Pulling into a parking spot in one of the parking areas in Cornwall Park in Bellingham this morning, Wednesday 20 September 2023, I noticed a gray squirrel burying something. Trying to get my camera out in time while still in my car, I got one blurry picture before it scurried off. Grabbing my bag and getting out of my car, I noticed something new to me, a black squirrel. It was on the ground foraging. I took a few pictures and a video and then said hello out loud. It came to attention and started making its way towards me. Eventually, it came to sit on a curb by my car and looked at me, letting me take an up-close picture. After the click it continued on. Exploring the park on foot, I found walkers, runners, foraging gray squirrels, and foraging black squirrels. Walking paths through the trees were gravel and relatively flat near the parking area. Gray squirrels towards the entrance of the park were shelling felled chestnuts and carrying them away. A black squirrel or two ran past with a peanut, not sure from where. Sunlight broke through the canopy of the trees, lighting up the leaves and spots of ground. read more

I love all the little hidden parks in Bellingham, but Cornwall takes the cake. You don't realize how expansive this park is until you're in it. There are several different entrances into the park from all surrounding streets. The trails connect all the entrances, but the roads do not connect though. Cornwall park has pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, frisbee golf, a wading fountain, fields to play in, trails to run on AND MORE! Every time I walk my dogs here, I find new trails and features I haven't seen before. It is well maintained and has a ton of parking within the park so you don't have to walk far. I would recommend pulling up a map if you are looking to get to a specific part of the park for the first time! read more

Grande public park. Love those big fir trees. There's a playground and multiple fields. Disc golf, or frolf course, too. Totem poles, public bano, covered picnic area (where the unhoused hangout, btw), and a seriously stunning river with a small gradual waterfall. read more

This park gets 5 stars from me for one big reason, it's Bellingham's pickleball central! I honestly can't speak to much else in this park and starting using it for the soul purpose of playing pickleball. Currently there are 6 pickleball courts and two tennis courts, the pickleball courts will be shut down here in a week for resurfacing and striping, yay! I like how the courts are shaded, especially compared to Fairhaven where there are two more courts. The trees not only help keep the sun down but also the wind, however debris is an issue in the fall. There are also facilities nearby and plenty of parking. read more

I suggest this park as a place to walk with older folks and those with wheelchairs: Much of it is quite level with paved walks. It has a variety of things to look at: The play area for kids (including the mini water park in summer). The stream with water fall / swimming hole and several bridges. Big trees. Grassy areas. It also has more hilly areas for the more athletic types. I find it quite nice to bike. read more

I love this park and I live right by it. Multiple playgrounds for the kiddos, a unique frisbee golf course, multiple bathroom locations, tennis courts, and even a splash pad! I really enjoyed the trails for running when it is hot because they provide glorious shade. I would say the thing that makes it stuck at a three star for me is that I feel like I constantly have to be on high alert when I bring the kiddos... due to dogs off of leashes or freaky looking dogs on really long chains that are just sitting outside of campers that look as if they had been sitting there for months. Also, I think it's fairly well-known there is a reputation for drug use here. Which I honestly don't get upset about when it's just some people smoking a little weed. However, more than once I've seen people who have obviously been using something much harder and those locations have been a little scary. What is great about this park is that is the very definition of "multi-use". Trails and trees wind around play fields, tennis courts, even horse shoe pits. We went on a sunny day and it was busy, but because the park has so many different uses, no one place felt overcrowded. The big disappointment, the frisbee golf course is a joke, especially for such a hippie community like Bellingham. The course is only 9 holes and is almost impossible to navigate for a someone uninitiated to the course as there is often long distances between holes. read more

I had a business trip to Bellingham, and thought, why not bring my pup. After checking to the hotel and refreshing, we went on the hunt for an off-leash park. Couldn't find it, but found this park instead. GORGEOUS! Huge trees, theres disk golfing, tennis courts, and a nice wide trail that my pup found fascinating. It has posting every where, that dogs must be leashed, but I took her long leash, and she was happy. If I go to Bellingham again, I will try this park again. read more

This is a favorite place to go in the summer because of the shady walks. The creek is beautiful. Moms & Dads: keep your eyes on your toddlers and preschoolers. The creek is pretty close to the playground. read more

I'm giving it 1 star solely based on its clientele. It's astonishing how many folks of Bellingham that can not read! Put your damn dogs on a leash! Your dogs don't listen to you and most of the time you are not paying attention to it because you are playing disc golf. Leave your dog home or invest in a leash. Your dog is NOT friendly if it's hair is standing on it's back while it aggressively tries to corner another dog. GET LEASHES BELLINGHAM! The majority of your parks require them, including this one. If I wanted to go to a dog park I would. That goes for all of you as well if you want to unleash your dogs, go to a DOG PARK.. The park itself gets 4 stars...So unless you don't mind a bunch of random dogs running up to you and your dogs the entire time you are trying to walk then this is the place for you. Its hit or miss on which dogs are truly friendly, the chance is yours, because their owners aren't paying attention nor do they have control of their dog. read more
