Great kids program!…read more My 8 year old wanted to do cross fit and work out. I was super nervous at first and watched then like a hawk with a skeptic eye. Turns out, it's a great program. He attends a class averaging 8 or so. There is usually only about 5-6 at a time, but did get up to 12 kids a few times. There is the minimum of one trainer and he directs the kids thru a variety of age-appropriate activities. They start with stretches and warm ups. They use different types of equipment set that is set for their use during the class. This is a great place for my hyper child to expend some energy, learn proper techniques, get familiar and comfortable gym equipment and environment. This has been a great program while he is between sports.

Amidst a competing sea of social clubs where one can go to talk, maybe get a workout in that might involve a slight sweat, and overall not get anything like a real workout actually done, Jason's is a place of refuge for people who actually want to get a lift in. 24 hour access, a limited number of spots for membership, actual power racks for weightlifting (that aren't frequented by "bros" getting in to do yet another set of curls), plenty of weight, friendly staff and an owner who takes time to get to know his people and actually knows what he's talking about when he trains people adds up to one of the best gyms I've been a part of. I've been a member for almost a year, now, and have no complaints...it's pretty much the best place I've found to lift, period.

At the time, I was considerably heavier but would try to keep up with others around me. I hurt my neck and never went back. I tried swimming along with Weight Watchers and that worked really well for a time, until my mother passed away. I just could not go back. After my meeting, I would run by her house and she would have a healthy meal ready for me, anxious to see how much I had lost. It was crazy, because she was so proud of me. Again, I could not go back to it. About 13 years ago, I had weight loss surgery. It was the only thing that worked for me and I was able to lose a considerable amount of weight. A couple of years ago the implanted medical device I had failed and had to be removed. I had a revision to another weight loss procedure and was able to get back to the lowest weight I had reached with the first procedure. I could not lose one more ounce. It was very frustrating. Several women at work participated in a Fit Body Boot Camp. At my age, I was sure I would set myself up for failure. However, I learned of Fit Body Forever, run by the same wonderful people, but for those over age 55. An advertisement appeared on Facebook for three free introductory sessions. I decided to jump in prior to the usual on slot of exercise eager people at the first of the year and went for my first session the week of Thanksgiving. It was a great decision for me as I was able to come home and soak in hot water after each session since I was off from work all week. That first session was hard but I made it through. I did not even throw up-I thought I was, but did not. I find the trainers to be very considerate of each person's ability or physical restrictions. The class size is limited so that the trainer can keep a close watch on everyone. I was impressed with the amenities offered by the gym as well. Each member has access to a physiotherapist; there is the offer for a grocery store tour as well as assistance with food plans by a certified nutritionist. I thought that I knew all I needed about the grocery store, but found some great tips from my tour. There are regular challenges to help boost weight loss and strength building. This gym is more like a family. Alpaca Yoga is being offered soon, which is another item on my bucket list. Fit Body Forever has helped me get past a weight loss stall that had become a huge downer for me. My surgeon is very pleased with my progress. I am not sorry that I had the weight loss procedures, but I know that without this exercise program, I can never reach my goal. Thanks to Steven Hadley.
