Very nice German restaurant. Our server was very friendly. They have very big portions, so depending on your appetite you may want to share a dish with someone. It was warm outside when we went as a group for dinner. They have a patio area for outdoor seating. Reasonably priced. read more

Nice Bavarian food in the heart of Weiden. I'm Lso staying in the hotel in a really nice suite. Recommend the hotel abs restaurant. The hotel parking is a little tricky but the rooms are spacious. At the restaurant, I had the pumpkin soup and house. Soup was delicious but wish the portion a little large. Good was well presented and a good portion, but a little dry. Server spoke English but menus are in German. They are willing to make recommendations. Good beer from their brew house, too. Try it out! read more

Visiting Weiden on a Friday night... went to the square in search of Italian pasta, all of the Italian eateries were on vacation (closed). We happened up this little German Food eatery and had a seat. We ordered four hefeweizen beers and each of us ordered a traditional German plate. The beers were "not the best" that we've had in Bavaria, but acceptable. The meals were all pork-based and a reasonable serving on each. Nothing exceptional, a LOT of salt was in each recipe. If you're looking for superb German cuisine, you will not and can not go wrong with Brau Wirt. The food here is always great and delicious. Here you can expand your culinary quest to beyond schnitzel and pommes. Their dishes have the Bavarian touch to it, naturally - the meat are a lot "gamier" which gives the sense of natural preparation of the meat (from field to table). Great variety for you to choose from. Beside the food, Brau Wirt has their own brewing operations. Their menu offers selections of their own beer as well as other beers from brewing locations. There is both outdoor seating and indoor seating. However, I think the indoor seating is only located in a subterranean setting; you will have to walk down a flight of stairs before you get to the indoor dining area. The outdoor seating is great like all the other food and beverage establishments in Weiden. It's great during the summer, so you can fully enjoy the summer ambience and mood of the town. Brau Wirt is a must if you are ever in Weiden, and definitely if you're a resident of Weiden. read more

Great real German atmosphere with a friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the goose with potatoes and red cabbage, with a fine gravy. Fantastic bock beer and nice salad. Would highly recommend for a nice quiet dinner! read more

The location is very cool. Downtown Weiden is a great little city with a lot going on, and this brewery is located in the middle of it. It has an almost cave like atmosphere, but warm and comfortable at the same time. The food is fairly standard fair, and more expensive than most other places we'd gone. The service was great, very friendly with a German & English menu. And our waitress was helpful. Our whole table got the Dunkel and Goulash (which was listed as a house specialty). The food was rich and very filling, and while not bad at all, we'd had a lot better. The atmosphere and service carry this place..but I'd definitely give the food another try. The best of hotels in Weiden. Period. Clean, ample rooms located in the old city along the walking district. English speaking staff that are VERY attentive and accommodating for the guests. They really do everything possible to make guests comfortable. Safe, free underground parking RIGHT BELOW the hotel. No bag dragging. No street side parking search. It's very convenient. Getting in and out with the auto elevator is a little tricky, but with patience and good visual judgement... it's not a real issue. The restaurant is typical German food and the beer is beyond tasty. Way beyond. They have THREE Gold medal winning beers - Helles, Dunkel, and Weissen. All cold. All hearty. All delicious. Breakfast buffet, spa, gym, solarium, free internet... this hotel/restaurant is the cream of the crop in Weiden. read more

The radler with elderflower is my summer favorite and everything from their "farmer's salad" (rough translation) to schnitzel and pork knuckles are popular with us and our friends.
