Worse in service and equipment. Issues daily regarding lack of quality. Feel cheated and scammed by these Price Gouging local owners.

What is there to do when you're trapped down in the Ozarks?…read more Super Wal-mart? Check. Imitation Waffle Houses? Check 10x as many beauty parlors as bars? Check. Internet? Luckily... check. Grandma and grandpa have had cable internet from IMS, aka SeMO.net for several years, making it a tad more palatable to spend a few days in the northern-most reaches of the bible belt. This year, I planned ahead. I brought my wireless router and two laptops from home (sorry, Grandpa, 64MB RAM doesn't cut it). Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, support had already closed on Christmas Eve... I had to spend a full 36 hours in the Ozarks without my interwebs. But this morning, I contacted Technical Support, and they hooked me up. And it turns out they hooked their regular customers up too: they've done away with PPPoE and all the other anachronistic network protocols they used to force upon their customers. So, as the only ISP in this neck of the woods and helpful tech support: 5 stars. But I've got to dock them for not having 24 hour tech support. Making me go without access to the outside world for 36 hours - now that's just wrong.

I can honestly say that we have loss of signal at least 3 times a week. We have never received the internet speed that we pay for, when we run a speed test it's always well below what we have been promised, and their customer service is Mickey Mouse at best. We are currently looking for another ISP and as soon as we find one we're gone. If you are considering getting internet service in the Poplar Bluff area DO NOT use Semo.Net, you will get bad service, slow speeds, and customer service with an attitude, run the other way as fast as you can. You are better off with two tin cans with a string running between them than the sub standard service that Semo.Net has to offer. I give them one star tho they deserve less than that. WORST ISP EVER.

New Wave Communications has gone downhill quite a bit since my first review 2 years ago. They no…read morelonger have 24/7 customer support, their automated phone system is broken regularly, and I lose my internet 1-3 times per day for no reason. They also deleted their page that showed a calendar with their scheduled maintenance downtimes. While the speeds are still good and bandwidth still uncapped, sadly I would now classify them as an unreliable internet provider. I certainly would NOT ever consider using their internet or phone services for business purposes, as they can not even maintain their own phone system.

Their customer service is a joke. Their infrastructure is an even bigger joke. I have a 100 Mbps download speed, and it drops down to 1 Mbps constantly. When I moved into my residence, I chose them because of the rates. I have had a technician out to my residence 4 times just to handle faulty wires and connections leading from the pole to my home. I have had to replace my modem from them 2 times. As of the time writing this review, they claim to have upgraded the service. As of the time writing this review, I cannot even stream a movie or anything without interruption in the content being played. Stay away from this company.
