I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share our experience so other families know what to expect. We had a very disappointing experience with Bowman Funeral Home. The director did not record the correct casket we chose, ordered the wrong number of death certificates, and failed to send copies to both heirs as requested. Even after confirming the service time a week ahead, they called on the day of the funeral to say it was two hours later. This last-minute change caused major problems with our luncheon plans and extra expense. We expected care and professionalism, but that's not what we received. I truly hope they improve their communication and attention to detail for future families. read more

Very insensitive employee. Unfortunately we had a employee Randy who made rude comments and manipulated situation. Having this person as contact and upon communicating the problem we had to this person directly he was load and acted like he was repeating what was said on the phone so other employees would think we were complaining about Bowman as a whole. We said that he needed to work on his customer service and said very load we need to work on our customer service witch was not true. After a few days we called Lori who was very kind to us now yelled at us then hung up leaving my fiancee crying and upset not understanding why she would react like this. Being a business owner in the past hopefully they can use this constructive criticism to improve. read more

Lori and her staff were all so kind and helpful. Having no experience with funeral planning, Lori helped us every step of the way. She even took some of the things off our to do list and handled them for us. We decided to bury our father in Utah, with a simple graveside service. I've attended two services here in the last the month. The facility is new, and the staff was courteous. Both services were open casket, and we expected to see our loved ones looking peaceful. My sister in law looked very rough. Her complexion was gray, her hair was not how she wore it, and she appeared to have a tear drop on her cheek (likely runaway glue that was used to keep her eyes closed). My best friend looked a little better, however she was quite ashen. I was not involved in the arrangements in either case, so I don't know what was promised or paid for. However neither one looked like the person I remembered, and I've seen better presentations at other funeral homes. read more

I love Bowman Funeral Home! Especially Gary Boman. Before my husband died in 2012, I researched all the area funeral homes. Boman's was hands down, the best pricing. After meeting with them, they were even better than I could imagine. Gary offered tips about what services I needed and what I didn't, to save money. He was absolutely amazing. A couple of years later we had him take care of my Dad too. We had Dad's funeral service at Boman's new facilities that are beautiful. Then Gary personally drove my Dad to Utah to be buried next to my Mom. Can't praise this business enough. I'd give them a 10 if that was available. read more

I'd put a minus 5 stars on this one!! All we wanted to do was see if someone would be on site so we could look at some keepsake urns. My daughter lost her husband last Tuesday. He was in Oklahoma and we're in Idaho. All she wanted was a yes or no answer. The man that answered the phone said "WHY WOULD YOU EXPECT SOMEONE TO BE THERE AT 4:00 ON SATURDAY!!" It got worse from there. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but isn't that their business to be sympathetic and understanding to their grieving customers? He was very rude and made it that much harder for her. I'm just a grieving mother trying to protect her grieving daughter, but I would not recommend contacting this business! read more

We had a horrible experience with Bowman, and actually switched services because he was rude to a family member just the day after my fathers death. We asked him if we could supply our own casket, and he said we can, but we should find a different funeral home as well, and that he has a right to pay his people more than minimum wage. To get into how much he earns and what he needs to make money was just insensitive and upsetting, especially the day after our fathers death. I would not suggest Bowman. We went with Accent Funeral home, and they did a great job, and were very sensitive, caring and professional. read more
