I signed up for a 12-month membership at Boxing Fit University, thinking it would be a straightforward commitment. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that canceling is nearly impossible. Even if you move to another city or can no longer attend, they continue charging you--no exceptions. Worse still, your payments don't stop after the 12-month contract ends. They automatically switch to a month-to-month charge until you submit a written cancellation request. I couldn't attend after just 3 or 4 months, and today, I realized they've been charging me for an entire extra year beyond my original contract--just because I never sent an official cancellation letter. This was the worst class to attend. I took the class and it was not kick boxing. It was a workout class making me run back and forth. I can do that anywhere. also, the instructor did a terrible job teaching. The only thing she was concerned about was how she looked in the mirror when squatting. Her hair was down and it was oddly sexual for a class of young girls. She did nothing with helping form placements and Motivation. I have been a member with Boxing Inc. for years and am infuriated with how I have been treated in the last few months by their staff and management. I have been calling for months to freeze my account. I called 4 times in November and spoke with staff to ensure that my account was frozen and that I would not continue to be billed. Again, I have been billed and when I tried to speak to someone to dispute, they stated there was no record of me calling the month before and there was nothing they can do about the charges on my card. Terrible customer service, especially considering how long I have been a member at Boxing Inc. University. They are charging members during Covid who don't feel comfortable going to the gym. I've never been in shape all my life but starting here was pretty much the best thing I've ever done as starting a healthier lifestyle of choice . The instructors are so great at their jobs and really know how to put a hell of a work out.(especially the woman's kick boxing) you will always find and meet friendly people. I've been overweight all my life. I'm fat and what you would call a big boy, a real big boy. All I've wanted to do for years is lose weight so I could finally feel healthy again and go to the beach. I was hoping this place would help me achieve my goal but when I told them my goals all I would get were laughs. They would make constant comments ridiculing me as I tried my best to do the workouts. Jake broke down boxing for me in a series of steps: first footwork, then a few basic punches, then combos of footwork and punches, then combinations and focus mitt work. Chris also helped me during one session, and did a great job teaching me some basics. The classes also help you respond more quickly to spoken prompts, and build cardio and agility. In the short time I've been boxing, I've learned a couple of things: 1) that I've made a start, but have a long way to go; and 2) acquiring new skills is possible if you feel how you move and don't overthink. I have been going here since October and I like the women's boxing class. It's an hour long and really kicks your butt - in a good way! It's no frills and I wonder how they clean and how often - the square mats on the floor are pretty moist with sweat. Lol! Parking can be a challenge but just get there a few minutes early as the prior class is leaving you can get a spot. The "trainers" are sneaky and even after your contract is up they somehow still charge you and when you try and cancel it they jockey you around to make it difficult. I was told I had to come in and do it in person and was unable to. When I tried doing it on the phone with someone else there was no issue about coming in but even after my contract has been up for 2 months, I was told I had to give them a 30 day notice so they charged me another month that I have not been in. If you are looking for a place to burn calories in a quick hour this is the place for you! But you have to be willing to put in the work. Boxing Inc University is my favorite cardio class and I owe them a thank you for my increase in self confidence with my toned body! These classes go by so fast because EVERY class is different, energetic and incredibly challenging. I hate cardio but I love Boxing! This is a great place to take out your frustrations from work, school or your personal life and is guaranteed going to make you incredibly sweaty and tired. All of the trainers are very personable and nice. This is a fitness class but you have the opportunity to learn more technical boxing moves by signing up for personal training with some really knowledgeable trainers. I have read some of the reviews below and my response is this: A. No one unknowingly signs a contract for anything. If you don't read something you are signing ESPECIALLY while handing over a credit card that is a life mistake. Maybe next time review what you are signing, that's why its called a contract it is laid out for you. B. This establishment doesn't act like its going to teach you to be Mohammed Ali. The purpose of this class is to help you shed pounds in a fun, new way so that classes are challenging but keep you coming back. where do I begin? This place is shit wrapped in golden foil, meaning that at first glance, it looks great but once you see that inside is shit, you realize that you were scammed. None of the trainers here are actual fighters, think of them as personal trainers that know some combinations. Two of the trainers are legit. Ray boxes for the army and Jay has a purple belt in jiu jitsu. But the other trainers are tools, they found a job where they can look tough for the college girls. Additionally they enforced charges beyond the year of contract as a result of COVID-19 closings despite services being changed and canceled sessions. They also failed to communicate when they disconnected from Boxing Inc and I was no longer able to attend classes at the gym closest to me. Classes were good. The best work out I've ever done. EVER. I worked out here for 5 years, until I moved away for work. I was in the best shape of my life (like ever...) when I worked out at Boxing inc. This place helped me attain the physique I never thought was even possible with my body type. This is THE BEST WORK OUT you can get. I miss this place every damn damn day. They need to stop being selfish and open up more Boxing Incs all over the country. PS No disrespect, but negative reviews about this place seem like complete BS that comes from whiny ass girls that can neither read the most basic contract, nor write an even more basic review. All you have to do is to read the not-so-fine print, so you don't get all surprised (*mind-blown*) when you get charged for things you actually signed up for. I've had ZERO issues with billing or anything related to membership dues during the FIVE years that I was a member at this gym. There was never a time the owner or one of the managers weren't willing to work with me and figure out a payment plan. I stumbled across Boxing Inc's set up while working at Family Weekend at The University of Arizona. Seeing the booth could not come at a better time as I was itching for a boxing class. As a full time traveler for work, I find it difficult to find a boxing facility, especially geared toward men and women. I have been taking kickboxing on and off for a few years when I lived in Ohio and a handful of classes during a temporary move to Utah. I took a Sparring class Friday evening with Joe. I was a tad intimidated as the regulars know the numbers to hits reference and did my best to stay coordinated and on beat. I realized every kickboxing class I have taken before was a warm up (plus I'm used to the softer bags.) If you are looking for a challenge then I suggest you grab a water jug and get your butt to class. Ladies looking to tone arms and back (rid yourself of the bat wings and stress), I highly suggest any boxing class to get you in tip top shape. Bring a towel. Both personnel and instructors are helpful, patient and work with you to suit your needs. I believe they have monthly membership. I paid a daily rate. After giving 30 days notice, I was told that we would have to pay for the following month as well because we were leaving after this month has been paid for?! I graduated from UofA as a track athlete. I needed to find something to keep me in shape that was not your traditional gym. The workouts here are fantastic, challenging, and motivating. It's the perfect mix and not your standard boring gym workout. I usually go to the women's kickboxing class, but have done the regular boxing classes as well. You receive a free private once you sign up for a membership. I decided to do a one year membership and a few privates to learn technique. If you sign a contract with them you CAN get out of it. For anyone to signs something and expects to just stop paying without calling then you should be more aware of what a contract is. 100% recommend! read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Recently I had fraud occur on my bank account and had to get a new debit card. With all my traveling for work it slipped my mind to change my card at the gym (my account was suppose to be on hold anyways). So I returned the call Dee made to fix the issue and she stated that I owed $95. I thought that was insane because 1. It's suppose to be on hold and 2. They added a late fee, which I totally understand! But after I just explained my situation I was kind of hoping they would help out and I would just pay the $70, even though it was suppose to be on hold! She stated "it was my fault that I didn't change my card". Got it, didn't like her tone so I asked for the manager. She stated she was the manager...that place is doomed if she is. I joined boxing inc because I thought it was a fun hobby as a college student and on my first day I was rushed in signing the contract in order to join the first class and never did they go over with the terms with me. Unknowingly, I had signed a two year contract. One of my biggest concerns before signing was, what would happen during the summer or winter breaks when I leave town and Chris assured me that they would freeze my account. Once winter came around, I called to freeze my account only to find out I had to pay 25 dollars!!! Boxing is fun but the malicious ways in which boxing Inc operates has made me hate the whole experience!! They only care about your money. COLLEGE STUDENTS don't get fooled by them. There are way better places to do boxing that care about you and not your money. Don't go here it's the worst place ever and they just end up taking all of your money for a full 2 years with out you knowing but good luck if u do! I would put zero stars but that's not an option!
