Anna is in a practice with Jewell Meade, called Dental Health Associates. I was looking to find a new permanent dentist and I liked the environment and the staff that I met at the appointment so I told them I wanted to be a permanent patient with their practice. I have no complaint with the dentist or the techs but had a bad experience with the billing and some miscommunication between someone in the office with my insurance company. The tech who was working on me wanted to do a full-mouth ex-ray and had a girl in the office to go to the front and "call" my insurance company to see if my benefits covered the procedure. I did not know the date of the last full mouth ex-ray I had with my past dentist. The gal who went to check came flying back into the office where I was being treated and said YES, THEY COVER IT! So I said ok. Then 30 days later I get a bill for $90. I called Humana and they had no record of this dentistry calling them about my benefits. They record and note everything that comes to them. I appealed it, they denied it. I asked for all the records from the dentist, and a copy of my chart. They had the ex-ray down as being an item covered by my insurance. What I found out later my benefits for this procedure is 1 every 5 years and the last one I had was one year prior. What this dentist office failed to do is to ask Humana the date of the last full mouth ex-ray. We have battled back and forth on this and I cannot feel I owe the $90 when they failed to do their job in a proper ethical manner. I eventually told them to go ahead and turn over to a collection agency or to write off as a bad debt because I was not going to pay for their mistake. They have turned it over to collection agency & I don't give a rat's butt. I don't owe anybody 0 and I won't be needing any loans to worry about my credit rating which is over 800. I will not bad mouth the dentist, Anna Newman, herself. I liked her and am upset that I won't get to have them as my permanent dentists because of this screw up by somebody in their office. They obviously need to better train their employees how to set up new patients and to get the correct info from the insurance company as to their benefits before performing any procedures. I've never had such a problem with any dentist before.

I don't know what has changed in the last 6 months but it has not been for the better. It took a while for them to input my labs and it took two of them to find, not all the lab names were the same as my doctor ordered, they no longer appear in my chart and no one can tell me why, one of my labs had to be sent out and it's been almost a week and its still not back. It has never taken this long! My husband had an MRI on his arm and the radiologist missed he had a torn bicep. Luckily he had a good ortho and he caught it when he looked at the MRI. I will no longer be going to Georgetown Hospital. If I need ER services I will use the new Baptist Health ER they are building or I will drive to Lexington. I've given them plenty of chances over the last 5 years and this year they have blown it for our family. I will not accept subpar care or customer service!

It's the medical equivalent of being shoved into a van, blindfolded, and dropped off at whatever location happens to be open. You don't come here because you trust them--you come here because the alternative is bleeding out in a ditch. Take my experiences. I walked in with a gunshot wound to the hand, and somehow the grand medical conclusion was Flexeril, Tylenol, and a $3,000 bill. Danville's staff has a couple of competent people buried in the chaos, but most of what you deal with feels like confusion wrapped in a scrubs uniform. Then there's Harrodsburg. After getting AC compressor lubricant blasted into my eyes, I got redirected to Lexington like a piece of lost mail. And once I got there? The doctor basically told me I wasted my time, shrugged, and sent me home at 2 a.m. with nothing but more questions and less trust. No explanation. No reasoning. Just a pat on the back and the door. Every visit feels like you've stumbled into their system and can't get out until someone finally decides you're allowed to leave. Communication is scattered, urgency is optional, and half the time you're wondering who--if anyone--is actually steering the ship. But hey, this place is better than dying with no treatment in the middle of a field somewhere. I guess.

They had their own agenda. I cannot mentally/psychologically tolerate it. They had to sedate me to get it inserted. Surgeon never showed, even after saying he "was on his way" Upstairs, cue another panic attack. Was informed that the tube could be in for weeks. Throat was swelling, nose was bleeding. Hell no. Nurse called the doctor. I had 2 options. Leave the tube in as long as he said to, or discharge. The only way I could handle the tube was if I was sedated. I was on the verge of removing it myself. I took the discharge. Kept getting different answers from different staff members, no follow-up, and minimal to no care. Never again.

On September 7, 2024, I was a victim of an active shooter on interstate 75 near London, Kentucky…read more I was taken by helicopter to the UK heath care Albert B. Chandler hospital. My care there with only one exception was fantastic. The trauma team, emergency department, nurses, technicians therapists, dietary and housekeeping personnel were all friendly, conscientious and great at their jobs. One nurse named Barbara who worked on discharge planning, was the only exception to my excellent care. Barbara works a nursing job that does not provide bedside care. She was going over her discharge plans for me. I have a bullet hole in my left upper thigh. I cannot see this wound directly. While in the hospital, one physician and several nurses packed this wound with saline soaked gauze. These people are trained to pack the wound. They were standing behind me and using TWO HANDS to pack this wound. "Nurse" Barbara's solution for acceptable home wound care was to have me hold a mirror in one hand and use the other hand to pack the wound. As stated earlier, trained doctors and nurses require TWO hands to safely accomplish this task to maintain sterility. Preventing infection is paramount in this situation. In the weeks since my discharge, my opinion of "Nurse" Barbara is that she is out of touch with good patient education. I also believe she is lazy and did not want to take the time to help set up out of state discharge care. The name of my primary care physician in Indiana was well documented on my chart. One phone call to Indiana would have alerted my doctor that I needed additional care. Shame on this nurse for being so negligent.

If it were at all possible, I'd rate Harrison Memorial Hospital no stars. This place hardly passes…read moreas a band-aid station, and I say this for several reasons. I have a sister, who is now six, but was three at the time. She was having severe pain in her chest, so we took her to HMH. They ran a test or two, and said it was probably acid reflux. With this persistant pain, we decided to get a second opinion and she was sent to UK Children's Hospital, where we found out that HER LUNG COLLAPSED! Also, when I was fourteen, my step-dad and I caught a nasty stomach virus. One of the family doctors prescribed fineragin to my step-dad and told me just to take what he prescribed to him. Two days later, I was having an acute dystonic reaction (an allergic reaction to a medication that causes muscles to draw up), so my mother took me to the emergency room. The quack of a doctor there told mom that I was faking it, just to send me home. Unconvinced, she refused to take me home. After several reactions, I cringed up and passed out due to not being able to breathe. They eventually sent me to U.K. Children's Hospital because they "couldn't do anything" for me. All I needed was benyadryl, constant I.V. fluids, and rest. Also, in the family doctors' office, there is a very rude receptionist named Sarah. Everytime I call to make an appointment, ask a question, or request a school excuse, she either gets very snobby, sarcastic, or just downright rude. I work at a local grocery store, so I understand that dealing with the public is hard, but really? It isn't that hard to be nice, especially in a place that deals with sick and injured people. My grandmother has COPD and has a VERY difficult time breathing. One time, she had to get moved to the Intensive Care Unit because it was so bad. She was put on oxygen, but the stupid inexperienced nurse turned her oxygen up too high and she almost died from it. A very careless mistake had almost turned into the loss of a life. The life of my grandmother. Overall, I am VERY displeased with Harrison Memorial Hospital and don't recommend it to anyone!
