Yes, this is a clothing optional beach however I did not notice a lot of people taking off their clothes here at the time I came. My only complaint is the numerous amounts of stairs one has to climb up or walk down to get to Wreck Beach. It can easily tire most people out. My endurance for exercise is on the higher side so this wasn't much of a problem for me but I know it could be for others.

There's some light pollution from the city, but it doesn't take much from the starry night experience. This is rumored to be a nude beach area. I believe that it may have been at some point, but isn't considered to be one now. There are two beach areas. No bathrooms. As usual, parking at the trailhead is a risk. You may return to your car to find a shattered window. Don't leave anything visible.

However, I find myself recommending this beach to my loved ones visiting Seattle time after time. So, I randomly did a search on Yelp for Rosario Beach and I see that I am not alone. I wanted to echo everyone's love for Rosario Beach and share its beauty. It is about a 90-minute drive north of Seattle. It is a part of Deception Pass State Park so you are required to have a Discover Pass to park in its parking lot. The parking lot is on the smaller side and in summer, the lot gets full most of the time. However, we usually find an available spot after waiting a short while as I usually see folks staying for a short while and then leaving to check out another part of Deception Pass State Park. So, even if the lot seems full, just be patient. Since it is a state park, there is a clean bathroom facility with flushing toilets. The bathroom is just a short walk away from the beach. There are a few picnic tables with BBQ grills. We see weddings, family gatherings, couples having a picnic lunch, landscape photographers, bird watchers, and many more. Such an inviting place for all. And the beach. The water is usually calm as it is a cove. And yes, the water is very cold as we live in the PNW. It sure does not stop our children from getting into the water no matter the weather. It is beautiful. I was a landscape photography hobbyist (more active in the past) and I was immediately drawn to everything this place had to offer in terms of photography opportunities. If you are into photography, you will love this place. Every year, we come here to kayak, SUP, hike, check out the tide pools, have lunch, take a nap, get tanned, and just hang out with people I love. Since I'm from Hawaii, I wish the water was warmer but I'm slowly getting used to the idea that I live in the PNW. Haha! Alooooooha! from the beautiful Rosario beach!

I purposefully took a much earlier ferry to Lummi Island to guarantee time on the beach. No amenties like picnic benches, bathrooms, or BBQ/fire pits at this pocket beach. Well kept, no litter. Just you communing with nature. It was a sunny autumn day with a brisk wind. Beautiful views. Walked along the beach. Collected tiny rocks of interest. Chatted briefly with a guy mooring his small boat. Perched on a log soaking up the sun. Glorious.

It is a small beach and there are lots of signs on different entrances showing "private" so please make sure to use the access available to public. There were people performing music on the stage and park goers enjoying on the grass. Just to the left of the stage there's a path to the beach. Another 2-3 minute descent brings you to a trail going left and right. The path to the left is a short trail to a rock you can sit on and climb down to get to the water. Further that way there's another beach. The path to the right leads to a nice beach with a great view and a shade tree. There were some bugs in the washed up kelp, but nothing too bothersome imho. We had a stand up paddleboard so we used the path on the right after the stage area. I would recommend anyone bringing gear down (scuba, kayaks, paddleboards) to use this beach. Larger crafts can use the boat ramp just north of this beach, and you can drive right up to that ramp (north of the stage and parking area). It was a beautiful park and a great place to picnic, enjoy the water, and view the sunset!

Or those that bring their Canadian Tire little power boats and pumps. For reasons unbeknownst to me, does being on beach equal to doing whatever you want? Social etiquette is shed with the clothes.
