This would have to be my favourite shoe shop of all times and I have told all my family, friends…read moreand the mums at school about this place as they offer up to 60% off the recommended retail prices that other stores charge - now that is 'guaranteed outlet savings' as their signs say. They stock the latest fashion shoes by brands like Therapy, Isabella Brown, Simona Ricci and Inniu - I've seen all these brands advertised in the latest girly mags such a Dolly, Shop till you drop and a few others. I have always bought good quality discounted shoes at this outlet and walked out satisfied with my purchase. I am in love with Planet Shoes and they sell them there CHEAP - last week I bought a pair of Planet sandals rrp on box was $109.95 and all I paid was $59.95 - WHAT A BARGAIN :) I also have bought Redback work boots and Julius Marlow dress shoes from there at a genuine outlet price, as well as those brands they also stock Dunlop and Raoul Merton and Wild Rhino. They have a huge range to suit just about everyone. They are located in Sumner Park with loads of parking space and I have always walked out with something. For an outlet store I have always found this store to be well presented with clear and easy to read price tags. If you are after good quality, latest fashion shoes that look great and at discounted prices, then this is where you need to go for your next pair of shoes or 5 :) the only cheap thing about these shoes is the price .

It's not in the most glamorous of places but it is more than it appears... just. They stock brands of shoes that you might not have heard of or may not be stocked in many retail shoe shops like planet earth shoes, Simona Ricci, Catwalk... I'd never heard of these brands either... except maybe in other outlet shops. The good thing is that these shoes are quality. They aren't just made up crappy brands... the planet earth shoes are very hardy, last a long time and don't cost you a million dollars! The prices are right here in this little outlet shop, the range is okay too, with many different shoes and shoe types to choose from including boots. Stick to what you know and like and you can't go wrong, definetely try them on before buying even if you know your size. Make sure though that you check the shoe because a friend of mine got all excited and bought a pair of boots only to realise the tags were sewn on backwards, the heel's glue was exposed and several threads were actually cut off or missing... so although you can get some cheap buys here, just make sure everything works, fits and doesn't fall off.

I've never seen so many Doc Martens anywhere else (my mum does not wear Doc Martens). They have plenty of other big brands like Birkenstock, Florsheim and Sketchers. There's a lot of great stuff here; quality shoes that look stylish and unique but also look like they would be comfortable. There's heaps of stuff for men as well, with the place seeming to be equally popular between the sexes.

I love that Shays Shoes has been around for so long and is still selling many of the brands that they sold back in the 70s. They still sell a big range range of Dr. Martens, Birkenstocks, and Hush Puppies. Maybe one of the reasons that Shays Shoes has been around for so long is that they manage to cater for everyone. Whether you're a youth wanting a pair of floral-patterned docs, a Mum wanting some Birkenstocks, or a Grandma after some comfy Hush Puppies, Shays has always been the place to find a treat for your feet. I bought Docs here a few years back and they were so helpful and lovely and I still enjoy browsing their new stock when I'm in the area. Some things are built to last and Shays Shoes is one of them.

I saw bright-coloured shoes…read morethrough the window and thought, "oh yes, this shop looks nice" and then had to wipe the gleeful shock from my face as soon as I stepped inside because if I have a weakness for anything (other than vintage luggage), it's shoes. Seasonal shoes and classic shoes and flat shoes and sandal shoes and shoes that are totally not practical and shoes that I would most certainly ruin with a day's wear. Zomp has everything. It's just wall-to-wall of shoes in the latest styles like wedges and chunky heels, but also classic black pumps, cute work-appropriate flats, and summery sandals. Zomp is a shoe lover's DREAM. There is literally a style to cater for every girl (sorry guys) and for every occasion. For a store along James Street, prices are also quite reasonable. The pumps and wedges that I kept picking up ranged between $130 to about $180, which is what you would pay at regular quality shoe stores like Wittner and Zu. Plus the styles are to die for, so I would gladly make that investment. The girls are also friendly and engage you in conversation, but you can also freely meander around the store to gaze at these wondrous shoes. If you're stuck for shoes for a particular occasion, visit Zomp and I almost guarantee you'll find the very thing you need or, at the very least, walk out with something you don't need, but absolutely love.

The shelves are stacked with skyscraper heels, wedges and flats just waiting to be paired with all of your outfits. The staff are super friendly and (seemingly) don't seem to mind traipsing upstairs to find shoes for your every whim. These guys have saved me from a sad shoe-less fate on numerous occasions. (Most recently, sending shoes from sydney just in time for christmas.) This attractive store coupled with an relaxed environment make shoe shopping a (very enjoyable) breeze. Good lookin' and affordable to boot I would definitely recommend sussing this place out.

For so long, Brisbane has…read morelanguished in footwear purgatory - shoes are either so cheap and nasty you get chronic foot odour just from standing near them, let alone putting them on; or so expensive you want to keep them in a glass case at home and just stare at them. So thank God for Novo which ticks all my boxes. Most shoes are around $79; they take note of the trends (my current faves are the sky-high, colour block, suede wedges in pink and red) and even the fash pack rate them (there's rarely an issue of a glossy mag that doesn't feature at least one pair of Novo pretties). And they don't mind if you mess up their shop either. I got a little giddy at the site of a heavily sequinned tote bag ($69.99) and left it all, including the cardboard inserts and plastic stand, sitting on top of a pair of shoes as I couldn't be bothered putting it away (naughty, I know). But the lovely manager just swept it all away with a smile, saying "lovely bag huh?" without even a hint of annoyance at the fact I'd messed up her shoe display. Novo, you are indeed the Patron Saint of heavenly high street shoe shops.

The tagline for this shop is 'Shoes with a Difference'. Well, that is certainly true in this case…read more I don't know if 'different' is everyone's cup of tea, but at least they are having a good go at it. Their male shoe range contains a lot of animal prints, bright patterns and obscure designs. Great place to go if you are looking for something loud and eye-catching. They remind me of that one guy at everyone's high school formal that showed up in the bright green suit and tie. Not really for me. I have a pet hate of places that keep stock on the floor, especially outside. Even if it is shoes, I like everything to be on a stand, it is a small thing but it really bugs me. On the plus side, they do have some relatively nice brown leather shoes and basic white tees. The shop is easy to find on Logan Road and there is usually plenty of staff if you need a hand.

I guess it depends on who you are and if you can pull off the loud, garish clothing that The Noticed Man specialises in. Let me illustrate the style of wears here. The mens shoes look like florsheim rip offs that have been turned into teenage art projects. The ladies shoes in my opinion, provide a cheap avenue for women watching to achieve a look that shadows ideas of rockabilly and psychobilly. Lots of synthetic printed heels with images of tattoo roses, bow and arrow love hearts, anchors, and jolly rogers. Some of the shoes were actually pretty unique: there were a great little pair of pumps that had emu feather designs printed all over them that quite took my fancy. The owners seemed overly suspicious of me wandering through their stocks and seemed relieved when I left. Maybe it's just me, but I like to feel welcome at whatever shop I go into, but maybe these guys could just tell that their goods weren't for me.
