The waitress there was doing a great job managing her tables. I think she was the only one there, and she looked like she was about 16 years old. She was working hard! We ordered fried pickles, French onion soup, potato skins, a chicken caesar wrap and a burger. The fried pickles with the dipping sauce were delicious! The potato skins were not very good. They seemed frozen and then just heated up. The French onion soup was very tasty. My husband enjoyed his burger. However, my chicken caesar wrap had no caesar dressing on it , and so it had no flavor at all. The sweet potato fries that came with it were okay. I should have just asked for some dressing on the side. The waiter said that the main chef was not there that night, so that could explain some of the lackluster food. Since the main chef was out, they were not offering any food from the Entree section of the menu.

I've been here hundreds of times over the years, but I stopped in recently to grab a snack, use the bathroom, and get some gas for a little adventure up to Spruce Knob. FYI: This is one of the only places in the area to get gas that is usually open when you need it. Thank you because I forget to get gas in Elkins and everyone else was closed. Yikes! Every time I am here I enjoy eating their food whether from the store or the restaurant up stairs, I love looking around at all the cool stuff they have for sale, I am always buying this or that, and I truly enjoy sparking up a convo with one of the owners or employees. The grocery section is pretty small but had everything I was looking for - sliced bread, fruit, vegetables, and milk. The price is roughly 2 times what you would expect to pay at Food Lion though - $5 for half a gallon of milk, $5 for a loaf of bread, etc. There's also an assortment of souvenirs if you're interested in that kind of thing, including a mini Build a Bear type machine (where you stuff the animal with cotton and pick out an outfit). Although we didn't go fishing at Massanutten, we did hear that you can buy fishing bait, a fishing license, and rent fishing gear here too. Apparently their lakes are stocked 8 times a year so there's always fish!
