Oh...listen.
So, I had a question about how to use a giftcard. I also wanted some gas and some drinks. So, I go up to the register with my drinks, I have the pump number, etc. I say, "I'd like to use this giftcard". The man at the register is already starting on the wrong foot by looking like my existence on this earth is an offense to him; what happened next was...just...bizarre. He looks at me and, with a tone of annoyance, says, "so, what're we doing?" At the time, I didn't understand what he was asking me. I understood the words that were coming out of his mouth, but I didn't know how to answer such a broad, philosophical question. Do I give him the answer I was handed during vacation bible school? Do I give him the answer that *I* believe now? I...I don't know.... So, I say, "I'd like to get these two drinks, some gas at pump three, and I'd like to use this giftcard...." The man looks at me with amused annoyance like I'm an idiot and says, "how much gas do you want, man?" At this point, I was done. My blood pressure has been incredibly high recently--170/110 (no, really--if I wasn't careful, I was going to have a stroke)--and I new that I needed to keep it cool. But, I was not a happy bunny. I looked his arrogance in the face and said, "there's no need for the attitude, man, so cut it out." The guy laughs at me, so I turned around, put my drinks back into the cooler (because I'm nice like that), and left.
Also, most of the pumps weren't working, and pump three didn't even have the number and yes/no buttons on the pump. Get it together, BP...get it together. read more
