If I could give zero stars, I would. Working with Jane Reitz was atrocious…read more Backing up here, we'd interacted with Jane regarding three properties. I did not realize it was possible to witness all of these things with just one agent, but it happened: - At open houses, Jane and her assistants were very unprepared. They had laptops open, trying to get the answer to basic questions like "How many units are in the association? Is the heat gas? etc." It was as if no one did their homework and was very unprofessional. - Jane was 1 hour late to one showing, 30 minutes later to another one we had with her. In both cases, she blamed it on her assistant not telling her instead of taking the fall for it like a real professional. - Jane forgot the basement key on a home inspection and then proceeded to hire a locksmith, make us wait an hour for the guy to show up, have him break into the basement without permission of anyone in the association, and then write him a bad check. -Jane fails to disclose a material known fact in a real estate listing on MLS. There was a right of first refusal on the property. Per the law, she is required to disclose this and knowingly did not. We were eventually forced out of the deal and out thousands of dollars. This also put the seller in a tough position because she was now under threat of lawsuit from others in the association. Our agent's company said THIS IS THE WORST THING HE'D EVER SEEN HAPPEN IN A REAL ESTATE TRANSACTION. Then, the saga continues - 1. We sued her for breaking Mass 93A law, Unfair and Deceptive Business practices. 2. We filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure. 3. We filed an ethics complaint with the Greater Boston Board of Real Estate. Take your buying and selling of real estate elsewhere! I was nervous since a lot of realtors use fake ads to lure you in and then say oh that's not available. To my surprise the apartment was in fact real! Luke was very professional and quick to respond. He did ask me what I was looking for so he could pull other listings in the area and make the most of our time. We were able to set up a viewing for the apartment later that week along with a few others. This doesn't seem like a big deal but I have a small dog and finding non basement apartments in Boston who accept pups is hard! Luke was very nice and didn't rush me at any of the viewings. He was able to answer my questions and the two questions he was unsure of he said he would get back to me. I fell in love with the original apartment I was interested in and asked Luke about the process. From there it was pretty easy. I filled out the paperwork and was able to get everything over to Lucy in the office who was super nice! She made sure everything was filled out and helped me with a few things I was unsure about. Also they used an electronic signature for the lease which is soooo much better than having to drive around and/or mail things. So moral of the story is I'm sitting in my new apartment thanks to the team at Blue Ocean. I would 100% work with them again. I also referred them to my friend and another realtor named Julia was able to get her an amazing place. Thanks for not being the stereotypical sketchy realtors we all know in Boston! :)

Exceptional Real Estate Partner - Phil Delivers Results…read more I've had the pleasure of working with Phil at Park Hou Group through Splice on multiple transactions over the years. Phil helped me purchase a single-family home in Cambridge, buy a townhouse condo in Somerville, and later sell the condo. Each experience exceeded my expectations. Going Above and Beyond from Day One For my Cambridge purchase, Phil's team secured an early showing before the open house, allowing me to submit a competitive offer ahead of the crowd. In Cambridge's cutthroat market, this strategic move made all the difference--I'm confident I wouldn't have gotten the house otherwise. Phil provided an incredibly detailed comparative market analysis (CMA) that gave me the confidence to make a strong but justified offer. Expert Advice That Pays Dividends One of Phil's best recommendations was converting my 2-bed, 1.5-bath home into a 3-bed, 2-bath. This renovation created a versatile home office and guest room, and when I relocated, significantly increased the property's rental value. It's rare to find a realtor who thinks so strategically about long-term value. Unmatched Expertise and Resources Phil's personal experience with rental properties and renovations sets him apart. As a first-time renovator, I had countless questions, and Phil never hesitated to share his knowledge--even well after closing. I later learned he develops properties himself and manages investment properties for other clients, which explains his deep understanding of what to buy, what to avoid, and how to maximize ROI on improvements. A Full-Service Team with Vetted Professionals Phil has built an impressive network of trusted vendors--inspectors, architects, contractors, loan officers, attorneys, photographers, stagers, and more. When he makes a recommendation, I don't waste time researching alternatives because I know they're competent and fairly priced. This network is invaluable and saves tremendous time and stress. Proactive Marketing That Gets Results When selling my condo, Phil convinced me to stage the property (excellent advice) and staffed the open house with multiple team members to ensure every visitor felt attended to. What impressed me most was his follow-through--he personally called every prospective buyer multiple times for feedback and to maintain engagement. Phil doesn't just list properties; he actively sells them. Always Available, Always Professional Throughout every transaction, Phil was accessible via text and phone, answering questions and easing anxieties. His communication style is both professional and reassuring during what can be a stressful process. I've recommended Phil to all my friends because I genuinely believe you won't find a better realtor in the Boston area. His combination of market knowledge, strategic thinking, and exceptional service makes him an invaluable partner in any real estate transaction.
