Spring Branch vet clinic is the best vet I have ever been to. They are great at diagnosing and are very reasonable. I wont go anywhere else.

Well over due, kudos! Owning many cats and dogs, unfortunately our animals have medical issues. In this particular case, an adopted puppy who needed double hip replacement as a result of dysplasia. My vet was highly recommending a local orthopedic. Mean while poor dog is in dire pain. I am stressed out listening to my dog's pain. Nothing can prepare you for listening to your dog trying to tell you. Help me. Long story short, I didn't have a plan. The referral vet, who has the dog's X-rays & medical records for over a month, never returned my call. My vet didn't shed any info, just that they would get the orthopedic surgeon to call me. Which never happened! I called Dr.Madigan. Left voicemails in tears. Trust me I couldn't stop crying. Dr. Madigan returned my calls with helpful advice. Never in my life have a met a more compassionate vet. This vet does not know me or owe me anything. Yet the Dr. Madigan provided his time! God less you, Dr. Madigan! read more

this clinic charges insane prices- much much higher than anyone would expect- and the compassion nearly nonexistent - they will pile on charges without explaining - taking my cat in for vomiting bile and not eating in a day - went from a 300 dollar charge to suddenly 500 then to 750 before we left....and after that no reason for the vomiting or any solution to it....I would never recommend this vet to anyone if they could avoid it....we used to use them for all our pets and now they are absolutely our last choice read more

We just moved into the Bulverde area about a year ago. Fortunately we haven't had a need for a vet so we weren't really looking. Our Shih Tzu Maisy got sick and we had to find a vet in our area. We found SB Veterinary and took our little girl on a Friday morning. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It's a long story but to summarize Dr. Smith took great care to diagnose Maisy. She answered a ton of questions and we felt she really cared about of dog. The office called first thing Monday morning to check on her. We will be calling SB Veterinarian our home. We have been using this clinic since it opened (left for a short while due to my daughter working at another clinic). For a customer to stay with them for so long (about 20 years), you know they are doing something right. Currently, they take care of our 3 dogs and 2 cats. Over the years, they also took care of 4 other dogs and cat. To let you know what kind of heart these folks have had over the years, I have to list 2 examples. My favorite dog, Jake - a half Chow half Golden Retriever, got to the point that he could not get up due to his hips. They worked and worked with us and Jake, even going to the point of creating a set of "training wheels" for his backside so that he could get around. When Jake passed, they offered to bury him on their ranch. The other example is of our cat Dewey. Unfortunately, he came down with cancer in his kidneys and liver. There was nothing that could be done for him, so that talked to us about our options. If we were willing to do it, they would furnish us with needles and saline solutions so that we could infuse him every 2 or 3 days to help make up for his kidney issues. We were able to take care of him for about 6 months until he passed in his sleep. This clinic has been through several owners over the years, and we have liked them all. It recently was taken over by Dr. Hughes, and we were lucky enough to meet her at the event last weekend. I think we are going to like her a lot. It appears that the staff is going to remain the same. That is great as we like all of them also. We are so lucky to have these folks so close. So why not a 5 star? They are not open on the weekend (neither day), so if you are boarding a pet, you can't pick them up until Monday. read more

Don't even ask to apply for a job here if you have an intellectual disability. It was disappointing, as I called and spoke with Anne Marie. I mentioned that I help individuals with intellectual disabilities find jobs. The minute that she heard "intellectual disability" she was doubtful that the person would work out. Even though she had stated that I could come down and fill out an application, just 30 seconds before this. It was a terrible disappointment, as she didn't even want to give this person a chance at that point because she started back -peddling and saying things like, "I'm not sure they would be able to come in and open the kennel and handle big dogs etc...". Any excuse works for her, not to hire a person with a disability. I mentioned that in life, it is important for people to see the ABILITY not the DISability. I wonder how these people treat animals with disabilities....think about it. I wouldn't dare take my dogs there. Luckily for me, I have a wonderful vet in Boerne. read more

My experience at Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital was exceptional. I brought in my dog who had several hot spots caused by a reckless groomer. I was immediately taken to a room after arriving which is usually not the case at other vet clinics. The tech was very thorough asking questions about my dog and the reason for being seen. Soon after she left, Dr. Hughes entered the room to examine my dog. She was very compassionate and empathetic. You can tell she really cares and has a very calming sense about her. She was very sweet to my stressed dog and asked if I wanted to wait in a room with him after he got fluids. I thought that was very thoughtful. I was placed in a room while my waited for my dog and my stress melted. This veterinary hospital has a very calming, peaceful, and sunny ambience. It immediately put me at ease after being so stressed out. I knew that my dog was going to be ok because he was in Dr. Hughes' knowledgeable and very capable hands. Dr. Hughes and her staff are very caring, accommodating and professional. My pets are family, and I am so happy I found Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital! read more

I took my two kitties here after two other vets in area disappointed. The two other vets could barely make time to examine my cats. Just a cursory look and vaccinations. Boom. Bye! The Spring Branch vet office is very well run the doctor is extremely thorough snd willing to actually sit down with me snd explain things. One of my kitties has a serious health issue snd i needed information and some hope. This vet is great! Dr Smith is warm and friendly and thorough. I'm surprised there is not more reviews for this hospital. We moved here a year ago with our dog and cat and have since added another dog . They have all been seen by the dr's here. It's a small practice with a great dynamic. Great front staff and technicians. Great communication between everyone and great service. I worked at a veterinary clinic for 8 years and this is the exact type of practice I was looking for when I moved here. They also do boarding and grooming , both of which I have used with confidence. Prices are fair and I was always involved with my pets options for treatment. I am so happy that I found this place to bring my furry family! read more

We've been taking my three dogs for about two years. It's very expensive - great care, but you pay for it. I called to get the dogs shots and annual check up and the price was over $325 a dog. I love my dogs, but that's crazy. read more

As a first time pet owner I was anxious about all things vet and they handled me with care- explained everything in detail and from my research had the best costs. My dog is aggressive towards other dogs and I let them know that ahead of time and they had me in a room immediately. Looooove this vet clinic! We used to take all our babies to VCA since the day my husband and I became pet parents, and although they're extremely expensive we figured that the "don't care about you or your pet" attitude was apart of the service. Once we moved to the hill country we fell in love with their little doggy mailbox, so we stopped by for a visit and prices and they blew us away! We were literally paying double at VCA for nothing! We love how welcoming the receptionist are and how helpful the Dr is! Our kitty broke his femur over the holidays and we went over all his options with Dr. Duncan, we had to see a specialist, who quite frankly was waaaay out of our price range. Dr. Duncan personally went out of her way to call around and find someone who would be able to help repair our kitty within our price range. They even called twice that week to check up on him. First let me say vet was good , staff not so much and too start with put the wrong directions on prescription bottle.Then diddnt tell us it was not a prescription but a supplement.Which they charged 2.5 times as much .Wife talked to vet and crawl fished the whole time.
