    Wawa is about at rock bottom with me. It used to be the go to place for great fast food but COVID…read morereally changed things for most of the Wawas in Maryland. I don't frequent this one in Gambrills but I can certainly understand the poor rating. Went in today for lunch and ordered a chicken burrito bowl and small chicken noodle soup. Usually the bowls are pretty decent but not today! The rice and bean were not cooked properly, they were hard in places. And the guy who made it didn't put on the chipotle sauce so it was very dry to eat. I think there was about a half a teaspoon of guacamole that I paid extra for. The chicken noodle soup was mostly broth. And to add insult to injury it was 15 dollars for subpar food. It is very difficult to find workers that care. Sooo disappointed with Wawa anymore.

Came in today 7/6/25 a little after 10AM. A man who clearly has some form of autism came in to get something prepared from the kitchen. He was friendly and talking to the kitchen employees about his last job since the staff was talking about hours. He continued speaking quite a bit which is normal for people with autism. The staff were not engaging with him, which is not even where my problem lies. He got his smoothie from the kitchen, and the kitchen staff didn't even wait until he got out the first door to start loudly CACKLING at him. He had to have heard them. The MANAGER was laughing at him! There was nothing to laugh about. The man was being polite and making conversation. They continued laughing about it saying "Do you know him?! I don't! What the hell?" Even after I got my food and was walking out the door. The employees displayed absolutely disgusting behavior and I am in disbelief they felt comfortable doing it in front of other customers. Needless to say I will be going to ROFO tomorrow.

    Pros: - Great fried…read morechicken, especially when it's freshly made! - Decent selection of beverages and pre-packaged snacks. - Reasonable gas prices. Cons: - The chicken is not always fresh, which is highly disappointing. - Very poor selection of other "deli" items, like sandwiches, hot/prepared snacks, etc. - Gas pumps not always functioning. - Frequent trash overflow outside near pumps. - Very unfriendly staff, for most of our interactions. On the last visit, the doors were locked and police cars were on the scene (lights off). We never got the full story, but there was a group of cyclists that were denied entry, and only two people working inside. It wouldn't have been that terrible, but the RoFo up the street also had their deli closed because only ONE person was working that night. Thank goodness there's a Wawa nearby and a Sheetz on the way. I love RoFo's chicken, but it's a crap shoot whether it's going to be fresh or not, and their deli selection beyond that is paltry at best (you can only have so many potato wedges...).

    In reading the other reviews on here, I see that I am not alone with this location being downright…read moreawful. Here is my story: I pull in just after 11:00pm to get some gas. Pretty basic task that should be problem free. As I pumping the gas I notice this homeless looking guy that was playing around with the overflowing trash bags in the gas pump islands. He had as much trash on him as he did in the bag. I finish pumping and hit the button for receipt. Not surprisingly, it comes up receipt fail. This location ALWAYS has receipts fails. Now I have to go inside to complete my transaction. I follow homeless looking man inside the store, until to watch him go behind the counter, covered in grime. His name was Stephen. Well, Mr. Stephen went behind the counter and was humming tunes and mumbling to himself and doing everything other than wait on the customer. After a 2 minute wait of watching this freak stare at everything but the customer, I finally say "I need a receipt for pump 15". Stephen the freak show artist never says a word and proceeds to hand a receipt off like he is some drunken magician playing a game. An absolute horrendous customer service. Keep in mind, I did not wish to go in in the first place. Their receipt fail started in and Stephen the freak continued the bad experience. I had planned to reach out to a Manager but based on the many comments on here, it sounds as if the Manager is the same. This experience may just be the straw that broke the camels back for me. WaWa may be getting my personal and corporate business in the future. There is no way that any respectful business would have Stephen dealing with the public.
