Horrible experience! I bought an arrangement of flowers for my wife as a Mother's Day gift. The original arrangement looked very nice on the website, but I even got the Deluxe arrangement. It cost $110...and I put a tip onto my order for whoever prepared it. When I showed up to pick it up, I couldn't believe my eyes! I asked the young lady if this was the deluxe version, and she said yes. I then said that by NO MEANS did this look like a hundred and ten dollars of flowers!! Her response was "I know, and I'm sorry." She then gave me some outlandish excuse as to why, but then offered to put more flowers into the arrangement. My question was WHY wasn't that done in the FIRST PLACE?!?! I will NEVER give them any more of my business, and will let EVERYONE know not to patronize this establishment!!!! read more

I called and they said they weren't delivered and the reason was "I don't know why they weren't delivered." They offered a refund and to send a complimentary order of which both were not received. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BOYD'S FLORIST!!! If I could take stars away, I would. While my experience wasn't as bad as the review I read about them missing someone's funeral, (my heart goes out to those people), it was still unpleasant. I ordered flowers for Valentine's Day, spending $183 (including service fees, tips, delivery, etc.). And for what? They never delivered the product and failed to communicate any delays or issues. I called and emailed multiple times throughout the day to adjust the delivery, but received zero response. When I realized they closed at 6 PM and the flowers were still not delivered, I tried their automated chat and texted their direct line (which no one answers). At 5:57 PM, I texted them, and at 6:06 PM, I received a response saying, "Hi Fran, we are still delivering as we speak - Boyd's Flowers." I requested to adjust the delivery address, but received no further communication. At 10:12 PM, I received an email apologizing for their inability to deliver on time and offering to deliver the next morning with an upgrade and free chocolates. Despite the apology, I was frustrated by the lack of communication throughout the day. It's outrageous that they took my money and failed to deliver the service. Their website claims they provide great customer service, the finest floral arrangements, and go the extra mile. This is a lie. They caused me significant inconvenience and spoiled Valentine's Day for me and my significant other. At the time of this review, I still haven't received my $183 refund. I live in another state and wanted flowers sent for a funeral. I described the type of service and Melissa patiently suggested floral arrangements that would be appropriate. I had to call her several times because I initially had the wrong information for the location. The arrangement she suggested was perfect for the individual we were honoring. Although she had many orders to complete for different occasions, Melissa wanted to make sure I was satisfied with my selection and the additional recommendations she made. This was a difficult time for me and Melissa's soft speaking tone and patience helped me get through this period. Melissa is definitely in the right business. Water replenished however these roses faded the next day & are now almost dead 2 days later. I feel bad for my husband who ordered these as an expression of love with his hard earned money. Boyds Flowers came through for me with flying colors even though I experienced internet problems when placing my order. While completing my internet order over the weekend , the Boyds website suddenly shut down just after I added my credit card information. I assumed my order did not go through so I pulled up their website again and properly placed my order. To my surprise I received two order confirmations! On Monday, I called Boyds and spoke with Somal explaining what happened. I gave her to order number to cancel and was assured this order was indeed cancelled, and I could expect a refund in 7-10 business days. To my surprise two identical flower arrangements were delivered to my Aunt Gail on Wednesday. I was shocked and saddened. Finally, on Thursday, the manager named Helen apologized for the mix-up and assured me my refund will occur as noted above. These are tough times for all small businesses nationwide as labor/staffing shortages continue. I will continue to send my flower delivery needs to Boyds Flowers's website yet I will be extra careful when it comes time to add my credit card information. I have used Boyd's several times previously. I ordered flowers to be delivered on a Wednesday . After not receiving a delivery confirmation, I called Thursday morning. First person I got told me"the flowers are delivered" I Mentioned I did not receive a confirmation. The person says your email isn't in here.... I thought that was strange because every other time I've ordered flowers I have received confirmations. So I contact the recipient and ruin the surprise. Nope no flowers here. I call back! This person was more helpful. "Sir I'm sorry. We will get the flowers delivered today." I call back in the afternoon. "I'm sorry sir we have to get the cancelation in the system prior to getting the new order out. Would you like delivery for tomorrow, or cancel???" I canceled and will never come back. Just called Boyd's Flowers on Pennsylvania Ave....HORRIBLE SERVICE! 1. The first person I got had mumble mouth & quickly put me on hold....I waited 4 minutes & no one ever came back to help me! 2. I called back & the second person I got could not help me find a Teleflora Florist in Smyrna! "I suppose I could look it up on Google for you?"...kind of a snide remark so not helpful AT ALL! I like to shop @ "brick & mortar" florists for better service & to help small businesses but in this case not very helpful & rude! Many florists you see online are not local & are just an online company that farm their ordered out to florist or MANY times not & they are made in a warehouse! I called Boyd's to give them the business but now they charge a "call out" fee if your order is out of their range (always was a fee service w/ Boyd's before) & order needs to be $70+ not including shipping for them to process my order! So we are probably looking at a $100 total bill when things are all said & done! NOPE!!! BOY HAVE THINGS CHANGED over there! I worked @ Boyd's for many years back in 2010-14 & we had a standard for customer service! I have to say I was shocked w/ the way my phone call was handled! Sunday we had tragic funeral services for a precious, very young man. I have not been so sad in a long time. This funeral was healing to family and friends in many ways. I placed an order online to be sent to a family member in the hospital (the Toddler Busy Bucket) and requested a few changes to accommodate food allergies. Jackie at Boyd's emailed me to confirm the changes (which I really appreciated) and it was delivered same day. I couldn't be more pleased with the communication and ease of ordering online. My little cousin really loved the gift, as well. One thing, however, is that even though the site says there are order takers available 24/7, I was unable to reach anyone when I called after business hours yesterday or around 9:15 this morning. My husband has been bringing home flowers from Boyd's for years (including this past Valentine's) and I'm always in amazement at just how fresh and beautifully arranged they are. Mostly the FRESH aspect. Their flower arrangements have always lasted over TWO WEEKS before they look like they're fading. I fill the water in the vase at least two full times during that time. Most flowers from other places are already half way fading when I've received them so I never have to re-fill the vase. These flowers actually get more beautiful as time goes by and more and more buds open! It's just amazing, and as if they literally cut the flowers at the time they're purchased. I wanted to order an arrangement and asked if the shop could order garden roses. She said May. I asked if she meant May of 2012 and she said yes. I felt a great need to write this review because of how easy it was to use Boyds Flowers. After searching online and knowing that flower deliveries usually add service and delivery fees, I decided to shop the local florists. I know Boyds is a staple florist in the area so I went to their website. The Get Well selection was limited (which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars) but I found a beautiful arrangement. I called the store because I didn't have a room number at the hospital at the time of placing the order and wasn't sure how this was going to go down. I spoke to Wendy who relieved all of my stress by telling me they don't charge service fees. The price on the website is the price I will be charges and, I will add, it was a very reasonable price. She explained that they will call the hospital before delivery to ensure a room is assigned and the delivery can be completed. She advised that if there isn't a room assigned that they cannot deliver and I will not be charged. I understand this. The delivery was scheduled the day before Christmas so it is also a hectic time. At noon, on the day of scheduled delivery, I received an email confirmation that the flowers were delivered. My friend was having brain surgery and it was comforting knowing that she received the get well wishes and flowers timely. Later after she recovered, she text me a picture of the bouquet and said how beautiful they were to look at while in her hospital room. Boyds will be my go-florist. Have ordered flowers many times from Boyd's for many different occasions (mother's day, anniversary, etc), but am just now leaving a review. The quality of the flowers and their arrangements always stand out. Attended a funeral today where the flowers we sent from Boyd's arrived the day before. The family of the deceased told us that our arrangement stood head and shoulders above all the rest. They placed it front and center where it could be seen by all. I know from talking with others who sent flowers that they paid more and got a larger quantity of flowers, but we paid a little less and got a whole lot more in terms of quality and style. EVERY TIME I have received a plant, roses or other flowers, they have been very healthy and VERY LONG-LASTING. Take, for example, the absolutely GORGEOUS long stem coral and cream roses I ordered for my Mom's funeral. The funeral was over one week ago and the roses are still stunning. I couldn't open the front door because of this- I had to knock the vase over with the door in order to open it- spilled water out and mussed up the arrangement a little. I ordered the "Can't lose" dozen red roses for my daughter in law for the birth of our granddaughter. The roses were absolutely beautiful. They arrived before she even left the recovery room. As I was carrying them from recovery to her room everyone we passed made comment on how beautiful they were and that is exactly the reaction I wanted. Wendy was very helpful when I had to call the shop after a little confusion on my part when trying to order online. She was extremely nice and cordial and I really appreciated her help. Sadly, this is a mixed review. After extensive researching, it appeared Boyd's would be the best florist in the area. The occasion is my beloved aunt's funeral. The arrangement selected is gorgeous and the top of the line but the customer service for me, will be at the very bottom. Wendy, who took my order, was curt and insensitive. Yes, florists deal with happy occasions most of the time, but in this case, placing the order during my grief was made even more stressful. Placed an order for a holiday arrangement with a specific request to add an item that was important for the day. Placed this order on the phone directly with Boyd's. The person taking the order was great to work with, but that is where it stopped. The arrangement arrived without the specific request. I called to make Boyd's aware, they confirmed that my request was on my account, but the design center missed it. They were not interested in my comments until I said that would write a review, then they wanted to send the item out separately. Unfortunately, it is too late in the day.
