I can relate to the following negative review. The shop office is nasty and there is trash everywhere. Someone has to be on drugs the way it looks in there plus I know a Meth head when I see one. They had my car for 4 months. They didn't contact me in 2 months since I brought it there. I had to call them. My car came in with two check engine lights that I wanted repairEd for emission. I have multiple OBD scanners of my own. They are trying to tell me I have problems that I didn't have before they put their hands on it. So 4 months have passed and they tell me they can get me a waiver for emissions wh means they didn't fix the problem. What type of mechanical shop gives waivers for emissions instead of fixing the problem. One that doesn't know what they are doing or just trying to get over on customers. Very unprofessional. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I know I won't ever read more

AC gave up on a Friday afternoon and most places were happy to ask me to wait till the following week to get it worked on, a routine response from dealer service shops. They checked out vehicle that evening, troubleshooting was spot on. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this auto mechanic. Work was not completed timely, communication was very poor and I kept having to initiate calls to check the status of the repairs. The owner kept citing multiple staffing and external issues as excuses for not performing the work we agreed on, and the work he did do was not very good/did not resolve the issue. I left very upset and had to request a refund, which he did grant for the labor. He did try to resolve the issue with me after the fact, but it was already too late and a very poor impression had already been made. Even worse, my car has a very sour, pungent smell, which I have been told is spilled transmission fluid in the interior of my car. I will have my car cleaned, but that certainly did not help things. Basically, he overpromised and underdelivered, which resulted in a complete waste of time and money for me. The shop is also dirty and wreaks of cigarettes, which is not very professional and leaves a bad impression. Richard: Communicate *CLEARLY*, *HONESTLY* and *PROACTIVELY* with customers about the extent of the repairs needed and the time needed to complete them. Don't try to shield customers from the extent of repairs needed in an attempt to "save customers money" in the short term. Don't give time estimates that are unrealistic for you. Don't involve customers in your staffing or other issues that have nothing to do with their service. We don't "understand" and WE DON'T CARE. Know your capacity and be up front with customers about your abilities. Otherwise, it leads to misunderstandings, dissatisfaction, bad reviews and lost business. And scrub that shop down, it needs it. UPDATE: 02/25/2018 I received a text message from the owner after he read the above review stating the following (my comments in parentheses): "Maam after reading your review and deciding that what work was completed was done correctly and even extra work was that not charged for. Maam your vehicle had multiple issues to which you put on a release form (what did I "release", exactly? I pay, you fix. Simple.) . there will be no refund given. You may go thru your bank and i will go thru mine to be paid for my services. God does not like ugly it is written (Written where? Because that is *NOT* in the Bible, Quran or Torah.) So your scam is frowned upon" Seriously??? I paid you to fix my car, it's not fixed, and now you won't refund my money because you read this review and got in your feelings? And I am the one who is "scamming" YOU?!! As he requested, I will go through my bank to receive a refund. Again, I advise you not to do business with this mechanic for the reasons listed above. This truly has been the *WORST* customer service experience I've ever encountered with an auto repair shop. You've been warned. UPDATE: 02/28/2018 As I suspected, the strange, pungent odor was transmission fluid. I'm not sure if they took something off and didn't replace it or if something else went wrong, but my car definitely is leaking a steady stream of transmission fluid, which was not the case when I brought it to this mechanic last week. You will clearly see that there is no mention of a transmission fluid leak on any of the estimates he provided, yet there is now a thick stream of pink fluid on my garage floor. I've attached pictures to demonstrate the problem. A new mechanic was able to discover the sources of the leak and gave me a full comprehensive write up of all the repairs needed for a very reasonable price. On their advice, I am getting rid of the car. Had I known the *full extent* of the services needed, I never would have tried to fix it in the first place and would have saved myself much aggravation and inconvenience. Fortunately, my bank has refunded the amount I requested and this unfortunate situation is now resolved. read more

We met the owner Richard, who passed by us asking what do we have going on. We looked at his receptionist because we didn't know that he was talking to us. We looked outside, and saw him standing in front of our truck, which confirmed what he was supposed to have first spoken to us, and then asked us questions. We went outside, he asked us to pop the hood, and he stated that pur oil leak was coming from the crank shaft. We were going to need a seel. He quoted us $346, and then we asked him how much would he charge for the oil change. We also told him that we would buy our own parts. He told us if we were buying our own parts, he would only charge us $308, and would do the oil change at no cost. He stated for us to drop the truck off to him on Thursday, and the job would take 3.5 hours. He didn't phone us after the 3.5 hours, so we phoned him to see if the truck was ready. He told us it took 3.5 for them to take off a bolt, and to give them a couple more hours. He phoned 4 hours later stating that we had a big problem, because we had purchased the wrong seel, and Jammie had put the parts back on, and oil was everywhere. We were sitting in his parking lot waiting, and saw him get into a car existing in front of us. We asked to see his receptionist to see the truck, and she went through a door without inviting us. Therefore, we went around to the back of the building, but didn't see the truck. By the time we got back to the front, she was nervously coming back through a door behind her seating area. We asked her again if we could see the truck, but she tried to warn us of the amount of oil spilled. We looked at the truck which appeared that someone tried to cover up, and fabricate lies. They had a bucket underneath the front end with no oil in it. They only place oil was found was on the belts, and around the front parts. It was strange, because it didn't appear to a result of what they used as an excuse. It looked like one of. them probably poured the oil on the truck. We were told by the lying receptionist that they had ordered the part, but Jammie stated that hadn't. The receptionist was rigged up in trying to cover up for the owner Richard, and was guarding like a pitbull. We received a call from Jammie that truck was ready, and when my daughter went in to pay. She was given an inflated invoice with the original price Richard quoted us before we told him that we were buying our own parts. His receptionist argued back, and forth with my daughter as though she was was with us when Richard made the agreement. We asked if we could test drive the truck before we pay to make sure the job was performed correctly. She told us that she wasn't aloud to hand over our keys until payment was rendered. I asked if one of us could leave our licence with her, and plus my BMW was going to be left there. She made excuses about us needing our license to drive. I got tired of beating a dead horse, and told her that if my daughter couldn't test drive her car, and that inflated bill didn't get adjusted I was going to call Clayton County Police Department. The receptionist claimed Richard was at a doctor's appointment, and my daughter asked her to call him. She claimed she wasn't allowed to call him where he was under no circumstances. But, he all of a sudden called us when Clayton County was about to be called. He wanted to know. what we wanted to do, and it was simply to be able to test drive the teuck, and for him to honor the quote him originally had given us. I agreed after speaking with Advance which stated the steel was only $15, which they lied stating it was $29. They ordered two, because they admitted not knowing which one was correct. I agreed only to pay $315 out the door and no more. Richard tried to get nasty with me on the phone, but I cut that short. His receptionist is brainned washed, and afraid of Richard. She will lie, and deceive people to please her master knowing he's wrong. She has a lot of Christian literature on the wall behind her desk, which is a wast of time if this is who she really is. Please don't take your vehicles to this place if business, which appears to be racketeering with a bunch of felons. read more

CAR STOLEN!!!! Brackett Rachet Auto Service Inc @ 7101 Jonesboro Rd Morrow, Ga stole my car!! My car was stolen out of their parking lot today and they did nothing nor offered any assistance. The owner said it was my lost and refuse to provide any kind of insurance validation for my peace of mind. My car was stolen AFTER I finished paying for the engine repair (new rods, pistons, and cams) AND they did not have my keys when I asked for my keys . My car was at this shop for A full year and after a full year then it was stolen after they got it up and running! When they could not get my car to pass emissions, they figured it'll be less of a headache on their end to just steal my car or have someone steal my car and have me at a lost. My window was not broken and the robber conveniently stole my car under 1 minute. My car was stolen at 3:20 AM and this shop opens at 9AM. Richard called me at 1:20 PM to tell me that my car was missing. He nor his employees supposedly didn't notice my BRIGHT RED MUSTANG was gone from their lot until half the day was gone. The owner Richard told me that he would "search local chop shops" to see if my car pops up. These guys refused to show me surveillance and refused to report that a burglary took place on their property. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE or you might not ever see your car again. read more

I decided to take my 13' Hyundai Sonata To Brackett's and had Chris work on my vehicle he was very knowledgeable and informative. Ratchet is the perfect name for such an absolutely disgustingly unprofessional, unresponsive, incompetent establishment. I brought my car in to receive a normal tune up, a simple normal routine maintenance or so I thought, Richard proceeded to take THREE days and avoided each call I made. Finally after getting a call returned Richard proceeds to try and tell me they had to repair multiple other items on my car and charge me TWICE the original amount. At the return of my vehicle I have since found out that pieces and parts of my vehicle had been replaced or intentionally damaged. Upon this discovery I have confronted Richard and was provided with explanations and responses that were not logical or possible such as "the part must have fallen off" and "the damage was normal" which have been confirmed to not be possible. Richard either simply does not have the knowledge to be working on vehicles or is under the influence or illegal substance while "working" . This shop will not only perform work you didn't ask for, they will destroy your car. I am absolutely DISGUSTED by this company and the unintelligence of their staff. read more

I went here a few times. They started out ok, decent prices and mostly on time. They dont have a waiting area, just a private office used by the mechanics, so its smelly, and too dirty to sit down. Everything about the place screams "meth-head redneck on parole" or at best, no certifications necessary to work there, if you can spell shade-tree mechanic you can get the job, kind of feel... As they got used to me coming back things started getting bad. the prices started going up, the service started getting unreliable, and by the end I was stuck with a broken car out of state, missing parts that I paid for, extra unexplained mileage on my odometer, grease all over my interior, lost keys, scratches and dings on my car, charges for services not rendered, and absolutely zero interest by the owner in making any of it right, in any of the situations Ive described. The last straw for me was a broken part, a bracket (no pun intended!) that was cobbled back together using plastic water bottles for shims, and a piece of coat hanger instead of screws. I was charged 300 dollars for this 'job' and sent away with a big smile... I barely got out of the parking lot before it broke off, leaving the car stranded on the street! Later, when I went back to get it, the same water bottles and coat hanger wire was holding it together. I asked for a real part to replace the broken one, and he (Rick the owner) said it was too much of a hassle, and he just wanted my vehicle out of his parking lot. He clearly stated that he didnt care if it was fixed or not, thats what I was getting for what I had paid, and if I wanted it fixed right I should take it "down the street" to somebody else. Basically, he told me to f**k off... only he screwed me out of money he never worked for, parts he never installed, and damages he never covered even after admitting responsibility for them. read more

Richard -awesome man, awesome service. We were over 900 miles from home when we heard a noise under the front of our vehicle. We were nervous about getting taken advantage of but more nervous about putting our family back on the highway in a vehicle that was not safe. We called another place in the area and although they were a dealership, they left a lot to be desired in the customer service area. Our next call was to Richard, he picked up right away, was friendly and immediately understood our concern about driving the vehicle. He fit us in as his first appt on a Saturday! Richard was very warm and professional when we met. Almost as if he'd read our minds about being "taken for a ride", Richard assured us that he'd only take a look and would show us any damaged parts and obtain permission before repairing anything. In the end there was actually nothing wrong with our vehicle (who knew rust could be a bit noisy). Richard reassured us by taking the vehicle out himself and then having my husband hop in the car for a ride around so he could explain what we were hearing. We would have been happy to pay Richard the going labor rate as he spent an hour and a half with us and provided peace of mind but he wouldn't take a dime. He certainly earned my husband's admiration and respect that day. Richard will have my family's appreciation for a lifetime. Ever thought of moving to Wisconsin Richard?
