And it has surpassed our expectations. Listening to my scanner and these folks respond to command within a few seconds of the call. And then shortly are in route. Simply the best fire & rescue in the area.....and they are volunteers!!! Seen them work a couple of local brush fires and auto accidents. We are lucky to have a fire chief and first responders that perform at such a high level out of their generosity and desire to help our community. Not to mention, throw a great country fair and now added a haunted house truck-or-treat for the community. God bless all of the Volunteers at Southern Dallas County Fire Rescue District!!!!

As we were approached by the first physical…read morecontact who was a lady who oversaw the graveyard, she spoke to my daughter in a hateful manner to "turn her light off in her graveyard." My daughter simply had her cell phone on to see better through the trail. Moments later, this lady grabbed my daughter's phone and stormed off... we thought she was messing with us. About the time I was about to look for her, she reappeared and returned the phone and informed my daughter to "keep the light off or she'll be told to leave!" This lady obviously takes her task way too seriously and you just don't grab someone's phone from them and talk down to them. It's not like my daughter was using a spotlight and we were the only group at that area at that time, so nobody was bothered by the "mighty" cell phone light. Keep your money folks and go where you're treated with respect.

Mama Bear came UNDONE along with the rest of our group. Management sucks and has no clue how to conduct customer service or genuine concern for their attendees. Would barely give the owners name (said it was Jim Kelley but who knows) would not give any contact information. Ruined the entire rest of the park for us and refused any type of refund for any portion of their poor setup. We were so excited and now won't be back. We've been several years in a row and have never experienced anything like this disappointment. It was so silly and so unnecessary. I left a review on their FB and the dude that actually did it wanted to argue with me and then of course it was all deleted because he made himself sound stupid and I'm sure the uppers don't care for that sort of thing.

There are shows happening all day long, from live music and bluegrass to comedy and saloon-style performances. Depending on the season, there are also special productions throughout the park. It's nice to be able to sit down, take a break, and still feel like you're part of the experience. And since the shows are included with admission, it adds a lot of value to your visit. It's also a great spot if you have younger kids. There is plenty for them to do beyond just rides, including play areas, interactive attractions, and even a train ride. It's not one of those parks where little kids are limited. They can stay busy all day. The whole park has a really cool 1880s theme and is honestly one of the most beautiful theme parks I've been to. Between the shops, craftsmen, and scenery, it feels more like an experience than just rides. That said, be ready for a lot of walking. This park is very hilly and you will feel it by the end of the day. Lines can also get long during busy times. Overall, it's a really unique place with a ton to do for all ages. Between the shows, rides, and kid-friendly activities, you can easily spend a full day here and still not see everything.
