Being a stay at home mom, it can be hard to find activities to take your child to and even just getting out the house is a mission. I'm so grateful for this awesome community event. This location is near and dear to my heart, because it is located on Tower Road and in a close proximity to Gainesville's best schools and many families of various nationalities that use the library space in an amazing way, as a community center for learning. Tower Branch Library is also very unique because of the free language exchange program they offer. At the time, I was able to volunteer as an English language tutor to a wonderful group of Korean and Mandarin speaking adults. Along the way, making many lifetime friends and acquaintances. Also, learning some Korean in the process. As you can see, I HIGHLY recommend their language exchange program at this location. It is a rare find. Many people that I have talked to say that public libraries are a daycare center for the homeless, aging, and children. At this location, that is very far from the truth. This is the best community based, learning environment library that I have been to. The management and librarians at this location are so down-to-earth, kind, and organized. I was blown away by their professionalism throughout the year that I volunteered there. The Alachua County Library district is funded in many ways, but I do notice the public library fee on my family's monthly escrow property payment. It is not that much per month and is totally worth it.

Me and a few other friends came down because she was scared she was going to get harmed. We helped her report it and the man got off with nothing more than a warning. He was allowed to stay and continue using the computers while me and my friend were stuck here. (I had to wait for her mom with her in fear of her safety.) I've been going to this library for 5-6 years now and I doubt ill be coming back. This is unacceptable and disgusting. This all happened halloween of 2025 between around 2:15 and 5.

Willowbranch Library is my favorite, hands down, of all the Duval County library branches. It's…read moregorgeous on the outside and the cathedral ceilings and wooden bookshelves on the inside make you almost think you've gone back in time. We call it The Little Library that CAN! It has books (of course), cds, dvds, magazines, computers for research and internet, free wifi, a lovely children section, a meeting room, clean bathrooms, and an elevator. Thanks to the inter-library loan system (brilliant!) you can order any book in the county and have it delivered to your branch for you to pick up (and drop off). In other words, if they don't have it, they should be able to get it for you! The parking lot is small (and on Wednesday nights, full of people attending the church across Cherry Street (grr)) but you can park on Cherry Street and near the ball park without a problem. Plenty of bike space for those who want to ride here.

I have been to the Pablo Creek Jacksonville Public Library many times as it's close to my house…read more The majority of my visits have been early voting. But I've also used the library services to print and make copies. As the library is one of the cheapest options. You can log into a computer using your library card and access your email to print documents. On this visit, I needed 60 copies for an upcoming meeting. I stopped by the front desk first and I'm so glad I did because the copying process had changed. Chris was so helpful and sweet. She came from behind the desk, walked me to the self service machine where you she assisted me with checking my balance and adding additional funds to my account. You can now use your debit or credit card instead of cash. But cash is still an option. Then she walked me to the copy machine and showed me how to log in. She suggested I print a few copies first to make sure they looked good. Again, she was such a help, because there was a line going down the page that was not on my original copy. She cleaned off the glass and suggested I use that option instead of the manual feed. Voila, the line was gone. If you're looking for a book or need to use the library services, I highly recommend the Pablo Creek location.

Last night I attended a 6PM meeting and it was quite organized. Desktop computers can be used as well and there is a time limit for 1 hour browsing. I was actually excited, almost as if I won some kind of lottery! I am so happy woth my bird books and my books helping me learn Mandarin. I can't wait to read them! I decided to catch up on some work and went into the study room, which was pretty empty and nice to be in. The room was filled with high ceilings and multiple tables and outlets for charging laptops or phones. There were only a few people in there so that was very nice. It also has a view of the outdoor area, which was nice to look at since it was a beautiful day. Onto the main part of the library, there are a lot of homeless or displaced people that frequent the library and utilize the services. There is a security guard that is walking around to ensure the safety of people. One thing I really like about this library and comparison to other county libraries are that they have great signage and labeling for the different sections like nonfiction or fiction. I wanted to check out a book however it was not available at this location. I was able to place it on hold for a location closer to my home very easily. Since this is the headquarters, they have a vast amount of books and resources but the library itself is very outdated. If I'm on this side of town, I would stop back to the library to utilize their study room since it's a quiet area and I was able to get work done while I was there.
