This Place Is Horrible! I Should've Listen To The Reviews I Went In To Get My Hair Braided Nothing Like The Picture I Asked For. When I Sent Her A Text Telling Her She Told Me To Come Back In Which I Tipped The Girl A 20 Just Because She Did A Service I Came Back They Took It Down Redid It. I Went On A Saturday Had To Take It Down On A Thursday Due To My Hair Pulling And Bumps Coming Up. Listen To The Reviews On This Place.

Never go here!! Pulled all of my daughters hair out. Refused to fix or refund my money. Owner isn't professional. Horrible service.

I went back for them to fix my hair. The owner was extremely accommodating. She made sure to come in for me and make sure my hair was reading properly. I really appreciated the care that she took. She clearly cares about her customers, and I ended up with these beautiful Braids and there were two people doing my hair the whole time so it went by really really fast. I will definitely come back and I would definitely recommend that if you have any questions or concerns to always reach out to the owner, she is super helpful, super caring and wants to make sure that her customers are absolutely satisfied. read more

This is a last minute braid for my daughter. You have to call their Mana for pricing. She texted me $230 for knotless braids. Then, when I get there their Mama said it was $20 for the hair. Hair has always been included in the price. Then, I was told that one of the workers grabbed my daughter's shoulder aggressively telling her to hold her head to one side while another braider on the other side was pulling her head the other way. read more

I was referred to Braid City. I read the Yelp reviews, and was almost discouraged to call for an appointment. It is for this reason that I'm making a post about my experience at this establishment. I had a very good experience, and here's why... 1. Clear and responsive communication via text and telephone 2. Has COVID19 safety precautions in place 3. Reasonable pricing 4. Finished my braids in the agreed upon timeframe 5. I love my braids 6. My braids are not too tight As I transition back to natural, I'm sure I'll continue to get my hair braided at Braid City. read more

I went to this salon for the very first time and first thing is the way they braided my hair felt like my entire scalp was being pulled .. the lady was not gentle whatsoever... secondly she braided all of my edges as well , caused a braid to fall out with my hair included leaving me with a bald spot in my head. I will never recommend this place, I will never go back. They were very rude too. Lastly half way through braiding my hair the lady sat and ate for an hour to talk to her friends and I was literally there for 8 hrs !! read more

1.They braid sooo tight I asked the lady not to braid so tight she didn't at first then began pinching harder it was so tight I cried 2.They told me it was $180 over the phone when I got finished with my hair I was told $210 she waited AFTER my hair 3. my hair isn't even staying in these braids I just got it done Saturday this place is TERRIBLE DO NOT GO read more

This place is amazing it's a down home salon with family braiding hair this is my second time going there and it was even better than the first time I love the owner and her granddaughter and I had a great conversation can they listen to what you want and it's just like going to visit a family member and the quality of the work is superb my new go to place please don't walk run if you need your hair braided this is the place for sure !!!! read more

I went in on Friday and had a 10am with mama, I was taken back promptly at 10. I pulled up a few photos on my phone that I was interested in and mama understood exactly what I wanted. I was expecting her to say she wouldn't be able to get me close to what I want or that it'll be a process but she said ok and got to work. She took her time and was methodical, she did my hair exactly as I was wanting with very little input needed from me. She made sure I was comfortable with the length I'm mixed . And when she was done I was in shock, she did an amazing job! I was so happy with my hair! I will def be back and would recommend her to anyone!!! I just moved to the area and need something easy to manage for my hair until Christmas. I visited this salon for braids. The braids took about 4 hours to complete. Three people rotated on my hair with 2 finishing the last 1.5 hours. They were very rough. They both kept pulling my head in 2 different directions and then huffed when I complained about it. The older lady who started my hair talked on the phone or ate her breakfast almost the entire time she worked on my hair. Braids hurt and are painful to put in a ponytail. I can see my scalp pulling in the front. Not good for my edges. If pain doesn't ease by day 5 I may remove them. I paid $150, not including hair and was told $50 for take down. Not sure if I'd return. read more

Kind, gracious, focused and super fair pricing. First-time visitor and I LOVE BRAIDSCITY!! I arrived at 10am and was the only customer there on a weekday. I've been to braiders all over the US -- from Maine to Brooklyn to Atlanta to Compton to Maui -- 90% of them were surly, resentful brats and treated me like a hair mannequin. You know the food-eating, cell-gossipping, bootleg dvd-buying, YELLING harridans who get half-way done, get bored and either start someone else's hair or sloppily throw a few crappy, thin, mismatched, braids in the back and say done. Then curse you in patois when you don't tip them. oh. Baby. Pleez... The Braidscity Ladies knew exactly what I wanted from my pic. They constantly asked me if I was okay, never yanked my head or dehumanized me. They were intelligent, mature, total professionals. i loved them as people! But, best of all -- THEY FINISHED IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS! I was done by 11:45am. The braids were all the same size! I was unnerved when I walked in the door. Several drivers waited patiently for a spot to open only to watch as other drivers swooped in to grab an open spot. That's just not done; it's unsafe; and it happened three times. That is the truth, not a "discriminatory" comment about her neighborhood. That corner of Greenville has become too congested for the traffic, and Richardson has not invested in infrastructure. No worries. I would never return to this shop or the area. The manager was rude and fabricates. She overcharged me for a dry trim. The parking on weekends is unsafe. Many other choices closer to my house where the services fit my needs, and the manager is professional and doesn't argue with clients. Good luck.

I waited almost an hour. I had to tell them the rollers were too hot. I had to tell them the timer went off. Unsurprisingly, my hair was fried. At the end, I was told to go with the wet hair so that the curls would stay. It doesn't look remotely like the picture I showed. I understand the hair in the picture was styled with a lot of products, but my curls looked like I did it myself. I am never going again. I need to remember that.

I'm new to the area and went to Braidscity to get my hair done it took 2 hours I love it thanks mama it's The best braiders garland and quite possibly Texas. This is my 3rd visit, the first time I got small/medium box braids, 2nd visit was a touch up and now I came back for a fresh installation of micro braids. The braiders work hard to get you in and out as quickly as possible because it is a process. My small/micro braids normally take 12 hours! but mama did my micros in 4 hours beautiful and neat . I request for my baby hair to be left out, medium tension (I don't want traction alopecia) and if I want a defined part. I haven't experience any breakage, damage to my real hair or much irritation due to the braids. Now, I will be honest, it can be pretty painful at first when you leave. I personally go home and run hot water thru my braids immediately and use a leave-in conditioner on each braid to slightly loosen the braid. This method isn't recommended by most because it will shorten the lifespan of your braids. However, it breaks them in quicker so I can begin styling them and significantly reduces the irritation to my scalp. I don't mind coming back in 2 weeks for touch ups because my priority is the health and wellness of my real hair. If I had to choose one word to describe braidscity, I would use AWESOME!!!! After trying a few other braiding salons and not liking my hair most of the time, I stumbled upon Braids city as I was Instagram trolling late at night lol. I instantly fell in love with their work. I made an appointment with my now favorite MAMA. Ladies she did not disappoint. Her talent and customer service with me was exceptional. She knows her stuff when it comes to braiding and I'm talking ALL styles. I was going to her before she had her current salon. I've been a customer for almost 8 years now and have never had a problem with her or her staff. Needless to say, I have tried many, many, many styles, some of which she recommended. I love her to pieces. She is fun, feisty, and fierce, my kind of stylist. MAMA is all about giving her customers what they want, but I will warn you, she is totally honest about hairstyles. If it's something that will not work she will let you know before you spend your money. Now if you decided to go against her advice then that is on you honey, lol. . I have personally never encountered any rudeness with her or her staff. Now that doesn't mean that you can be rude to her and not expect to get read lol because she can go there. I went about 12 weeks ago and had the absolute best experience. I had my daughter with me mama welcome her she was like let me hold her I have a daughter too kids are amazing she just babysit for me for 3 hours she just said I won't change the baby diaper for you lol but they welcomed her with no problem as I sat in the chair to get micro Senegalese twists ( at least they didn't show that they were annoyed if they were. She was like fell free seriously no problem My hair took by 3 hours 3 people and I have thick natural hair. I t. I didn't have chunks of hair coming out or excessive shedding when I took my braids out from the last time they did it They were very polite, professional, and provided quality work. Best braiding shop I've been to in Garland . At first the. Way the older lady talked with me I was like wait a minute let me back off and mama just walked in talked with me and I said let me try it Thank you ladies!! You're awesome! I love you mama i will be back I don't go online to rate a business but with your qualifications a master degree and a bachelors degree teaching qualification braiding license and now going back for nursing oooh girl you will be so big in the next few years Oh....and there was very little pain after the twists were installed, but the next morning I was fine. After I had my son just over a year ago pregnancy had really took a toll on my hair and it really needed attention. I decided to treat myself to a salon visit for my birthday, so I booked in at the Braidscity . I had never been here before and couldn't have been made to feel any more welcome and relaxed. I had a my hair done for sngalese twist was not too sure on what I wanted but Mama who did my braids was very friendly & helpful and I absolutely love my hair she also advised me on what would suit me and I love my twist. She also spent the time recommending products I asked about and showing me how to Put my hair in a ponytail I can never normally poneutail my hair successfully but will now practice! Overall I really enjoyed my salon experience and will be going again. Would recommend braidscity the owner is very professional. She goes the extra mile to ensure you are happy and that your natural hair is protected and cared for. If that's not enough, her prices are amazingly low for the quality you get!
