Adorable (well, everything is adorable in Taos; it's the southwestern charm for sure!) but it's more than what its appearance says it all. You have to try their products and see for yourself. What I got me were a few bon bons and a chocolate torte (the whiskey kind). -Miso Caramel: is shaped like a mushroom. Even if you might not be a fan of miso based (everything), you should try these bon bons anyway as they don't taste like miso at all. I was quite shocked with this myself (well, I like miso soup; miso taste doesn't bother me at all. Even so, Miso chocolate candy was something I didn't know what to expect out of. That is why I am saying that I was surprised by it.) -New Mexico , Spicy: was also surprising. The kick in these tiny pieces was quite mighty and yet it was tolerable. -Whisky Torte: All sorts of organic ingredients are used to make these delightful tortes. Tortes tend to be a lot heavier than traditional cakes as their texture is that of fudge. And yet, that shouldn't be a reason for you to steer clear from it as this chocolatier perfected the torte in a way that it will not be too rich or heavy for your taste or stomach. At least that is what I thought when I tasted it. Another must-try item on their menu offerings. For its interior, it's mostly and simply grey on walls but this emits the "chicness" that doesn't overshadow the theme of its business. You should also pay attention to the ceilings and the floors. A careful attention to entertain the guests' eyes is seen throughout. Service was good. I first went here late in the afternoon (close to its closing time). I quickly glanced at each section of the store inside. The kind gentleman upfront wanted to assist me but after asking him if it was open tomorrow (it would be Sunday), he said yes to which I gave him my promise that I would be back tomorrow. The same man assisted me when I was back the very next day to make a purchase. Not sure if he remembered me or not. It's not chocolate bon bons or tortes you can enjoy at this store. The café offers tasting trios, mocha, chocolate mouse, ice cream, affogato, hot chocolate, and espresso and so on. This is a haven for chocolate fanatics.

We definitely preferred to European style with almond milk, but I think that we would like the more traditional ones if they were made with milk. We also really liked the brownies, though the Aztec brownie + ice cream gave me an intense caffeine overload--my fault! Our first time here we each got an ice cream, both with fudge and whipped cream. As I said, while the Aztec was delicious, it really was too much for me, but I still ate the whole thing! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my husband's mint chocolate chip--the peppermint flavor was real--it tasted like they soaked the milk with peppermint leaves to make it, and it was so refreshing! We liked the chocolate truffles and bon bons so much that we ended up buying them as gifts. Our favorite flavors were the sage/goat cheese, peanut butter bar, Aztec round, bourbon pecan, and lavender. Finally, the service was outstanding. The servers were so kind, patient, and helpful. Our first trip the server took the time to write each flavor on our box of chocolates so that we would know what was what. The second server listened as we decided which treats were for which friends, and he wrote their names on each box before wrapping them. So very kind!

The quality of the product definitely stands out. Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the chocolates. When we asked about the different varieties and flavor differences to help decide what to purchase, the response felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a specialty chocolate shop, customers should be able to expect knowledgeable and engaging guidance, especially when navigating a premium selection. Instead, it felt as though our questions were an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to share expertise and enhance the experience. The lack of warmth and customer engagement significantly took away from what should have been a memorable experience.

These goods are so cray, they're loco with a K!…read more This little slice of frozen heaven was the perfect way to break up the monotony of a day spent sitting around an airbnb, playing bored -- I mean, board -- games. We needed sugar, the place popped up on my app, ten minutes away, we said What the hey. Walking in, I was kinda speechless: horchata and aguas frescas, ice cream, paletas. Wait, is that crepe cookware I see over there? Indeed. And nachos and Mexican candies and and and... The kid got an ice cream cone (two scoops, thanks Dad! That's why I ask you, first) and Laura scored a Nutella crepe with fresh strawberries. Me? You know Howie do it... My Chamango, featuring (of course) the basic starters of mango and chamoy, was salvation and a wild friggin' ride of flavor and texture, highly recommended. I had one little plastic spoon and some serious chewing to do, with foreign nugs of red, orange and brown I-had-no-idea to sink my teeth into and let me just say that often my teeth literally did sink, and then stuck together, for quite some time. Peanuts, tajín, salt, dehydrated lime and sweet sticky sugar for days, with a splash of fresh fruit. YASSSSS.

Brittle seems like the candy I'll be lightly chewing, against doctor's orders, when I get my first pair of dentures, and fudge never comes close to satiating my cacao addiction, it's never dark or rich enough, it's like shoveling chocolate flavored sugar into my jowls. So when I entered this place, hoping to bring home candy for the fam, I was kinda dismayed. But the owner, Mike, was just so darned friendly, I was compelled to dig deeper. Oh yes, Mike, do tell me about your impressive gingerbread house, how did you make those marshmallows look like snow? Yes, Mike, I'll take a sample of your biscochito brittle (honestly goooood). Mike, is this a Harry Potter candy table? Why, now this, Mike, this is something that would definitely appeal to my Potterhead kiddo. Why yes, Mike, I'll take some of those Bertie Botts beans. And she'll appreciate my bribery. To summarize: I like candy shops, and it takes a certain personality, a Mike, to make such a shop win. Visit this place if only to enjoy a conversation with this Mike guy, learn about how his wife insisted on the Potter table, how his son is excelling at school, these kinds of things that remind us that small businesses with devoted owners can remove us from our stressed-out everyday existence and deliver down home conversation that simply sticks with you, like the calories in those biscochito brittle bites.
