting our air conditioning and dryer. Had been working with another company for over 2 weeks with no resolution. Called Dave Brannan per the advice of my warranty co....Dave was there within a couple of hours. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to get my family cool with us having over 100 degree weather the last few days. He walked me through the issues and the fixes he was making and took time to do the job right, and he completed the whole job within a few hours (even running to Home Depot for parts)!! I HIGHLY recommend Brannan Electric for your electrical needs. read more

Last week a local AC company fried our breaker box and wished to charge us an exorbitant fee for their mistake. I quickly turned to Brannan Electric. David was able to modify his day's schedule to fix the breaker within an hour at a fraction of the cost. Thanks Brannan Electric for A+ service, we were not left to swelter in the day's forecasted 97 degree heat. Beyond that, David recommended a much better, reasonably priced AC company so we wouldn't have to deal with incompetent AC techs anymore. Thanks Brannan Electric. read more

Honest electrician! He was assigned to me from my home warranty company to come fix a non functioning outlet, and when he called to make the appointment, he guided me through a simple potential fix, and it worked!! Now the outlets work, and he never even came to my home. He didn't have to help me for free on the phone, but he did, because he has integrity, and believes in Khama. I'll hire him next time for sure. Thanks again! read more

David from Brannan Electric is fast, effient and hilarious. He went above and beyond while telling us great stories. I would recommend him to my own mother. Hire this guy for all of your electrical needs read more

I've used David's services twice now and have been highly satisfied with the work that he's done. For the first visit, he was dispatched via my home warranty plan (Old Republic) to fix a bad wire in our back porch light. In the process of reinstalling the porch light, the fixture shorted out from water that had collected from an improper installation from the previous house owners. While he couldn't fix it himself on the warranty call, he gave my boyfriend precise instructions on how to get the fixture exchanged for free, while also offering to give instructions over the phone when it came time to install the new fixture. Coincidentally the following week we had an insulation company give an estimate on an insulation upgrade for our home. Before they could complete their work, they needed certification that the knob and tube wiring hardware in the attic was inactive. Sure enough, they recommended David of Brannan Electric to come and inspect our attic for any suspicious wiring, mentioning that he is willing to work on older homes, something that not all electricians do. We had David out again, who crawled through our minimal attic space, checking for amateur wire splices and archaic wiring that could pose a fire hazard. After both visits, he followed up with a phone call to make sure things were working properly, and he even asked about our satisfaction with the new insulation. I won't hesitate to have David out again if I am in need of an electrician. read more

So, I'm actually a little embarrassed to write this review--and you'll understand why in just a minute. On a Sunday, the lights and fan in the bathroom stopped working. First, of course, I tried resetting the circuit breaker. That was the extent of my electrical fix-it know-how. I hopped on Angie's list and called Brannan Electric because the profile said they welcome small jobs. (I was really hoping this was a small job!) Since it was Sunday, I had no desire to call an electrician out, but figured I'd set up an appointment for a weekday as soon as possible. David called me back about 5 minutes after I left the voicemail. He was friendly and personable. He instructed me to go hit the "reset" button on the GFCI outlet in the bathroom. This, of course, fixed the problem instantly. He didn't set up an expensive house call, he didn't expect anything in return (except for asking me to call him if I needed an electrician in the future!)... Seriously, now I know better...but how often does a service provider call back on a Sunday AND also tell you how to fix the issue yourself AND not charge you for a service call? David gets karma points for this. Major karma points. read more

This guy drives unsafe. He flew through a stop sign in front of traffic. We had to slam on our brakes. He had drove right through the stop across Auburn to the other street across the road. No respect for others. My groceries flew everywhere. I'm glad my kids weren't in the car. read more

Dave was very knowledgeable and provide me the information that was needed so I could do part of the work myself. His quote "Save your money". The work it did was quick and he even took the time to clean up some items that was not caused by him. I would strongly recommend Brannan Electric for your small jobs. read more

We had a problem removing a very old lightbulb from our bathroom (a part of the lightbulb got stuck and broke off) and called Dave Brannan to see if he would be able to fix it. He saved us money by talking through how he would recommend fixing it (using WD40 and needle nose pliers) and voila, we were able to do it ourselves. Thanks to him for being honest, helpful and empowering us to take on this small job ourselves. We would certainly call him for bigger electric jobs we need in the future. read more

I won't be using Brannan again. Dave will be a great electrician for some, but not for me, nor could I recommend him to friends or family. He did some work for me last year. He got the job done, and I appreciate that. What I didn't know when I hired him was that I would be his assistant for the almost 3 hours he was there. He claimed he gave me a break on the price for helping him. I claim he also spent time repeatedly calling Home Depot, then flirting with the woman on the phone ("I want to date your voice") so that he could tell me what the pricing was on some lightbulb, which was not necessary and something I was fully capable of looking into myself. In the meantime, I was on my way out of town that evening and had to leave late because I couldn't get anything done while he was here. He is friendly. He will give you recipes and restaurant tips. But he leans to the right and I did NOT appreciate him using a derogatory in reference to gays nor did I want to go see his political bumper sticker on his truck... which he insisted I do. Also, while he was very friendly with me, he pulled major attitude on a phone call with a potential customer, only to make remarks about the man's lack of English skills once they hung up. He tried to give the guy some advice over the phone, but it was loaded with unnecessary attitude. Had we been at his place of work, I would have left. If my guy had been at the house, he would have told Dave to leave. But I was home alone at the time, getting ready to go out of town, and my electrical issues were in his hands. I needed the issues resolved that day and didn't have a back-up plan. I put on a friendly face and tried my best not to stew over some of his commentary. Dave may be a good electrician, but he's not for everyone. I will be hiring someone else for the other projects I had in mind. read more

I was out of town for a month when the wind broke a large branch off my tree on a Friday night, which took down the power line. SMUD came that same night and rolled up the wire, informing me that they could not put it back up until the repair of the masthead had been permitted, repaired, and inspected by the City. Of course it happened on a weekend! I got Dave Brannan's name from Angie's List and he had tons of very positive reviews from customers. He called me within 30 minutes of my call on a Saturday morning and went out to check on the damage the same day. He gave me an estimate that was reasonable then proceeded to pull the permit, fix the beast, and bird dog the City permits department until they actually came out to inspect and approve it. Had it not been for him bird dogging this job, it could have taken weeks to get my power back. He made it his business to keep checking with the City to make sure the inspection was scheduled and actually done. He did his part and went the extra mile to make sure others did what was required of them to complete the work and get my power back on. Dave kept me informed so, even though I was 3000 miles away, I knew what was going on. He helped out in all kinds of ways that made things easier for me. The check I wrote after all that was the exact amount he'd quoted me. I have dealt with all kinds of bad contractors over the years. This guy is the guy you want. He came up with solutions to potential problems related to my older equipment that was safe but not up to code. Because of him I didn't end up having to replace a bunch of equipment that still worked. I've sought his advice subsequently about some other electrical problems and never had any inkling that he was anything but fair and truthful. Based on my experience with Brannan Electric, I sure wouldn't put much stock in the bad review he got from Kelli R. He's no con-artist and sure as heck not lazy. He could have taken advantage of me in my time of need because it would have been easy with me out of town. I was warned that some electricians would do that, but he didn't. This guy's the wheat not the chaff. read more

We had a electrical problem after installing a new electrical outlet and called Dave. I am so dissatisfied and frankly disgusted by the customer service here. I feel punked and ripped off, and while we never ended up getting our service, there was a lot of stress only to have the electrician rudely leave. My boyfriend's dad made an appointment for 10-11 AM the other day. Left my bedroom door open and listened for the door knock with the dog (who is always listening for the door), and somehow we missed the appointment. I was baffled as to how I missed the door knocking. He called my bf's dad and claimed to have knocked for 15 minutes. This simply isn't true. The dog would have heard something if he had knocked more than even once. So we rescheduled for the next day. He shows up, storms in for the check, is clearly angry that the check was for one trip and not two (I didn't handle the check, just being there to answer the door), and leaves before we have a chance to try to pay him the full amount. As he leaves he says he'll just bill the company. So, we made two appointments with this guy and got absolutely nothing done! And he made the money for both appointments without doing anything other than driving to the house. I will never ever go to this company for any reason. Terrible customer service, and a waste of time and worry. Good for him for getting paid regardless. Blech. read more

Highly recommend. Used Mr. Brannan twice in the last month for a breaker replacement and a dishwasher that wasn't receiving power. Good guy, with lots of good referrals for other services. Turns out the dishwasher itself was the problem but he checked out all the outlets in the area and made sure things were safe since the dishwasher seemed to be shorting out at the point of its hardwire connection (which he thankfully disconnected). He's a good guy. read more

Dave came out to diagnose an electrical problem in my rental property. After hearing the problem, he knew immediately what to check. Once again Brannan Electric save the day at my home--he replaced a bad switch to the front patio lights AND installed a timer while he was at it, and he did it all for an incredibly reasonable price in comparison to a quote I received several years ago from another for a timer. I've used Brannan Electric several times in the past, and Dave has always been reliable and quickly fixed my problem. In my experience, many in the home repair industry are very unreliable (they make appointments then don't show up--or call), and when they do show up charge excessive fees for poor quality work. Not Dave. If he suspects your problem is something you can fix on your own, he'll walk you through it on the phone for no charge. Who does that nowadays?! Great old fashioned service by a knowledgeable electrician. read more

The owner of the company claimed to be in business for 25+ years. All we needed was a ceiling fan installed for my senior parents. This guy shows up late, spends 45 minutes in the bedroom, spreads out the parts and pieces to the fan, literally in all for corners of the room, then comes out and says he cant do the job. He attempts to refer us to his "30 something young buck" buddy, because apparently one man can't hang a ceiling fan without his team getting in the attic......... This man is untruthful, lazy and attempted to swindle my aging parents. He is an old con-artist working with a young group of guys, all he does is make a percentage off of the referral. HIRE WITH CAUTION! read more

Look no further... this is the electrician you are looking for! After a break-in where the burglar ripped out the Air Conditioner fuse box in an attempt to stop the house alarm (unsuccessfully), I was without AC. I received David's name and number from friends who were pleased with his service in the past. From there, my day just got better. I contacted David and he answered his phone right away. Though he was booked for the day, he recognized the priority of the AC issue, due to the sweltering summer heat, and made himself available that afternoon. He had the AC working within 5 minutes of being onsite. While I had him onsite, he also resolved power issues on an outlet in the basement (unexpected GFCI connection and bad breaker) and an outlet in the loft. On top of that, he also fixed the drive-way lights while I was preparing to pay him! All of this was resolved in under an hour! Not only is David an exceptional electrician, he is a wonderful guy! He was friendly, personable, and informative and we had a wonderful conversation while he was onsite. I could not be more pleased with the service and personal care I received. I highly recommend Brannan Electric for all your electrical needs. I'm so pleased, I am already planning some upgrades that will bring him back onsite. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Dave came by and installed an outdoor electrical outlet on my home. He was punctual, amicable, and fortunately dog friendly. I had asked him about wiring a security system through my attic (with a vaulted ceiling), and he referred me to a friend of his - after further inquiry, this is because the friend is of smaller stature and could better maneuver in attics. I appreciated the referral. For the outlet, he got the job done quickly for the quoted price, and he even checked out some random wires sticking out of my house for no additional charge. I definitely recommend calling Dave for electrical needs! read more

Dave was amazing and I would recommend him for all your electrician needs. He is very personable and extremely competent to take care of your electronic home repairs. David came out as part of a home warranty call! He was fabulous! He was able to reassure me that the problem was not a wiring problem but a light fixture issue -- very relieved that my house wasn't going to catch on fire. Also, took the time to fix the light fixture at no additional charge -- pieces of an old bulb had broken off and it took some fighting with it to get it out. David would not give up until he won the battle. He was also nice enough to check some other outlets for me and saved me a couple of hundred dollars on a new light fixture when the old one is working now just fine! Would definitely use him if you are in his area!!!! read more
