Something has changed at the lab at Georgetown Community Hospital. For the last 3 years I have gotten labs there every 6 months. I don't know what has changed in the last 6 months but it has not been for the better. It took a while for them to input my labs and it took two of them to find, not all the lab names were the same as my doctor ordered, they no longer appear in my chart and no one can tell me why, one of my labs had to be sent out and it's been almost a week and its still not back. It has never taken this long! My husband had an MRI on his arm and the radiologist missed he had a torn bicep. Luckily he had a good ortho and he caught it when he looked at the MRI. I will no longer be going to Georgetown Hospital. If I need ER services I will use the new Baptist Health ER they are building or I will drive to Lexington. I've given them plenty of chances over the last 5 years and this year they have blown it for our family. I will not accept subpar care or customer service! read more

I was at Georgetown Community Hospital on December 23, 2025 for a lumpectomy and some lymph nodes removed due to breast cancer. The preop nurses, Brooke and Lori, made me so comfortable. Great bedside manner which eased my anxiety. The surgical team of Dr Sarah Hayek was so professional and efficient. I was extremely scared before going in but I was treated so well. I have never had a good experience with this hospital's atrocious billing system. They can never get the insurance billed fight and they will not accept CareCredit. I will drive 30 miles out of the way to never use this hospital ever again. read more

My wife came in on a Friday after having a biopsy done on her breast. there was a lot of redness and infection around the site (biopsy was the day before) they gave her antibiotics through IV barely looked at the incision site. told her if it got worse to come back. well we came back the following Wednesday and the RN we dealt with was just rude. she needed another IV and my wife told him to use her left arm because she doesn't have good veins in the right for an IV. Well he did the right arm anyways and blew the vein. That night not a single person looked at the wound itself. She asked if they needed to see it and they said no. Not the doctor, RN, NP. No one. Said she needed to get it drained but they couldn't do it. Then referred her to an OBGYN to have them do it. Like wtf? her PCP referee her to a general surgeon at Baptist health in Lexington and he said "oh honey we need to take you to the ER as soon as possible to drain this. It looks terrible" and we have cleaned the wound every few hours with alcohol, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, new bandages. I think I'd go to a nurse station at the local high school before stopping here again. read more

Staff act as if they're doing you a favor and gracing you with their presence. Once you're set up in the room, you rarely see them and if you ask for anything it's easy to see they are perturbed that you are asking them to do their job. I have never seen hospital staff act like they're doing you a favor when performing their jobs. Mostly, they just ignore you. No one ever comes in to ask how you are doing or if you need anything, you always have to use the call light to get their attention. The majority of the staff always look and act as if they hate being there and definitely don't want to spend too much time with their patients. I've only been there five or six times but this is the way it has been every time I have had to use this hospital. I avoid it at all costs and have never felt this way about any other hospital I have gone to. Due to arriving via Ambulance, I had no way to get home. The staff actually insisted that last time I was there I downloaded an UBER APP and went home that way. My discharge was at 2 AM. I did not feel comfortable, especially since I was so sick, like downloading an App and having someone I did not know take me home and they kept INSISTING I do so. Finally they conveniently were able to find someone to take home. I have never been treated so coldly and inhumanely as i have been at Georgetown Hospital. I am an elderly lady and have no family to help me. I am appalled at the behavior of the nursing staff at this hospital. read more

Was just in for ankle stabilization surgery. From the moment I registered to the moment I was wheeled to my car, I was treated with amazing care. From pre-op through recovery I must have had a dozen people attend to me with professionalism and great bedside manners. We live in our motorhome and were just traveling through when I dislocated my shoulder. As 'city people' our first thought was the teaching hospital in Lexington but, let's be honest; I was hurting and cranky. We made the well-advised decision to stop at the community hospital. The staff at Georgetown were great. There was no wait for us, the triage nurse was able to get us right in. With a dislocated shoulder I was in a fair amount of pain. Nurses and radiology staff were very kind and concerned about my comfort. Images confirmed an anterior dislocation but, unlike my other experience, Dr. Innis was able to reduce it without sedation. That being said, Dr. Innis is not a great communicator so I didn't have a great big, warm, fuzzy feeling. But as he handled my shoulder so well, I guess that's okay, right?. Follow up with the orthopedist was good; my shoulder will be good as new, or close, in six weeks or so. Great excuse to spend more time in Kentucky! This experience affirms my faith in small hospitals. read more

Unless you are dying and need to be seen quickly, go someplace else. These people are awful. Daughter went due to a work injury and needed stitches. She sat in the waiting room for almost two hours before they came and took her vitals. Then sent her back to waiting room. She then sat for another almost two hours before they took her back to stitch her up. I realize that they get busy but the things she saw in the waiting room are just ridiculous. A woman who spoke no English came in with her son and a friend acting as her translator. He was told to leave. No visitors. When asked if they had a translator for her, they said they only had one person that spoke Spanish and they weren't on the floor. They told him that if he wanted to wait with the small child, the mom could leave. That is ridiculous. That was just one example of the stuff that happened. This place has their priorities seriously screwed up. AND if you think you will get proper care instructions OR all of your paperwork. NO! Now she has to go back in to get WC paperwork they forgot to give her. read more

I was attending a convention in Lexington, KY and had to go to the ER at 4:00 a.m. for an SI strain. The staff at Georgetown were across the board fantastic and great professionals. Everyone was nice, kind and compassionate and tried their utmost to help a stranger in town. I am deeply grateful. With their help I was able to survive a week in Lexington and get done the things I needed to. They even tried their best (and succeeded!) in getting me out of there in time for my early meeting.
