Angels Rest is located on Lowell Point just 2 miles down the dirt road form Seward and is an amazing place to get away for the weekend. My wife and I got engaged there early last year and just recently went back. We stayed in the Wing Cabin both times and just loved it. It had a great little kitchen and 2 rocking chairs in from of the two large windows overlooking the bay and the mountains. The binoculars are a great treat for watching the sea life play just off shore. Don't forget to bring a book!! It is real close to town and it's really not that far from Safeway. They offer a 5% discount for paying in cash. The bed was extremely comfortable too!! The cabins were very clean and the kitchen has enough plates, silverware, and cooking utensils for making what ever floats your boat. The kitchen also has a small fridge and they also provide a cooler to use. On the deck there is a gas BBQ grill and each cabin has it's own fire pit outside for use when warm enough. I believe they also sell ice and firewood if you forget yours. They are very good about getting back to you quickly if they are not able to answer the phone. You can also contact them by text or email. Check out their website: www.angelsrest.com I highly recommend taking a weekend trip down there if you really want to get away from it all!!!

There are lots of great restaurant options in Seward, but it's so nice to be able to make your own breakfasts in your jammies. The kitchenette also came in handy for dinner one night, after we picked up fresh salmon near the pier at Capt Jack's. The cabin is surrounded by plants and trees that make it feel cozy and private, even though there are other cabins around it - so much nicer than staying in a hotel with hordes of other tourists surrounded by parking lots. There's a porch with fantastic water views, a small grill and two chairs. We picked up firewood and marshmallows for the firepit out front, which has a small bench. The stony beach is populated with ducks, gulls and cormorants tottering around the tidepools. On our last night we saw three eagles fishing, a sea otter lounging in the surf, and a harbor seal swim by. There were beautiful, tiny hummingbirds that visited the feeders on the porch every day. A number of kayak rental places dotted the road toward Lowell Point State Rec park - which is a short walk down the beach, and has some great hikes. Paul and Lynda have provided a wealth of information in a binder on tons of hikes and scenic drives all over the area, and well as recommendations for dining, tours, etc. The cabin is artistic-rustic-style, with pine ceilings and handmade headboard, but far more comfortable than we expected. The lovely accommodations and setting, coupled with the hosts' attention to detail and quick response to questions, make this the perfect place for your visit to the Kenai peninsula.

They love what they do, but also like to give visitors their privacy to come and go as they please. They decorated this place themselves and really pay lots of attention to detail (it shows!) We stayed in the low tide room and it was just wonderful. It has so many amenities, was very clean, and they made amazing use of the space. Everything looked new and placed with so much love. The low tide has a separate bedroom and bathroom and a small living/kitchen area with a nice little fireplace. The theme is nautical decor throughout and beautiful photography from landscapes in Alaska. One of the coolest things was the ceiling in the bedroom and how the bathroom shower is set up. The towel holders were actually oars and the handles of the doors are an actual cleat hitch. Pretty neat and creative! This is by far the cleanest nd nicest place I've been to, with an amazing view as it's practically right across the street by the water. No other place in town can beat that. This is a quick drive to the sea life center and the surrounding area at a very reasonable price! Definitely check them out! The kitchen was even nicely stocked with a few items!

This is a fantastic bnb/ guesthouse located a couple miles south of Seward, in sleepy Lowell Point…read more The owners really love what they do and have put their hearts into this place. The craftmanship is just stunning. The house consists of just 2 rentals, the Low Tide and High Tide rooms. I stayed in the Low Tide which is perfect for families (or snorers) because of its one -bedroom studio that was closed off to the main area. The High Tide room looks more romantic, as its a proper studio with a bed facing the bay. Both rooms have absolutely stunning views of Resurrection Bay....we could see birds and sea otters from our breakfast bar! The kitchen area has a small fridge stocked with OJ, milk, coffee creamer and butter pats. There were three types of cereal, all fully stocked and super delicious and healthy. The coffee was phenomenal and there were packets of tea and spiced cider. The architectural details of the Low Tide room really made me feel at home. For Sewards gray skies, the Low Tide has bright, airy colors that feel Southwestern. The craftsmanship is flowing; the ceiling has delicate arches with wooden beams, similar to a nautical feel (this personally makes me feel I'm Italy because they loved curved ceilings.) Oh yes, and the bathroom is phenominal...I guess you just have to be there to understand. Furniture is higher-end, and they have a great economical water heater (heated water on demand). I love this place. The scenery, the quaintness of Lowell Point, the amenities and guaranteed hot showers and nice dishes, make this the perfect spot for an Alaskan getway....the only suggestion I would have is they get a grill!

She has 2 facilities: The main house (the A-Framed one) and the "cottages" across the street. My niece and I stayed in the main while my sister and her hubby stayed in one of the cottages. The cottages boast a full kitchen, with fridge, stove, sinks, microwave and even a stacked washer & dryer. Also being separate from the main house, if you're having a long stay, this would be ideal as you won't disturb anyone with comings & goings. There appeared to be 3 of these cottages. In the main, there are 5 bedrooms, ALL with private bathrooms! :) Soo makes a terrific breakfast that's included... forget those scrawny little donuts or cold cereals you'll see at a hotel. She made us scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, home-made blueberry compote and fresh squeezed orange juice! I'm tellin' ya... it's a great way to start the day! She also knows the local area & can tell you about discounts and things to see. When we arrived, she showed us the code to get in, the etiquette (removing shoes- great cleanliness idea in Alaska), and showed us around her beautiful home. Soo also used to live in Anchorage, where my sister still lives and I used to, and owned a sewing shop. When we arrived, and my sister made the connection, and I off-handed asked if she could re-attach the handles on my favorite tote. I didn't really expect a yes...but she said YES! The next morning at breakfast, there was my repaired tote on the chair in the dining room. She refused any compensation, but I will be forever grateful. Soo is kind, gracious and staying at her home is FABULOUS!

Hands down, the best B&B we ever stayed!…read more We have stayed in several B&Bs over the years but none this special and wonderful as Debra's place. We arrived fairly late (10pm) and Debra called to check on us and to inform us that she was going to bed. We were 5mins away from her place when she called and glad to have the opportunity to catch her before bed time. She has instructions listed on how to access the room. We had booked the studio suite. Our names were printed and hung at the slide door. It may seem like a small gesture but it really touched our hearts! We never felt more welcomed before! It's a small (big for us), cosy room. A super comfortable bed, we slept really well. A sofa, a massage chair, which we really appreciated and enjoyed after a long day out exploring the area. The bath was clean. She provided soap, shampoo and towels. The mini pantry had a coffee machine, hot chocolate, microwave, fruit juice, fruits, popcorn and muffins. The place is nicely decorated. By the window, they had several bird feeder. We didn't spot any bird visitors while we were there but I'm sure it will be a wonderful sight in summer. The window next to the bed has the view of the resurrection bay!!!!!!!! It was incredible, This is THE bed and breakfast etch in our head, and I'm pretty sure it is going to be real tough for anyone else to beat this standard. Thank you so much, Debra! Tip: Debra is able to help book some of the cruises at discounted rates. She will share them with you upon booking.

The king bed was lovely, and with a microwave AND minifridge, you've got all you need for a great home base to explore Seward from. Even on a drizzly trip, the rain on the wooden roof is exceptionally romantic to just stay in and enjoy. Still, with the current state of the world, it was hard to not have some concerns. We weren't provided any soap to wash our hands with, which is fine because I carry hand sanitizer, but did raise a bit of a question mark about their procedures for mid-pandemic. There were also quite a few errant hairs left behind in the shower from the previous occupants (both pink and curly black; my partner and I are blondes) which worried me in terms of how much deep cleaning was getting done between people checking out and checking in. We ended up leaving earlier than planned due to this concern. I'd definitely come back and stay again, but when it's a little safer to do so. I didn't see any evidence that they were prioritizing health & safety of their customers over profits, and I know there are some other places in state that are spacing out rentals so there's at least a day between. I'll probably stick to those for now.

We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and exceptionally clean our room was! Of course, it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but the cleanliness of the property truly exceeded our expectations, and it had everything we needed. The room price is also relatively cheaper than other hotels in downtown, likely because it's not located right in the downtown area--which worked out perfectly for us. Since we visited at the very end of the tourist season, breakfast service wasn't available, but complimentary coffee was offered in the dining hall, along with a microwave for guests to use. There was also a coffee maker in the room. Towels and toiletries were provided, all spotless and fresh. Kudos to Todd as well--he was incredibly nice and quick to respond to our inquiries. He even picked up his phone while on the road to make sure our questions were answered right away, which we really appreciated.Overall, we had a great experience here and would highly recommend Exit Glacier Hotel. The hotel itself has a rather homey feel and I found the staff to be rather helpful and welcoming. Our room was alright, probably a bit better than the average room we stayed in on our Alaska trip. It was a bit roomier and more modern, which was nice. The hotel offers a breakfast, which I found kind of strange. They have us a menu and told us if we wanted anything, we had to fill it out and turn it in my like 10 PM the night before. This would allow them to get our food ready for us before we were ready to eat. Unfortunately, we found that that was only half the menu; they had other options posted on a menu in the dining area that I didnt know about until we sat down to eat. Of course, at that point it was too late to change my order. But other than that, we enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again.
