Early November this year I was traveling from Pittsburgh to Westchester when I noticed the engine light come on, on my 2014 Hyndai Sonata. After unsuccessful visit to Hyndai Plaza (they wouldn't work on me until mid/late Dec) I scanned the Internet, looked for car shops near me, and called Brandywine Auto Repair. After explaining my situation to Mr.Alex he invited told me he would check my car within a day even though he was busy and had other customers. Unlike the dealership, he diagnosed the issue immediately which was a beginning of the engine failure. He correctly pointed that it was something that was covered under my 100,000miles / 10yrs warranty and recommended that I try go to Hyndai dealership again. I found another Hyndai dealership, different from the first one, a but further out the area. Got the car towed there and Mr.Alex was right. The issue was a known factory defect and I got my engine replaced by Hyndai, under the warranty. Mr. Alex helped me and was there, professionally and humanly when I was in a very bad spot. Far from home with a broken car. He was very professional, and if I didn't, by accident found him I do not know what would happened. Mr Alex did not want to charge ma a single dollar for his help, advice and time. All he asked me was to give him a call once the things are sorted out to hear how it went. I lived in the EU and USA, visited many many car shops in my life, but I have never, ever experienced such a level of professionalism, service and honesty as with Brandywine Auto Repair. Is it possible to love your mechanic more than your husband? Or kids? Or really any other human? Al is like a real life amazon Echo Alexa. He is always there for you, answers all your questions, and never lets you down. Seriously this guy gives his industry such a good rap. I can't tell you the number of times he has saved me and my family. From flat tires to blown transmission. Flooding, dead batteries, all the way to simple oil changes. He is beyond fair in his prices and I always feel like I was treated like family. Honestly that is what he has become to me and my hubby and three kids. We all love Al. You will love Al. Having owned many cars, lived in a variety of locals- I can say that Al at Brandywine is the best I've seen. Great service, trustworthy, and quality repairs. He is always willing to get you in on a moments notice, go the extra mile ( like picking up and dropping off your car) and gives you honest advice. He's not always the best communicator as it takes me a few times to call him to find out the statues of the car, but this is easily overlooked. What can I say about Al and Brandywine Auto Repair other than I don't know what I would do without them! Al has saved me so many times I cannot count. He is always offerring to pick me up or drop me off so that I can get to work while he works on my car. His rates are so affordable that I will NEVER go anywhere else again. I finally had to write a review after I had a terrible experience with a tow truck and my insurance. Al had his guy come and tow me and save me the cost of the police impounding my car and then made sure I had a way home to my family. Car repairs never happen at a convenient time or in a convenient manner and I know I can always call Al in a frantic panic and he will first calm me down and then remedy the situation withouth robbing me blind :-) I could go on and on and could not say enough to show how grateful I am to have found him ! read more

My motorcycle acted up and was unable to be ridden after gassing up at the gas station next door. I knew what the problem was, but didn't have any tools. Boy did Al really help me out! I walked over to the shop, explained my situation, and he didn't hesitate to reach right into his tool box and give me what I needed. Going a step further, I was handed the supplies needed to connect the wires necessary to get my bike back in action- free of charge. The good lord brought me across the path of a helping hand. I brought my car to Brandywine Auto Repair, much in part to many good reviews I had read. It needed some work done, so I purchased all the parts myself. Brought it in. I called every few days to get an update. It always seemed like it was being worked on. I drive by the place everyday on my way to work and noticed it hadn't moved for days. So one day it wasn't there. I later found they moved my car to another place who specializes in my cars make, not cool. So two weeks are up and my borrowed rides were no longer available, and I needed my car back. I picked it up, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even touched. I was pretty annoyed. So a few months later my car has another problem that needs servicing. I figure I'd give this shop another try figuring it was fluke the first go. I purchase the parts needed for the repair. I make an appointment for Friday. So I figure they'd begin on Monday take maybe till Thursday, And my car would be in the shop about a week. So today is the two week mark of when I brought it in. So I've been calling almost everyday, and I'm always told it's being worked on, and gradually it became we don't have time to get to it today. So anyway, I stopped by there today. Found the mechanic and told him I was the owner of a car that was getting work done. He was nearly positive the work had been done, so I said GREAT! He was gonna show me what he did. We than couldn't find my key in the shambolic pile of keys all over. We found it and went outside popped the hood, only for him to say "Oh it wasn't this car I did. I haven't done this one" Argh!!! So the problems I see with this shop are as follows They have awful communication. Many days I've called and am told "We'll get right back to you." Even today I was given that same shitty response, and got no call back. Which is what prompted me to just show up there today, and to get my car. When you tell someone to bring a car in a certain day, I expect them to look at it that business day or the next. I also expect to be kept in the loop about ANYTHING going on with my car. I'm sure they are very knowledgeable mechanics, and would have done a bang up job on my car, if they would have gotten around to doing it. My advice to them would be to keep better communication with customers. And to be more considerate keeping someones car for weeks on end, and giving the run around on when it will be completed. I scored them a zero. They did zero to my car after having it a month total (both visits). They kept 0 communication with me, I only received details when I would call and literally hounding them on a daily basis. On the up side... I've paid 0 dollars to them. And I will keep it that way.
