I don't get drunk and drink only 3 light beers and leave. I wrote a book that is at the publisher's right now. I do not talk to woman with romance in mind. I do talk to people to promote my book. I have never groped any woman as I have been accused of doing. There was a recent time where a woman gave me a kiss and put her pant covered legs on my lap and I rubbed them. Next, I asked her if she had kids and she started crying. Willie the bartender told her she can't cry in the bar, or he will ask her to leave. The next day the manager said I was banned, and they have me on tape. Yes, I did rub that woman's leg, but I didn't do anything inappropriate. It used to be a fun place where we could go out to and hang with our friends. The daytime bartenders, Chris, Kathy, and Ross, were awesome. I used to think and feel it was safe here. The crowd has changed. The weekend bartender ran the old crowd out, including us. No one likes to go there because of him. On nights like 4th of July Feast and Tutkey raffel everyone use to pile in but no wants wants to deal with him. He is crabby. That's the nicest thing I can say right now. The crowd seems different. It's gone downhill since the owner died and his wife is about to. Back in the day, it was awesome. I think when EIGHTBALL died, the bar died too. Been coming here for 20 plus years. Comfortable neighborhood bar that bans problem people. If you leave a bad review and complain about being banned then you are the problem. *****~YAY! Bracht's!~***** This place is always fun! For a hole-in-the-wall bar it is pretty clean. They just recently re-did the whole place. They knocked down the wall between the bar and the pool table area and made it into one big circle bar and they put the pool tables in the front area where 8 Ball use to have his Karaoke table. They even made 8 Ball his very own stage where the American Idol's can stand and "sing" to the bar! They even splurged on Flat Screen TV's..haha! As for the woman's bathroom, brace yourself girls...there are now 2 stalls! It use to be just a 1 person bathroom with a constantly plugged toliet and no toliet paper! Simply put, this bar is by far and away the best bar I've ever entered. 8 ball the karaoke king, is literally a walking legend, people come from all over just to see his magic. He always entertains and you will be so impressed with his amazing showmanship. He should have his own TV show, he is the definition of entertainment. The crowd/atmosphere is really what sells this place. I always walk away from Bracht's just a little more enlightened. People here might not be changing the world, but they are making it a little more fun & entertaining. The drinks are top notch, poured to absolute perfection, you know when you walk into Bracht's you have a bartender that cares. Their food is to die for, their late night pizza is just a little taste of heaven. All in all, if you walk into Bracht's on a Friday night, come Saturday morning you will feel like a king! It is INSANE that I never knew this place existed. I don't think it's any secret that I've been known to be a bit of a late night rabble rouser...and this place is open til four a.m!! That is a rarity in this area. It's laughable that someone would say he judges people based on sexuality. I go in there all the time with my gay best friend and we've never been treated any different! Ok I never write reviews let me first start by saying I've been coming to this bar for years now, it's your local, "homey" dive bar. Under my review you will see comments that are not true. I was present for the first mishap between the bartender Ross, and a customer about two years ago and was actually unfortunately present for this one tonight. Ross is a personal friend of mine, and I can first handedly say Ross is not homophobic, Ross was not even working this evening while this took place. Instead this customer went off on a VERY sweet bartender, Kathy, Kathy asked her to politely leave because she was not welcome and the customer CALLED and threatened Kathy some more. Don't listen to the false reviews, if you don't mind being asked for your credit/debit card to be held for a tab, (which is pretty standard anywhere lol) you'll be okay. this bar is nice if you like local hole in the wall bars. This place is alright. Good hole-in-the-wall bar, business is ran well. Drink prices seem to be ok and karaoke nights are always a treat for everyone. Newly installed slot machines are interesting. Men's bathroom is smaller than a janitor's closet, with one toilet and one urinal...awkwardly facing each other. Lately there have been pool sharks hogging up the table, only allowing you to play if you want to bet money and play against them, EXTREMELY annoying. read more

The regular DJ, 8-ball definitely sucks but you gotta give him a little credit for sticking around for the last 100 years or so. He's a nice guy, and it's good to still see him around though. My bf & I went here for karaoke around Feb. It was freezing inside, yet steamy hot in the bathroom. The place looks like it has been there for quite awhile & is nothing special. It didn't appear to be a popular dive, as it was pretty dead even after we arrived around 10pm & finished a pitcher. The karaoke selection was OK, but the sound setup wasn't that good. It was better than some of the tin cans I've heard, but just a blah sound. I don't remember the drink prices being good nor bad. We knew the bartender from a previous dive we used to frequent, & we felt bad when we left after an hour or so, but it was just so blah. Maybe it's a good place for karaoke if you bring a bunch of your friends up there, but it's not a good place for karaoke in general. *Yawns* read more

I've been a regular here for 2+ years (I live right behind it). When I 1st moved to Bartlett I didn't go to Bracht's for 6 months bc I thought I what a dump. Sure it's a dive, but the regulars are all very good people and the bartenders yet older are very friendly. It's like Cheers. It's open til 4a on Friday & Saturday (karoake too) . After 2a can get a lil crowded on Friday & Saturday, but we welcome it. The more the merrier. I'm moving to Elgin in 2 days & I'm honestly gonna miss Bracht's & the people. Also SUCKS! read more

My review is more on Ross the bartender than the actual bar. The bar is your typical dive bar with cheap beer and regular clientele. Went there Wednesday night to meet a friend. Ross asked what I was drinking and I told him. After that he never asked me if I wanted another drink. He just assumed and gave me another drink every time my glass was empty. Well, that's all fine and dandy till I hit my limit. When I did (about 8 drinks later) I told him I didn't order that drink. I've never seen a bartender melt down the way that he did. I asked his co worker (Bobby I think his name was) to check my tab to make sure I wasn't charged for it. Bobby said I wasn't and I believed him. As my friend and I were leaving, a rush of youngsters flooded the bar around midnight. Again, Ross had a melt down and folded like a lawn chair to the stress. His co worker just shook his head and I got the impression from him that this is a reoccurring thing with Ross.
