Little dive bar located between Glenn Heights and Cedar Hill. I have only visited a few times to meet friends as it's close to my home in Ovilla. It has its own group of regulars who are extremely friendly. On certain Sundays it host a lot of motorcycle fund raisers and rallies. It gets really packed. They have live music on Wednesdays. Karaoke every Thursday and Saturday. And usually a cool band Friday evenings. The owners are very gracious and inviting. The drinks are good and well priced. My only advice, leave before closing time or make sure you have a designated driver. It's payday for the police force in Ovilla, Cedar Hill, and Glenn Heights. Came here with some of my my girlfriends and it was realy nice. It s located in the Southwest Dallas area. The drinks are really good and they have a live band and it is a very nice touch. The ladies wanted to do Karaoke and this place fit the bill. However we got the dates mixed up and had the live band imstead We were having a blast and the bar & patio had a nice crowd. I would pass by Boxcar so many times and when my girlfriend wanted to come we just decided to give it a try. It is a mixed crowd and the drinks are at a really reasonable price. Great little bar, not far from Dallas.....perfect for the southern region. The owners are down to earth and usually onsite - great people! The prices are fair and the specials are good. Live music, interesting people....new faces and regulars each time I have visited. The only down side is the outdoor smoking rule....BUT they have done everything in their power to make the outside areas (covered and uncovered) cool to hangout in with a few friends or large groups. Stopped in here because it was one of the closer bars I could find from my friend's house in Duncanville. It was SUPER packed. It was karaoke night, and it seemed most people were there for that. Drinks were pretty cheap, which pleased us (we do most of our drinking in Dallas, so the prices here were pretty unexpected for us). My friend is a martini drinker, and they didn't have martini glasses - no big deal, we didn't exactly expect them to, and it's not like the glass changes the drink. She said it was a good martini - I wouldn't know. I stuck to a Jack and Coke, and followed up with Stella cider. They have pool tables, or at least one pool table. I couldn't really see, we were on the other side of the bar. The bartenders were really nice, and super fast. One of them looked like she was moving at the speed of light when she pulled her bottle opener out of her back pocket and popped the caps off of like, 8 beers. The clientele was friendly, although we did get some strange looks, probably due to our clothing choice. We were wearing what we'd typically wear if we went to bars in Dallas, and everyone there was super casual. I didn't like the scanning of my ID. I've had it done at other bars, too, and I kind of hate it every time. I understand that it may be a necessity, especially a neighborhood bar like this where they might get more underage people trying to get in. Still, though, not a fan. read more

Went here for office Karaoke Christmas party. We had a blast! They had a decent selection of craft beers. They do offer snack food, although we didn't try it. Patrons were young and old, nice variety. Two pool tables and a hand-shuffleboard table. Decent bathroom. We'll be back! read more

I got a beer and a drink and is so over priced the drink tasted flat as ever , I like mines made a certain way she acted like she wasn't hearing it well it was so flat I drank it quick and order a crown and butter shot that wasn't even half a pinky full and she charged the same has the tall glass drink , for her info that drink was suppose to a mix drink not a shot chic ! Being that she didn't make to my liking I asked to stay with my other drink she really says "I don't think I'd should serve you another" so this was in the afternoon and no one was in there she didn't even care to talk just mean nasty ADITUDE ! 1 drink and basically a shot never in my life have I been told no IN A BAR AFTER JUST pretty much. 1 wow well I think it was because she had to GO POOP AND I CAME IN AND SHE HAD TO HOLD IT !
