For my first car, I provided a starter, but they insisted it was the wrong part and charged me over double the price for one of their own, leading to a $978 bill for a starter replacement. When I got the car back, the check engine light remained on, and my A/C, which was working perfectly before I dropped the car off, had stopped functioning. While they had my second car to fix a rattle, they quoted me $1,300 for a brake job and claimed I needed a new battery. When I went to pick up the vehicle, it wouldn't start. When I questioned the owner, Alex, about whether the car had been test-driven and asked to inspect the work before paying, the situation escalated rapidly. Instead of addressing my concerns, he refused to let me use a simple wrench to check the battery and, remarkably, called the police to issue me a criminal trespass warning. I was forced to pay the $1,330 bill just to be allowed to swap out my battery, only to find out from the auto parts store that my original battery was perfectly fine--it just needed a charge. To top it off, I was then threatened with having my car towed if I didn't remove it immediately, despite having no transportation. This shop lacks basic accountability and customer service. I spent roughly $2,400 in total and left with more issues than I started with. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for automotive repairs. So there is a warrenty for the repairs 1 year for the labor and two years on the parts . Both of the cars still had the check engine light on after the repairs and I had no way of asking . I was told I needed a battery that only needed a charge, was not helped unless I paid first. So I have two cars that still need repairs and have no recourse if the repairs done don't last. This just seems strange to me. To be given a No Trespass and no response to why the A/C not working in the Accura ad no way to bring either of the cars back for any warranty work? That is why I am posting NOW because I want others to be aware of what might happen to them when looking for a repair shop.

The gasket under the oil plug was bad and the plug was loose causing my car to be 2 quarts low on oil. Lone Star Lube diagnosed the problem, replaced the gasket and added 2 quarts of oil for FREE. This is normally where I go for oil changes and they went out of there way to help me when they didn't have to. I will definitely be back!

The inspector did not know the law or regulations regarding clear UV barrier on the front windshield. The inspector attempted to show me a placard from 2019, which he misinterpreted. I have had the same barrier film on my truck for 10 years. Per Texas Administrative Code, Title 37, Part 1, Rule 21.3. A clear (un-tinted) UV film is allowed anywhere on the front windshield without a medical exemption being required. The Inspector DID not know the law and was not professional about it. I have been a police officer for 27 + years (10 as a traffic officer) and would not place illegal items on my vehicle. I went to another place and passed inspection in 5 minutes. Beware of this place they do not know what they are doing. They have lost a long-time customer but i am sure they are used to it by now.

I had them add freon to the A/C and check the tire pressure. $137 latter the headlights were not touched, the cap to the line were the freon is added was missing and the car then over heated. 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan owner that had the typical rocker arms/lifters issue several years back…read morewhen the car was under warranty. Manifested as a rough idle and threw a P0303 Cyl 3 misfire finally. Dodge replaced it all under warranty but only that half of the engine. They wouldn't replace everything on the other half of the V when I asked even knowing eventually those would suffer the same fate. That was at 80,000 miles. So 5 years and 70,000 miles later we just recently had the same issue with a rough idle until finally the P0302 Cyl 2 misfire code appeared and I knew the fate. I had called numerous shops and ranged from quotes of up to $10k, or more than that saying it needed a new engine, to others not even willing to quote me when I explained the situation and asked "IF this is the same repair what is the cost?" I just started going out further from the Justin area and called a few shops in Decatur and got ahold of Superior. They knew exactly the problem and had an excellent technician (Raul) who knew this fix, and has done it before. They are probably one of the few shops in the metroplex outside of the dealer to trust with this since apparently it is very difficult to keep the timing in place and it's much longer job for other shops. The costs for this were also extremely reasonable. We added in a few other maintenance items as well and got good recommendations from Joe. This van has been great to us and if not for Superior Auto it could have been much more costly. And I just did not want to have to drop a $40k financing contract on a new minivan for our family in this economic climate. The owner Robert also even does some QC checks to be 100% certain even though Raul does a fantastic job. We had a little bit of a customer service mishap/miscommuncation but good customer service is NOT defined by how you are treated when everything is going well and GOOD, it's how a business treats when even a small thing goes slightly off the rails and Dean in their front office displayed A+ customer service. Five-stars all around and no real need to visit the dealership when you'll get a personal touch with Superior Auto. Thanks guys!
