Duct Works Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning

(9 reviews)

If you're like me, your spring cleaning list just keeps growing. One of the items I had been…read moreputting off was air duct cleaning. Unpopular, unsightly, and rather boring, it's a job that had to be done nonetheless. Jim from Duct Works did a great job on my air ducts in my rental home, making the entire process stress free. My initial call to Jim was just for a quote and to answer a few questions and although I called a few more places for quotes, it's Jim's honesty and straight-forwardness that made me want to use him for the job. He's the owner/operator of DuctWorks and I liked knowing that the person I was talking with on the phone would be the person who would show up for the job. Lucky for me, Jim had an opening the following day and we were able to knock the job out before the weekend. Although I wasn't present for the actual cleaning, my tenant said that Jim was friendly and did the job efficiently and quickly. I followed up with a phone call to Jim to see if there was any issues and thankfully there weren't any (whew! No dead animals in the ducts. Always a relief) A few things I learned from calling around about duct cleaning is that some of the national chains won't do an older home where they suspect or are unsure of asepsis around the ducts. DuctWorks took every precaution in working with my older home that the other, larger chains passed on. Also, DuctWorks uses a truck instead of the handheld vacs ensuring that the dust and particles are removed safely and quickly without re-emitting anything into the air. The prices are reasonable for duct work cleaning and given that it was a long time coming for my house, it was well worth it. I've already recommended him to home owners for their home maintenance.

Jim was also very accessible by phone and easy to schedule with. I highly recommend Duct Works.

As the owner of two small female dogs, my carpet is in constant need of attention. I typically get…read moremy carpets cleaned 2-3 times a year and Stanley Steemer is always my first choice. I believe that both the customer service and actual cleaning quality are superior at Stanley. Stanley Steemer is not only reliable, they're also the cost effective choice. I receive monthly promotional emails and can almost always find a way to attach a discount to the service my house requires. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences when dealing with Stanley Steemer staff members. Most recently, I requested that they take extra care when moving my glass coffee table and trophies on the stairwell ledge. They were careful and thorough when touching my fragile items, and took the utmost care to cover their shoes as to prevent additional dirt and snow from accumulating on my floors. Stanley Steemer did an excellent job removing stains from and treating my carpets and I noted the attention to detail that was given to my carpeted staircase. If you're lucky, you'll meet with Chris; he's the best (easy on the eyes too). Keep up the good work Stanley Steemer!

The team was pleasant, quick, and everything looked great when they were done. The next morning, I noticed a strong unpleasant odor coming from the LR carpet. I contacted customer service on Thursday, 8/8, and was immediately scheduled for a follow-up cleaning on 8/9. This was perfect since the plan had been to have the carpet cleaned while my family was up north for the week so we didn't have to deal with toddlers on damp carpet. The second team arrived on time Friday morning and were pleasant, quickly recleaned the LR carpet, and were gone before I knew it. I made sure air was circulating before heading up north to pick up my family. Upon returning home on Sunday afternoon (8/11), both my wife and I noticed the unpleasant odor was clearly still present. She suggested that the carpet may not be fully dry yet, so we waited to see if the smell would dissipate. It did not. I became extremely frustrated on Saturday 8/17 while sitting on the carpet with my kids, smelling a stink that did not exist prior to our initial steam cleaning on 8/6. I decided to use our own residential carpet cleaner to see if I could eliminate the smell with a few more passes. Here is the most frustrating and disgusting part of this experience: My residential carpet cleaner picked up a truly massive amount of dirt and grime from my TWICE professionally steam cleaned living room carpet. I did not take a picture of the first waste water tank that was filled with black/gray water, but I did take a picture of the next TEN full tanks with similar results. As you can imagine, I am pretty upset with this whole experience and would like to speak with someone about what can be done. Thank you -------------------- My carpet still smells worse now than it did before it was cleaned. Absolutely frustrating that I paid for this service.

Service Professor - Dust blown out of ducts

They were able to provide a great value for the service I needed. The follow up after went well, that technician was informative and good. The downside to service professor is they get in your door for a cheap price and try to find something wrong so they can quote you an enormous amount of money for a service a local professional can do. I know because the cheapest quote they offered was $4,000, to fix my problem but I found a local plumber who was licensed and insured who did it for a fraction of the cost. I would have used service professor if they were priced more fairly.

After he left, a leak sprung in our basement, which we figured out only happens when that same sink is used. We had to shop vac and clean the basement and I called the next morning. They said they would send someone out. I was super calm about it, totally trusting they would make it right. They sent the SAME tech out. So of course he starts saying its not his fault and there is nothing he can do. I call the business and they say they can have their manager call me in ONE TO TWO BUSINESS DAYS. I tell them that is unacceptable, I need a supervisor out here tomorrow. They say they can send someone out but it'll be an entirely new charge. Stay away from the business. They are cheats and only want to create new problems so they can upcharge you.
