But I was intrigued, so figured I'd check it out. Now I had no idea what Leo's offered until I went in. Think gas station/convenience store offering locally made food items, freshly prepared bowls/drinks and kolaches. Second guilty admission: never had a kolache. The nice woman behind the counter helped me choose (they were buy one, get one free)! So I chose one egg and cheese, and one spinach and cheese. They were warmed in an oven while I went to grab a coffee and use the restroom, which was very clean and well-stocked. Pro tip: if you want a latte or another specialty coffee, order at the counter. If you want to make your own, go to the coffee bar. It's less expensive, plus they have a variety of sweeteners, Torani syrups, and assorted creamers (including plant-based). The cash register employee let me know when they were ready to go, and my grand total was less than $6. I picked up a few hot sauce packets from the condiment bar and sat down in the dining area to eat. The kolache itself is essentially a small, light sandwich. The bread was soft, with a hint of sweetness. The egg and cheese combo was perfect for my light lunch! I had a bite of the spinach and cheese kolache before I left, which was even more flavorful and cheesy! Can't wait to have it tomorrow morning. The cafe also features freshly prepared smoothies, coffee drinks, salad/potato/pasta bowls as well as soups, with a rotating soup of the day. There's truly something for every taste. I've noticed that this gas station generally has the lowest-cost gas in the area. I like coming here because the gas pump's functions work, and I've not had any issues paying at the pump. Also, the receipt prints out, so there is no need to go inside, which fewer gas pumps are doing these days. Getting gas here is seamless and reliable. This location is very convenient and is easily accessible.

There was only one worker and someone who seemed to be a manage at the checkout area. When I paid, the worker told me that only one card had loaded, and the guy that appeared to be a "manager" had to help figure it out. The line started to grow, but they had to check each card's balance to see which one had the $25 to make sure they gave me the right card. I asked what happened and they just said one card didn't load. They didn't explain why the other card didn't load and just asked if I wanted to purchase another one. Because the line was long, I decided to pass. I've never had issues before, so I'm not sure what happened, it was weird but I didn't feel like holding up the line. I was able to use the loaded card to get gas at the pump successfully. I like to buy the card and use it at the pump for extra speedy rewards. I didn't get receipts for the gift cards due to the confusion, though the pump did print a receipt for my gas. I always get receipts because I scan them for points.

Outside they offer ice, propane, wood for sale. Kind of a one stop shop for everything you might need in a pinch. Obviously prices are more expensive, but it is a convenience store so that's to be expected. Now, I have gone inside a time or two or many for random gas station stuff like a delicious Coke Cola. Inside prices on things are what I'd expect from a convenient place. Imo, had I decided to go to the grocery store, I'm one that would grab stuff I didn't need plus space out why I went in the first place. The only hiccup in this area IS the traffic. If you're trying to roll outta this station, heading South on Emerson, think again. It might not be in your best interest as you'll be dealing with a turn lane from Countyline Road (Westbound), the traffic light (Emerson Northbound), Indygo bus stop, & today's construction. Too many variables in the accident arena. I'd strongly urge turning North on Emerson then manipulate your efforts to the light. It's got an arrow when it's your turn. It took me several minutes to find what I wanted and the cashier was still in a conversation. After standing in line behind another customer the cashier yells that she has self checkout open. I was making an alcohol purchase and knew she would have to check my ID but went anyway. Don't waste your time her as it's not a very convenient convenience store.
