My favourite climbing gym so far. It's big, doesn't get too crowded, has a nice open cafe area, a…read moregym area to warm up, and lots of challenging climbs. I really enjoy coming here with friends. The staff is very friendly and if it's your first time they explain the rules and guide you on the different areas of the gym. You can rent shoes and a chalk bag, they have a nice shop area as well if you want to buy any of your own gear. Their entryway could use a bit of a change since in the winter I find it gets really wet with all the boots and they run out of hangers because of the heavy winter coats, but other than that it's good!

A good, small climbing gym that's on the outskirts of Montréal. They have two indoor bouldering…read morewalls and one outside, but we weren't able to check out the latter as it was raining pretty hard. We were only able to climb the top out bouldering wall on the lower floor as they were changing the routes on the bouldering wall upstairs (not top out). There're more top-roping options than bouldering, and lead routes have the least available (understandable). I find it more worth it top-rope, so if you're new to the gym or visiting I would go with someone who can belay. As for the boulders themselves, they are graded based on circuits (V0, V0-V2, V2-V4, etc.; the grading scale is accurate). There were no V0s when we went, and there were 2 V0-V2s and 2 V2-4s, so if you're looking for a place more beginner-friendly, I would look elsewhere. Most of the climbs were advanced, so I would recommend being around V4 and above to make your visit(s) here worth it.

Now that I've tried both activities offered here I feel more knowledgeable to give my full review…read more This place rocks! Dodgebow: basically dodge ball with bows and arrows. It's high intensity and high cardio. You will break a sweat! They have tons of different scenarios you can try out so you won't get bored of the game. It'll be a little awkward at first because of the face mask and the arm protection band but you get used to it. It's the perfect activity for a birthday party or a friend hangout. I'd love to go back with my family. Force Academy: we've all wondered what it would be like to wield a light saber. It's definitely harder than it looks. My arm was so weak and I'm so short it kept hitting the ground. But by the end of my session I was decent! They teach you some cool moves just like in the movies and they put you in some cool scenarios to practice. The staff is great. Super friendly. They'll teach you everything you need to know and then it's up to you. I had Zack both times I went and I really like him. Some things to remember before you go: - get there early, there are wavers to sign - be dressed to do some physical activity - if you're a small group you might be with strangers so if you don't like that idea, reserve for your group only. - bring a lock for the locker area - sign up for their newsletter. They have tons of promotions year round. As I'm writing this I already want to go back and play!!!

I booked this place for my friend's bachelorette party. We had a really large coed group, so some…read morefun activity was perfect. This place is a little bit outside downtown Montreal but an easy Uber ride. There's 1 large "arena" and you're generally split up in 2 competing teams. Think archery plus dodgeball and you get the gist of the game. All the arrows have foam tips on them so didn't hurt at all if you get hit with one. This was actually pretty good exercise for an hour since it involved a lot of short sprints to get arrows and getting back to the hiding place. My arm was also sore for a couple days after for holding up the bow! We all sucked badly, blaming it on the bar crawl the night before but absolutely had a blast!

This is a review for the VR game Beyond Medusa's Gate by Ubisoft. Ok this was seriously a lot of…read morefun. It was my first time playing with a VR game and we were a group of four. The game was just hard enough to be interesting but not so hard that it's demoralizing. Apart from the game, there's not much to describe in terms of the room since, well, it's all in the VR!! The yellow room we got had windows on one side and was overlooking the street. There's sufficient space in there for four people such that you won't bump into each other. You can go without glasses when you put on the headset since the image is up close. Because this is a group game, just swivel up one of your headphones so you can hear your teammates talking as you'll need to work together. Since you have to physically bend down to pick stuff off the ground you can't really sit. And since you use the controls to "walk" by teleporting from one place to another, I'd recommend wearing comfy shoes because you'll literally be standing still for the whole game. Overall a really cool experience to test out VR before committing to a headset/games. I'd love to go back and try out the other games!

My crew and I are no novice when it comes to escape rooms. We take pride in successfully completing…read morethe scenarios given to us. So you could imagine us as an overly confident (read: turbulent) team in front of an enthusiastic game master. We played the Nightfall scenario, which lasts for 60 minutes normally. We appreciate the fact that "pre-hints" were offered on a clipboard, but in the end were not necessary for the completion of our mission. There is enough to keep two sub-teams busy (which, like any other escape room game, is a shame, because you might miss an interesting opportunity to contribute). Not to spoil the surprise, but there were a few items that were discovered "by chance", although there may have been good logic behind it. We appreciated the sound indicator whenever a clue was successfully achieved, a nice touch compared to the competition. In the end, we finished third on the leaderboard, with 26 minutes to spare (which is pretty disappointing for us, you can imagine). We discovered this place through Tuango, which cut down the price to around 20$ per person, which is a decent price for the experience we got. This is obviously a place that's just starting, so we will cut them some slack on some items that were low-key. The other scenario Shelter 2039 is also intriguing, so we will definitely check it out in the future!
