For hours I stood within the confines of this establishment and experienced delight and surprise in many forms. The young women, clubs goers I would assume, dressed in bright, yet minimal garments, shocked at the discovery of water bugs in the bathroom, young men with impassioned spirits (as those of male gender and relatively few years upon this earth generally are) challenging myself to duels and a remarkable selection of prepackaged beverages and "to-go" foodstuffs, accompanied by a wide variety of tobacco products, all showcased in a haunting backlit glow emanating from halogen bulbs, presumably manufactured in a time period near the construction of the pyramids of Giza. Additionally one might note the excellent ingress and egress paths from the main thoroughfare and I do actually believe there may even be music playing. Actually no, there is only a desperate silence radiating from the building, questioning you and your fellow travelers if you have the gall and creativity to create a moment in time that shall clang and clash and ring, heralding an event worthy of sound. Maybe someone vomits behind pump number 3, perhaps a companion knows the lyrics to Nicki Minaj's latest song, and the possibility for a loud discussion on whether joe Rogan is a saint or sinner could echo. When asked about it, the guy working there had no explanation and just said that's their price. Pick anywhere else for gas! *In reply to the owner's comment, his copy-pasted "explanation" from another review noting the same problem is pretty meaningless given that other Exxons on the Hill had prices set around $3.30. This guy is just price gauging because he can.

Possible Card Skimmers - Be Careful…read more I stopped at this gas station because it's the last one before the highway. Everything seemed normal at first--the clerk was acting like any typical store employee. When I went to pay, I tried to tap my card, but it wasn't working. The clerk immediately told me the machine wasn't broken and that I needed to insert my card instead. That raised a small concern for me. I went back to my car to grab a different card and tried tap to pay again, but it still wouldn't work. When I mentioned that the machine might not be functioning properly, the clerk suddenly became very aggressive and upset, insisting I insert the card. After my card finally went through, the clerk became even angrier and tried to kick me out, even though I was already leaving. The reaction seemed very unusual just for pointing out a possible issue with the payment machine. Because of how strongly he pushed for card insertion instead of tap, and how aggressively he reacted when I questioned it, it honestly made me uncomfortable. I'm canceling my cards just to be safe. If you stop here, I'd recommend paying with cash. Also be aware that the staff seemed very rude to multiple customers while I was there.

The pumps are always busy. It may take some time to get one, and you never know which way a person is going to pull into one of the pumps. It is interesting to see how people are oblivious to everything around them. Inside, it is set up like your traditional convenience store. However, smelling like Subway bread the whole time in here. Service inside is not always the best. I found it to be interesting that they would always find a way to run from behind the counter when they see you coming towards it. Or they would simply turn their backs to you. Once one of them finally realizes you are there, it can be a bit congested like it is outside. I think they purposefully leave the one register down because to cater to those seeking lottery tickets. My favorite part here, the display case with all the plastic food that they may have available. Not only is there a Subway inside, but you get your selection of the 7-11 fare.

They were incredibly kind, helped me immediately, and swapped out my damaged tire for the spare faster than I thought was possible--all at no charge. As a broke young professional, I came to this Exxon 3 years ago after I had neglected my car's check engine light for over 8 months. Yes I know, it was stupid but with finances low I chose to put it off instead of dealing with it head first. I brought my car here solely because it was the closest service station to my apartment where I felt my car could MAYBE make it before breaking down (for the love of god my worst nightmare would be broken down in the middle of S. Washington during rush hour. What I didn't expect was the care and respect that the owner gave me. I've been shamed by mechanics before or looked down on as a naive young person. This owner was empathetic and took the time to be completely transparent. When I went home I researched the costs of labor and parts for the services he was going to provide to get my vehicle up and running again and I was honestly getting a very good deal. When I picked my car up the next day the owner then came out to give me the keys and told me that he had a daughter my age with the same car and he was going to make sure it would go for another 100k miles. I cannot tell you how much that made me feel better. Since then I have moved out of state. Since that visit I have only had to have my battery and tires replaced which for my vehicle is pretty average maintenance wise. What I can tell you is that I have made 25 500mi+ road trips this past year in the very same car that I took into this shop thinking I would be told it was a junk car. All I have to say is not only do I trust this establishment but I can easily recommend them to others due to their fair practices and general kindness to their customers.
