The station is close to Nundah Village and Southern Cross Way, which links up to the Gateway. The staff are fine, get you in and out quickly. Though I have been in when their EFTPOS was down and the situation wasn't handled very well. Not telling people until they were at the register, and they didn't seem to understand the upset gent in front of me who wanted a receipt. You need to be prepared for these situations, and they certainly were not. The drive way has a number of entrances and exits, and is located on the corner. So whichever direction you're coming from or need to go to, you should be able to easily access this BP.

I'd turned off the engine and had cracked open my door when a young man with a few scallywag hairs on his chin closed it shut again and said "there's no need for that, maam. How much fuel are you getting today?". I was dumbfounded. "Ahhh....$15." The young gent scurried off to fill up my tank. He notioned for me to wind down the passenger window so we could talk about things like the weather and the football. I watched him with a kind of disbelieving smile on my face throughout the entire process. He came back for my money, ran inside and came back in a flash with $5 change. I thought this kind of service was ditched for self service before I was even born. I had been transported to a slower, more polite time. When I told my pa about it, he slapped his knee and spouted a "that's how they used to do it back in the good old days..." which soon turned into a solemn examination of 'what's wrong with the world today'. Ho-hum. So, go there! You'd never expect to be so pleased with a petrol station experience. Know this though- they only offer this service from Monday to Friday. On weekends, you have to fend for yourself.

I had to run errands as well as visit a friend at the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital. As I was driving down Butterfield St towards Bowen Bridge Road, about to go the carpark of the hospital, I suddenly remember there was a BP on the corner of these roads. YES! Alleluia, I'm saved. How convenient, a petrol station just by the hospital was exactly what I needed. I filled up and queued to pay. As I waited in the line, I got tempted by the Wild Bean Cafe here which sells muffins (and the like) and obviously, coffee. I promptly hopped out of line and ordered myself a coffee and got a chocolate muffin. Both were delicious. The muffin was so rich and fluffy and the coffee was very smooth and professionally made. The customer service was just as delightful, with both Wild Bean Cafe staff and the BP staff. Both staff members took time to ask how my morning has been, as they processed payment. So lovely to get this service, especially at a busy petrol station.

It must be one of the few service stations left in Brisbane, if not Australia, that offers such service. Apart from the friendly service, the price of petrol here is better than on the outskirts of the city because it is right next door to an independent Shell and the competition tends to drive the prices down.

They also have nice and friendly staff, an independent mechanic on the premises which is always busy, gas bottle refills or "swap 'n go," and refrigerated cabinets filled with drinks and snacks. What I like most about this place is the ease of pulling in off Waterworks Road and the expediency of the cashier to get you in and out. It's my favourite petrol station and being an RACQ member is simply a bonus!

I believe they do take Woolies vouchers, but really, they don't save you much. I rarely bother, so I could be wrong. But one thing I find to be true in my experience, is the customer service at BP Bowen Hills is always fantastic. I drive past here a lot and have often filled up here for two good reasons. First of all, I find their petrol prices to be fair and never much more than the average price. Second of all, the customer service here is the best. When I go to pay for my petrol I often get some water or chocolate for the drive and the kind staff always point out what deals are on. For example instead of me paying $6.00 or more for two bottles of water, they have directed me to their 2 for $4.50 deal on another water bottle brand. Now, when they point out options to save their customers money, I think thats the best service one can get.
