The location was easy to enter and exit while traveling eastbound on NC Highway 54. Unfortunately, the men's room was very messy and had a foul odor--not the best experience. The coffee area was well maintained, although I had to hunt for the half-and-half. It also had a slop sink, which is a huge bonus for keeping the area clean. Most importantly, my coffee was delicious, and I really enjoyed it. The self-checkout was very slow, and when I asked for assistance, no one came to help. I wasn't planning to purchase gasoline, but I noticed that Sheetz's price was approximately 20 cents per gallon higher than at a station down the street. Overall, the convenient access and delicious coffee were positives, but the messy restroom, lack of assistance, and higher gasoline price detracted from my visit.

There is no turn for northbound customers unless they enter at Purser drive and enter behind Wendy's burgers. A couple of their gas pumps are out of service, so hopefully those will come back in soon. As far as food, I usually order the 2 for $5 lunch with a meatball sub and chicken strips. I get my meatball sub toasted, which depending on the person toasting the sub it could range from a warm sub to a little burnt. I still enjoy it though. If you get chicken strips, it's two pieces and sometimes you get lucky with big pieces and sometimes they are the size of chicken nuggets. They come out fresh and I like the taste so that's a plus. Overall, it's not too bad of a gas station. The service is fairly quick and the food is what you would expect.

While I used to drive by this station frequently, I never stopped due to all the traffic on Capital Blvd and the endless construction cones, barricades and rough road. This too was a pleasant surprise--could the construction be completed in this area near the Wade Ave Exit off Capital? Very very little traffic at 4:15 on a Wednesday afternoon. I only pulled in for gas, paid at the pump with my card--now they have chip reader according to signs this must be new. And I pulled away easily with so little traffic. I got turned onto Speedway when I learned that my Lowe's food gas points could be used on gas at speedway as well. All you have to do is link your Lowe's card to the Speedway app. Also there are points that you earn each time you buy something at Speedway and those points can be redeemed for things such as gift cards, gas cards, food, drinks, and often there are free perks too! On the Speedway app it will show you where the closest Speedway gas stations are and tell you their prices. I decided to review this particular speedway store off of Louisburg Road in Raleigh due to the amazing customer service they provide! Particularly from Shawn, an employee that I know has been there for at least the past year that I've been going. He always has a smile and a kind word. At a lot of convenience stores the staff comes off as not really wanting to be there but not Shawn!
