Just got back from Florida, and I HAVE to give my girl Fed her flowers! She was, hands down, the NICEST and most caring braider I've ever met. Seriously, my experience with her was the best I've had since landing in LA (4 years ago). Not only is she professional, but she's also an amazing storyteller who kept me entertained the whole time. Even when she had to rewash my hair (shout out to my thick, coarse 4C hair), she handled it like a pro--no complaints, unlike some other braiders I've dealt with. She took her time, washed, detangled, and even gave me tips on how to care for my hair. And this was all BEFORE we even got to the braids! Now, let's talk about the braids... they are STUNNING. Crisp, flawless, and they're STILL looking amazing after being washed twice during my vacation. If you're on the hunt for a braider who truly cares about how you walk out of the salon, Fed is your girl! Trust me, you won't regret it! There soo much I can say but in conclusion thank you so much Fed for the experience! It was my first time feeling pampered and I will be back again! read more

Not a professional environment when it comes to communicating with new clients with the salons braiding appointment process, etc. Hopefully they'll build off constructive criticism, rather than lashing out in their yelp review sections. The braiding speaks for itself but the unprofessional communication isn't attractive. read more

Lucy did an amazing job with my little ones braids , we are happy about the outcome and she was very professional and friendly. read more

Future warning for customers wanting to book: Completely unprofessional and execute poor communication skills. I called the salon to book an appointment, the person on the phone gave me a braiders number to complete the appointment process & never gave me specific steps to follow in order to book the appointment. I did not feel comfortable or guided by this appointment process. As a couple days go by, I never knew I had to complete a deposit, (which is normal) but, nobody touched base with me to secure my appointment, so I never was booked with them in the first place... Plus in addition, if I didn't purchase hair from Braid Queen LA products then I would have to bring the hair 2 days in advance. I knew from the start if I went into the salon I probably would have not gotten the style desired if this was how braiders communicate with future clients trying to book in the future. read more

This beauty supply has quickly became a go-to for all my hair needs!!! I met Energy who was so sweet and knowledgeable, and she helped me picked the best color combo for my braids. I will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone looking for a true beauty supply with great products, services, and prices. Thank you Energy, it was so nice meeting you!! read more

I had a great experience with Lucy. She was nice and funny which made time go faster. She also put on a tv show for me which I am now hooked on! lol I got bora bora/boho braids and since it was my first time, I was scared they would be too tight but they are perfect. Also, thanks to her I am now looking into acupuncture/ supplements for fertility issues. I really appreciate her help. read more

OVERPRICED. got2b is $12 but $6 at Target. her reasoning is bc target is a large corporation. other beauty supplies do NOT charge that much for the same item google review: 1 star for being black owned, but their prices are dumb high!! for example, 12 oz of got2b spray is $12 at this store but only $6 at target.... RESPONSE FROM OWNER: Hi Jasmyn thanks for your feed but with all due respect you can't compare my small business prices to a large corporation as Target. Target is able to buy at a much higher volume so what the Ventor charges them is way less than a small business like myself the concept is buy more pay less that apply to this case. Thankfully there's a Target in every corner of LA for your visit. Had to remake the review to drop the rating from 3/5 to 1 star because the owner had such a nasty, sarcastic response. in summary: the owner is a rude and the customer service is poor. black owned or not, we are paying customers. but you're right -- luckily there's targets and beauty supplies all over LA! at least at target the employees don't have their crying toddlers running all over the place. you'll never get another penny out of me. Also y'all PLEASE go to google to see how this "owner" speaks to her paying customers in the reviews that aren't 5 star. YOU ARE VULGAR! she flips the narrative to make it sound like she's being threatened because she can't take any feedback or criticism. i said "lets see how long this business lasts" and she reported the reviews because she only keep positive ones LOL. sadly, you cannot read. i never mentioned stepping foot back on this poorly run establishment. the hate you spew will come back to you & you'll reap what you sow. you are in the business of customer service honey, get off your power trip and serve your customers. you know, those things you need to keep this business alive ;) read more

Braid Queen LA - Hair Extensions Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Small black owned beauty supply store, with a salon in the back. The few times I've been the young lady Armoni is always super pleasant and helpful. She answered the questions that I had and her awareness on certain products was beyond exceptional. read more

Lucy was very sweet and nice. The salon was cleaned and organized, very hospitable. It didn't take long to get a full head of box braids which is a plus. My only concern is I can't see the back so I have no clue what it looked like until I got back to check it. I do feel the braiding was fast however the wide spread spacing I'm I'm not a fan of because it just looks weird when the hair is down. But the hair feels like. I'm guessing that's why it's like that she used less hair to not have tension on your hair. I took 1 star off because I felt like her cellphone had her a little occupied. But setting that aside she was great and I got in and out in under 6hrs. She did have someone assisting her to finish braids that she started to speed up the process read more

Black owned beauty supply in Ktown!! I love it! Most times it is hard to find a beauty supply that has all my black hair care needs and is black owned and I found the spot. Braid Queen LA is a small spot in Koreatown that had everything I needed. Edge control, hair clips, hair scarves and hair growth oil. The owner came out to help and provide recommendations to other hair care products. It was so welcoming and comfortable to come in and not feel profiled but also feel comfortable enough to ask questions and advice and it was trusted because the owner was a black female and spoke from experience. She was nice, receptive and respectful. I had a pleasant experience and they accept Apple Pay! Will be coming back anytime I am in K-town. Thanks Braid Queen read more

This is one of the best beauty supplies in LA to me. I'm a braider and they have just about everything I need each time. It is pricey but it's expected. Great quality braiding hair and products. The new staff they have are really nice including the owner as well. read more

I LOVED my experience at Braid Queen LA. They have such a wide array of types of braiding hair and colors. I feel like anything I looked for, I could have found in that store. I also got Boho braids from Lucy and my braids looks amazing!!! These are definitely the best braids I've gotten. And the experience was so enjoyable. The women in the shop are so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend. read more

I called Tuesday to schedule an appointment. I spoke with a braider and I had an appointment on Friday at 2pm. I called Friday to discuss parking as I was downstairs. The braider double booked me with another client and started acting extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked if another braider was available and she called back an hour and a half later. I would rate zero stars if possible just an overall negative experience read more

Don't bother trying to book an appointment here.. Called per the website, was told I needed to text the number to understand availability. Seemingly, they won't share available appointment times over the phone? after 48 hrs, no one got back to me. You all should turn off your read receipts if you want to ignore customers... read more

It's very unfortunate that when we try to support black businesses we're most times met with workers who have attitudes while you're trying to spend money with them. The products here already are over priced which i understood reasons why that could be. But I'm on the phone trying to place an order and was met with a very rude employee. To the point i had to stop- and ask "are you ok!?" Ultimately decided to not shop with them again. No one wants to feel like they are bothering someone while spending their money with them. I hope they get it together. read more

If you're thinking of checking this place out - do it. They have an amazing selection and they have unique options. I found both Amber and ginger colored braiding hair. To give you an example, these colors would be matched for the L'Oréal Hi-color, sizzling copper and ginger. I say all of this to say: I have never found matches for these colors - not even on Amazon. I'm so happy I found them here!! The staff is always nice and the products are reasonably priced. This is definitely my first stop when Likki g for hair products in LA read more

Love that there is a black owned beauty supply near by! This is my go to spot now and everyone in there is super nice/helpful

It was my first time in the wonderful shop today and Lucy was amazing! This is a Black woman owned business and I am so excited to be able to support her (as a Black owned small business myself). Lucy has a huge inventory of hair...I was looking at one wall and turned around and there was another entire wall of even more hair colors and options! Whoa! Lucy was friendly and kind and helped me pick out some colors and I saw that she carries some of my fav hair care brands too like TGIN and Shea Moisture. This is my go to beauty supply store from now on! Thank you for your help and see you soon! read more

Lucy is amazing at what she does! She wasn't even feeling well and was still able to finish my hair in 6 hours. I got small/medium size box braids. I constantly gets compliments on my hair. Although the hair looked nice, the ends were not thin as they should be. They were very puffy and noticeable. She uses ALOT of hair and may ask you to buy 10 packs of hair. For box braids, that is wayyyy to much and it will be too heavy on your hair. She is good at what she does but you can find someone else to do your braids just as well to accommodate what you want. Just being honest. read more

I came into this shop for hair product recommendations for my sister because I did not know the first thing about black hair products, but Lucy was sooo helpful and kind! Not only did she recommend products, but she took the time to explain them to me and show me the process of how to go about using them. I'm very excited to have my sister try out everything. I was so happy to find a black owned beauty/hair supply store near me. Lucy makes the environment very welcoming, I'll be coming back here for any more products that my sisters need. read more

Lucy hooked my hair up! I LOVE the weave she did for me...everything from the cut to the styling to the installation. It's been a month now and not a single track is out of place. She does amazing work and is so sweet and fun to hang out with. I have a very specific way that I like to have my hair done and she listened to every detail, made sure it wasn't too tight and executed everything perfectly. So grateful I found her! read more

I love my braids! Lucy did a great job and paid a lot of attention to detail. She was pleasant throughout the service. Lucy did my braids a few weeks ago and they came out exactly how I wanted. It was my first time getting braids so I didn't know much about the process but she helped me pick out braiding hair, care products, etc. I've been getting compliments on them ever since. I have very thick, and long hair so I went in thinking it would take until well into the night but she works so fast and got me out of there way sooner. And she charges a great price. Will be coming back to her for any future braiding! read more

HAPPINESS!! I had my first appointment ever with Lucy yesterday 06/12, as the world slowly opened. I found myself needing a new stylist and when I discovered Lucy was walking distance from me in Koreatown, I had to check her out and I am so happy I did. I wear a full sewn-in weave and from take down to curl up, it was a good experience. The braid up was pain less and as well as the sewing of the tracks and the curls are beautiful. Lucy is professional, attentive and has an awesome vibe. If you need braids or a weave check her out, you won't be disappointed. Our new normal means you are wearing a mask the entire time, but it wasn't as bad at all. Support local, black owned businesses!! read more

Overpriced!!! One pack of braiding hair is about $5.00. They don't even have a large selection of products. I only stopped here because it was convenient and I heard it was Black owned. There is no reason why they are charging more than Target, I will not be returning. read more

Braid queen is my spot, been going here for 3 years. I rcecently got my first set of box braids by Lucy and I love them. It has been almost 2 weeks and they are still neat and tight. The process took about 6 hours (quicker than what I expected) and Lucy made the process enjoyable and comfortable. She is down to earth and funny. I highly recommend texting her for a quote and appointment rather than calling. While I was in her chair her phone was ringing off the hook and she was getting messages like crazy, she is a busy woman! But, I had no problem texting her and sending her pictures of what I wanted and what my hair currently looked like for a quote. She responded very quickly. I look forward to going to her in the future! read more
