One of the best venues in Maine, really feels like the states most authentic place to see concerts! Surround by nature,on the lake, in the summertime really can't be beat! Food is a good mix of options and they usually have something for everyone ! Staff is friendly and accommodating! Having a cheaper ticketing option as well as a higher end one is a nice balance. Like any new venue there's room to always improve, but this is truly a hidden gem... that's not so hidden anymore
We loved this venue. Came here to see The Revivalists / Rustic Overtones and the amenities were clean, the people that were working were fantastic, we got the fresh pizza right out of the oven (they even gave us a pager to let us know the food was ready). The sound was fantastic, and the venue sits on a slight slope so you still have great seats way in the back to see everything. We will definitely be back. read more
We were pleasantly surprised with our first visit to Bowl in the Pines in Sidney. As we were in line to check in my husband pointed out the stage. I said "wait...right there?" There is no bad viewing area even in the far back. A lot of people in chairs, which personally I don't understand, but still a lot of standing room. In fact we were so close we had to move back because my oldish ears couldn't handle it. Spin Doctors, The Gin Blossoms and Blues Traveler put on a great 90s throw back concert. The drink lines were painfully long and they ran out of some a couple of times but kept restocking. Many food trucks to choose from. It is definitely worth a trip up there. They run a good show and it's a beautiful location. Small and intimate. read more

A nice intimate venue with big control issues. The side of the hill where people are seated or general area for camp chairs is just a small hill. This place has more money invested in barricades than anything else. I paid for premium seats to be closer to the band but what I got, along with everyone else, was a view of the back of someone's head. When a few of us stood up for a tribute song that the band was doing, we were told to sit down, that we could not stand/dance. I'm sure the musicians felt like they were playing for a bunch of mannequins. If you are moving around there are plenty of clear views of the stage but sitting, forget it. The grassy field parking was over priced and you were limited to paying to park. Food trucks seemed to have good selections, but wait until the band starts so you don't wait for ever read more

Paid several months in advance for on-site parking but were told when we arrived the lot was full and had to park offsite! We literally showed the guy our pre-paid pass and he seemed irritated with us. This wouldn't happen at any other venue in New England. Every aspect of the venue was subpar compared to other places I've been to. Definitely not going back!! read more

This place is terrible. It takes forever to get in, forever to get food, and there is nowhere to sit by the time you get in and grab food. It took 2 hours to get from off-site parking on the shuttle, through security, and to have food. That is insanity. The food & beverage lines bled into the crowd. Also, you cannot see the lake at all as the stage and trees block the entire view. This place could be special, but instead it is chaos. It absolutely needs seating and to stop overselling shows. read more

No organization or communication from the beginning. Free for all getting in. The multiple emails about bags was a joke. Nothing that was posted about what was not allowed was not followed. Concert was good (spin Drs, gin blossoms, blues traveler). Would much prefer to see a concert in Bangor. This venue is a joke. read more

Stella venue for concerts. The staff were exceptionally awesome across the board-beverage service, security staff, parking attendants, etc. Red Barn food truck was phenomenal. It is a beautiful setting to listen to live music. Taj & Keb crushed it. read more

The venue has wonderful acts and the ticket prices are reasonable. However, the parking fee is not, $30. What are these promoters thinking? We are not in Boston or New York. Even Portland's parking fees are less than this. I had planned on attending two concerts this summer and decided against it because of the parking cost. I'll watch the clips on YouTube. read more

First time at Bowl in the Pines. We saw TajMo - Taj Mahal and Keb Mo. The show was absolutely fantastic, as were our seats. And the venue is beautiful. But just about everything else was horrible. The show started at 6:30 so we arrived at 5:15, as ew wanted to get food at the food trucks. We didn't get into the venue until 6:00, as their parking process is a nightmare - both coming and going. As for the food, it was really good, but it took 45 minutes standing in line and waiting for the food. Nice that they had beer, but the good local beers were sold out. All in all, it was worth seeing such a great show, but we don't plan on ever going back unless they get their act together. Oh, I was also very upset that we paid an exorbitant 'ticket fee', even though we purchased the tickets directly from Bowl in the Pine. read more

Melissa/indigo concert was a nightmare is so many ways. I received weekly emails ( 12 of them) about no bags/backpacks or beverages allowed in , NONE OF WHICH WAS TRUE!!! No signage for the off site parking, inexcusable! Even the shuttle information was inaccurate. People were cutting through the waiting lines right in front of security , who did nothing about it. If you were early to get in line you were 'searched/scanned' then they gave up and said we will open up to a free for all. People were saving entire benches of seating for friends not there yet, again security did nothing . But they did tell people they could not sit down in the standing room section, lest they be trampled on, which the venue would not accept responsibility. Porta Jane lines were more than 20 minutes long , but still shorter than the food lines... until some vendors ran out of offerings. Sound system was run by students, or unbelievably bad. Yes, we left . This place & organization deserves a rating below zero. read more
