Bounty Music was recommended by a good friend from the mainland for the great selection and service. We just stopped in to get a dose of ukulele while on the island. I spied a beautiful koa Kala with great sound and a great deal. I had no intention of buying it and there was no pressure from Tim behind the counter. Although it had everything I wanted in a new Uke, I still planned to be on my way & leave it there for another trip but my wife jumped in and really wanted to get it for me (God I love her so). Tim was really nice, super helpful and still no pressure to buy. As you aprobably guessing, I walked out with a new ukulele. Tim went over it and set it up for me. I bought my first guitar and keyboard here and they were always so friendly. My sister in-law was looking for ukulele for her daughter and I remembered Bounty Music has a lot of instruments so we brought them here. Once we parked the first ad we see was (40 years Anniversary Sale) so of course we got excited and I can't believe they spent $170 for a concert ukulele, a music sheet and a concert cover! Really went in to browse not expecting to find what I was really looking for. But right away I was greeted by Austin so I gave it a shot and told him specifically what I was in the market for. Even showed him a picture from an online music store that I normally go to. And by some miracle he whipped out a sales sign and said I just sold the floor model BUT I have one brand new still in the box upstairs. Long story short, it was the exact model I was going to order. Bounty had the same retail but knocked the price down another $175.00 AND ON TOP OF THAT I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR SHIPPING!! My kids are starting to dabble in music and play a random array of instruments (piano, drums, ukulele, guitar). I'm glad we've found a store that is basically your one stop shop for all things music related. These guys are so super friendly and knowledgeable, making it easy for parents like us (who are not musically inclined) to navigate this new world. The shop is small but it seems like they have everything you would need, and their prices range from suitable for beginners up to what looks like some pretty professional gear! All of the store associates we met were extremely helpful. They even have a great Luthier in house, Tim Flood, who was excellent in assessing repairs to an old family guitar we want to refurbish. Life can be pretty cool how things play out. Like for instance, I was organizing my room the other day & noticed some space I wasn't fully utilizing. I've actually been considering putting a shelf there, I just wasn't sure for what exactly. So with that idea stuck in limbo, I was about to give up on my empty wall space situation. When I stumbled across a picture of an electric guitar online. Then I started down the rabbit hole. Sure, I know absolutely nothing about this instrument. However, I do know it's a beautiful piece that would look nice as an art piece to be displayed. Plus I could always attempt to learn. Which would then make this piece multipurpose. But where do I get one on Maui? I originally started my search at pawn shops. Except these were all pretty worn out & expensive. A little more work then I was expecting, especially if I'd want a shot at picking up a new hobby too. So that's when I discovered Bounty Music. A shop that has a variety of instruments to choose from with a variety of price points too. They even had a starter set in the color I wanted for an affordable price too. So I said yes to the starter set & I can always upgrade to the fancy ones in the future.
