Thankfully the familiar red awning showed ahead of me and I knew I would be able to make a quick stop here. Pulled in, found a spot to park, and headed inside. Used the facilities, decently clean, and then browsed the store. I ended up getting my sweet tea and a pack of smokes before returning outside. To me, this location feels tucked away and mostly serves those in the community more so than the travelers on the highway. Which isn't a bad thing.

I understand that it is one of the cheapest places to get fuel, but yikes, people must forget common sense when approaching the pumps. I was in need a fuel and making a Costco stop anyway. That is the only reason I got my fuel here or I would have stopped elsewhere. I pulled in and made my way to the pumps. That is after I made it through the gridlock in the parking lot. Wait my turn to get to a pump and finally get to one. When I got out I pulled out my membership card to scan it and for some reason it kept saying invalid scan or something along those lines. I then pull out my phone to pull up the app to try and scan it that way. I had to completely sign into the app again. Why couldn't it be easier? Finally pump my fuel and attempt to leave the pumps. I knew that I was heading inside to grab a few things and just decided to park my vehicle in one of the spots near the pumps. When I was done inside, I came back to get out of there. It was a nightmare and gridlock to get out of the spot. I feel that they could have positioned the island for fuel elsewhere on the lot so this wouldn't be so difficult to use.

Now mind you this place can get super busy during prime times (5pm-7pm) and weekends so the best time to go is early when they open or around the time the store closes. It opens 6am everyday and closes at least an hour after the store does. Which makes it great to miss the lines. The staff here are friendly and keep the place clean. They are helpful if you have any issues with the terminal, between the card you can swipe/tap and thankfully finally being able to use the costco app its super easy and fast. They have a fair number of pumps and all of them have the super long hoses so you can easily go on either side of the pump and get gas. I dont know enough about cars to speak about the quality of the gas but ive never had an issue in all my years getting gas at costco stations.

They also offer coffee, soft drinks, snacks, beer and wine, lottery tickets, gasoline and much more. If you are passing through Frederick, Maryland, it is an ideal stop off of Interstate 270 for a traveler in need of fuel or a bite to eat or a restroom break. They have a great abundance of fuel pumps offering three grades of gasoline as well as diesel fuel and charging stations for electric vehicles. Prices are competitive. Sheetz stores are located in Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia with plans to expand into Michigan in the near future. When driving from the DMV it feels like the right thing to do to avoid all those highway backups, but in reality, it's not good for your bladder. I was nearing bursting on a stretch of road and was ready to pull over at the first gas station that I saw. At that point, I had no idea where I was or how far I had gotten. I had tuned out the GPS because my eyes were glued to the road to find a bathroom. I finally came out of a tree lined stretch of road and saw the illumination of a gas station. Wawa. Not necessarily my first choice, but I was happy to see the awning once around the trees. Pulled in, parked, nearly ran inside straight to the restroom. Now the one thing that all Wawas seem to lack is their cleanliness of their facilities. I don't know what people do, or don't do, in these restrooms, but they look like the ones you would find in a horror movie. Ones where they have been trashed beyond comprehension. Like how is it that the walls have paint rubbed off of it. All you need is flickering lights and you're set to be the next victim in the upcoming Wawa horror movie. Listen, even though the facilities were not presentable, I still needed to use them. All that horror makeup of the facilities faded away as my bladder returned to E. Outside the facilities, this isn't a bad Wawa. They still do have a lot to offer. I'm still not happy with their food, but I do like the swift convenience offered at the counter. Grab a drink, go to the counter, ask for an item and I was outside. With a lot of my car rides back home I always need to stretch my legs before I get back in the car. I was able to take in a phone call at the same time. While outside, I noticed that this place wasn't very busy this time of day, very early in the morning. After being at another location of the birthplace of Sheetz and coming upon a location that still had fresh brewed iced tea I was still in hopes that not all locations switched over to the dispenser. However, I was not in luck at this location. I was greeted by that disgusting Gold Peak dispenser again. I did end up grabbing some food to go home on. Even if it was without their sweet nectar.
