Even if you're not local, it's about an hour and a half drive from us and it was absolutely worth it. We brought our Downingtown Young Whippets 12U football team to The Place for a team-building night,…read moreAnd we had an awesome experience. We had 25 boys plus our coaching staff, and everyone at The Place was welcoming, accommodating, and patient with our group. As caoches, we wanted to give the boys a night away from football where the could compete, laugh, build relationships, and just enjoy being kids. The palace gave us the perfect environment to do that. The boys had an absolute blast, and they ere still talking about the competition afterwards. What meant even more was receiving an email afterwards thelling us that our boys were welcome back anytime and complinenting then on how well they behaved. As coaches trying to develop these young men beyond football, that meant a lot to us. Thank you to Joseph and everyone at the Place for taking care of our team last minute request. We will definitely be back!

Lanes are fast. They really take care to maintain the lanes. Hardly ever any issues with pin resets. Love that you can gage your speed too. On one side of the building can hear the music. The other side is older. Quieter. Calmer side to practice on. It can get crowded on Thursdays so definitely reserve a lane. Just be careful of the children that are bowling too. Their spatial awareness isn't always the best. Also a lot of kids during the school year. Be prepared for erratic activity and sounds. It can really break your concentration sometimes. Overall, though, it is a pretty good place to bowl.

The drinks were fine and fairly priced. My partner did not like his pepperoni pizza but he loved the potato skins. I ordered the fish tacos which appeared to have frozen fish filets. I liked that they were spicy but I wasn't a fan of the fish itself. We had a great time and I appreciated their cleaning in between customers. Some came and wiped down the area after bowlers were finished. They also have a beautiful space for private parties and games on the opposite end of the facility. They are connected to a full service bar that has outdoor seating. We plan to return.

Pathetic place of business…read more I mean the owner Derek threatened to fight me in parking lot Refused to break a $100 bill so I could bowl. Then demanded I put a card on file. We started playing at 10:15 and then finished at 10:30 when the staff immediately came over and said this to us "I hope your not planning to play another round because you can't." Who says that to a customer?? And then we were kicked out by 10:35. Wtf they close at 11 and we were treated horribly before we even got there. Affordable way to bowl when you use the specials pricing. Get your reps in before league games…read more Easy lanes for practicing. Friendly staff there too. When I went there the first time, the guy at the counter couldn't be any nicer. The bowling alley is old. Doesn't show speed your bowling at. At least when I've gone to practice that wasn't an option. But it's great for experimenting new techniques for bowling. You can also learn from watching the more experienced bowlers and league bowlers that come in to practice. The negatives: it can feel cramped. The return for the bowling balls sounds like an old wooden roller coaster. Sometimes you end up bowling next to people that don't have a clue. During specials it can get crowded with a lot of people and children that don't understand lane etiquette. Just be careful when bowling next to a party like that. For safety, it would be a huge improvement if Devon Lanes posted lane etiquette rules.

Years ago I'd come here with my coed soccer team, we would use 3-4 lanes. I can't recall what the special was then, but it was a bargain and we saved a lot of money as it's BYOB and BYOF. We would bring a cooler and some hoagies and have a blast. Went back with a smaller group last night, Thursday 4/4/24 and relived the good times. Thursday is a $10 unlimited bowling special, which is a tremendous value and a very popular special. The place was packed by 9:00 and people were waiting for lanes. It was nice to see a new generation of people out there ready to roll, we saw one group of 15, they had a few cases of beer with them and were definitely enjoying themselves. They have around 30 lanes, ~15 on each side of the alley. The equipment worked perfectly for us all night. Didn't have any trouble on our lane, nor did I see anyone around us need assistance. We bowled on the "dark" side, with black lights and such, but you could opt to bowl on the other side in normal lighting. Music sounded good on their sound system as they looped the new album. Staff was great, they were very friendly and helpful despite the place being really crowded. The album release was a lot of fun and the staff enjoyed the change of pace too I think. Although there were a lot of regulars there it was fun seeing the other Black Keys fans who came for the event. Great marketing idea and I'm so happy Devon Lanes was selected to host it!

They seem to do the fries well here as I've been able to nibble from a friend's before and my own dish was good. It did take awhile to be put together, but I was okay with that as I wasn't in a hurry. Also, the extra time probably helped for the quality to be enhanced. It was typical arcade quality, but it was well done. They only have one working regular DDR machine currently, and sometimes now, I have to wait behind other(s) even during weekday evenings. They updated their prize store currently- I see more neon signs which I think is a good choice, it looks like more game system choices are available, and they still have an automatic vacuum cleaner which I believe is the most expensive ticket item in the prize store currently. My age is showing at this place because I always lose my marbles at the Castlevania machines. They have at least 2 or 3 StepManias here. There's a good variety of claw type machines, regular Japanese based games, and a few regular US type arcade games.
