I love going to Bowtie Barbershop. Amanda is amazing! She does an incredible job, pays attention to every detail, and always makes sure I leave looking my best. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and I've been looking for a barber shop like this for years. I'm so glad I found it. I'll definitely be coming here from now on. Highly recommend Amanda and Bowtie Barbershop! read more

Hate to leave a bad review but Ace managed to give my husband the ugliest haircut I've ever had the misfortune to witness. It is absolutely hideous. And how do you think thats leaving length Ace? That's a really weird thing you did at the back. He looks like a demented old hipster. Thanks. read more

Friendly staff. Professional. Good vibes. My son loved the cut. Tons of stuff to look at why we wait.

Great barbershop! Relaxed atmosphere with nostalgic sports memorabilia and bow ties all over. Very friendly and fast service. Amanda did an excellent job for our 1 1/2 year old's first haircut too. She's great with kids and the haircut turned out perfect. We'll be coming back for sure. read more

Good folks great service and I get my hair done right the first time so my wife don't have to fix it lol.

8/26/2022: Finicky individual who won't allow ANYONE touching his entire head, i.e., simply amazing the before and after Bowtie Barber performed her MAGIC on this finicky, obstinate individual!!!! It took me FOUR WEEKS persuading finicky individual getting groomed at Bowtie Barbershop! Finally, HE was placed in the Barber's chair and couldn't leave because his wheelchair was moved to the other side, i.e., NO ESCAPING~LOL!!!! The finicky individual's skeptical scowl expresses his desire escaping; however, the Head Barber moved his wheelchair~ha-ha-ha! The Barber took her time manscaping the scruff who hadn't had himself groomed in TWO YEARS~WTH???? Why? FRIGGIN' LAZINESS!!!! Ooooof~Never wait two years-PERIOD! read more

I've been going to bow ties for six years the cuts are awesome,Bow tie is a great person thank you for the service!!

It's the vibe. The professional service. The fact that it's always the same. It's the best haircut I've ever had.

I don't think the kid who cut my hair has been to barber school. Honestly the worst haircut I've ever had. I didn't really notice how bad it was till I got home. Stay away from this place. read more

Best haircut in town ! I've been to most all the barbers in the area and this is the place to get the job done. Old school style complete with straight razor finish. The culture is loud and friendly for those who aren't sensitive to some good healthy banter. Go see Mai she's got the groovy style and personality to match. The old school feel is great for those of us that miss the way it used to be. Keep America great read more

I went into the shop this weekend to get my beard trimmed. Long story short, I looked homeless and my wife wouldn't tap this with a 10' pole. Luckily I had the pleasure of sitting in Ace's chair (he's the tattooed white guy with glasses) . Not only was he kind, funny, super professional but he trimmed my beard the best I've ever had. I came home and let's just say my wife was impressed. I haven't left the house in 3 days, I've been getting A&D ointment for my knees delivered via Amazon and need to steam clean spots out of the couch now. To say this beard trim is a 10/10 would be a understatement. 150,000/10 would get trimmed again. read more

Nothing against the actual haircut, as I have taken my son here several times. And I would love to support a local business, but it's really hard when you go on two different days and can't get in. First time, showed up at 4:30, and I get it, they close at 5:00 and didn't have time. Okay. came back today, two days later at 4:05 and were told they were closing early for a staff members birthday. They had just told the guy in front of us the same thing. We were all told they could put our name on the list for tomorrow, but that meant we really had to show up. What? I've showed up two days to try this. Unfortunately we are going to start going someplace else. I'm too busy to try three times to get a haircut when other establishments have hours they stick with. Again, nothing wrong with the actual cuts we have received, just bad circumstance in trying to get one. read more

Only spot to go in Placerville! Walk-ins only! True barber shop feel. They actually know how to use a straight razor! Depending on the time of day, there can be a wait, but there's always plenty of barbershop banter. Always a friendly face ready to make you look your best. read more

This place is sooo CUTE! There no stars in the world to express how cute and amazing our experience was. Cute ambience here, cute decor, cute barber chairs, especially cute barbers, cute haircuts, all around cuteness every nook and cranny. Every corner was so cute from the stickers, the hanging bow ties and hats even customers, CUTE. Transforms these customers from crusty to cutesy. I will be coming here for every haircut and recommend this place to everyone looking for a cute haircut and glow up. read more

CASH ONLY. My 7 year old normally goes to a guy in Tahoe for his cut and design. We didn't have time to do the drive and his classmate recommended for us to go here. So we tried it out on a Friday after school. I'm drawn to and more comfortable with this kind of aesthetic in a shop. I like the decor and the general look and feel of both the shop and the employees. But I was apprehensive to come here because of some of the negative reviews I read regarding attitude from the staff. Plus my husband came here once and didn't have a stellar experience and everything he complained about was written out in those reviews. I am quiet but am definitely more combative than the BD so I was mentally prepared. But we were greeted in a friendly and respectful manner. They could tell I didn't know what the deal was so they told me to write my son's name on the blackboard. We did wait for a bit. Probably close to an hour and there were four people ahead of us. Including my son, I saw four other kids there which is nice to see. Apparently this is the it place. Each employee treated the kids in a gentle manner. The owner made it a point to switch certain songs because kids were present. I'm no Karen, but its a nice touch. They seem to remember and treat repeat customers really well. As far as cut and design, my man in Tahoe is a little cheaper. He also asked to look at the design on my phone a few times and kiddo's look came out exactly like the picture. It was perfect. At Bowtie, he took a look at the picture once and then pretty much just did his own design. It still looks dope, and while it's similar, it's definitely not exactly like the picture. So if you're anal about ish like that you might want to find your voice. To me, as long as it doesn't look like a hack job, I'm fine with it. Kiddo likes his design and Bowtie has a gentler hand than Tahoe man so kiddo said his experience here was better. He has gotten many compliments on his cut. All in all I'm glad we visited. And now I have two options for kiddo's cut. We will be back. read more

This is my first Yelp review. 5 stars and I never knew a barbershop with such pro American values and old school character and talent. I have a great time just waiting for my haircut, chatting with the locals. For the past year I drive up from Fair Oaks to have Michele cut my hair, it is now referred to as the "Michele". Talented, super cute, great Mom and a Family oriented kind of gal. Perfect! the BEST haircut of my life! Really. Check this barbershop out. Iconic for sure. Cheers read more

Bowtie's Barbershop isn't just a place to get your hair cut, it's an amazing place to go hang with your friends, that just happens to give the best haircuts around! Best barbershop around! Cool, old school barbershop vibes, and skilled barbers. ((((:

I really like to support local businesses but it's getting difficult. I've had about a dozen haircuts here and have only once been unhappy. My issue with this place is Mr Bow Tie himself. I know this is a Barber shop and not some salon but still, there's a limit to the amount of crass behavior if you want to run a business. He's extremely loud and won't shut up about politics and conspiracy theories. I was in the chair next to him and had a headache by the time my cut was done. I could tell my barber was embarrassed. 4/5 happy with my cut, 0/5 atmosphere, 0/5 Covid (not one employee wore a mask). Update: I received a scathing response to this review from Mr Bow Tie. He let me know in no uncertain terms that he was unwilling to accept any criticism of his actions and threatened me to not return. No problem there buddy. read more

Awesome place to get a haircut. Very good haircut and a cool old school barbershop with great barbers to keep you looking good.

One of the better shops I've been in. My son and I had our hair cut on a walk in and were taken right away. Randy did mine and Brad did my son's. Both were excellent and extremely skilled barbers. Randy made several suggestions on my cut and I had confidence in him to just let him work, I knew I would like the results. Cleaned everything up with a strait razor and warm shaving cream. Old school. Conversation and atmosphere of the shop was great. A lot of banter back and forth and clean enough for kids. We are only up in the area once a year but will make this part of our tradition. My son already commented that he will let his hair grow out before we come up so he can get a fresh cut. read more

Graduated from SuperCuts to Bowtie's a few years ago and haven't looked back. Went to Bowtie Barbershop, as I ALWAYS do for my barbering needs. Visited this fine establishment during the second week of July. Sat down in Bowtie's chair, and got a fresh look. Full-service haircut, straight razor, beard trim, neck, ears, eyebrows - all that. I have ALWAYS received top-notch service when visiting, and THAT is what keeps me coming back EVERY TIME. Have had my haircut from Ace, Pinky, and Bowtie, and have NEVER been dissatisfied. Not once. Good music, chill vibe, old-school barbershop where the artists there take their time - a place I can say that truly values their customers, and their craft. Bowtie Barbershop is, as far as I am concerned, the very last word in barbering in El Dorado County, and for that matter, in any surrounding counties as well. DON'T waste your time going to the other guys, just go to Bowtie Barbershop my friends, you won't regret it. read more
