Bulverde Bexar Veterinary was recommended due to pricing, and and their walk-in policy. Basically, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they allow for walk-ins on a first come, first serve basis. It was a very long wait because we arrived much later than their 8 am opening, and there were quite a few people ahead of us, but the place's system is pretty good system. They get your name, phone number and give you a call when they are ready for your pet. The place is clean, staff is very helpful and kind, and their prices were better than many other places. Long story short, this was a very sad visit, but it was handled very well, and with compassion. I can't recommend them enough.

I told them not to do anything to him and that I would pick him up immediately. I live 5 minutes away. They charged me $400 to hold him in a kennel for 5 hours. My dog has a heart murmur and should not have been placed under that much stress for that long. The vet was unapologetic and very unprofessional. Do not take your pets there. The front desk employee even agreed with us, saying we should not have been charged. However, they wouldn't release our dog to us if we didn't pay the bill. Terrible vet, I made a big mistake taking my pet there. Hopefully you and your pet will avoid being mistreated and robbed of your money. I feel like I have been a victim of a crime.

I started seeing Dr. DeCola for my two dogs and I loved her gentle and caring nature with my dogs and her willingness to spend enough time to give a thorough exam and answer any questions. I highly recommend her. About two weeks ago one of my dogs who had a long and active life needed end of life care. He took a quick downward turn and he and I needed to see a vet right away. Dr. DeCola wasn't available, but Dr. Harter was. I knew this would be a final goodbye to my beloved dog and I was very emotional. Dr. Harter agreed to see me and my dog asap. When we got to the office Allie, one of the vet techs, took us into a room and explained our options. She was so compassionate and caring. She was so good to my dog. Then Dr. Harter came in and answered any additional questions and explained the procedure and what to expect. Dr. Harter allowed myself, my daughter and my daughter-in-law to have as much time to say goodbye as needed. Dr. Harter was so gentle with my dog and so loving. Her manner was very comforting and I felt like my dog and I were in safe hands. She allowed myself, my daughter and my DIL to stay in the room and comfort my dog, even after he had left us.
