Overall great experience! I really enjoyed the vendors, both fresh veggies/fruit and prepared food! The produce and similar vendors were mostly set up along one side which was great. They had super fresh cherries and peaches and we sampled and bought some of both. The hot sauce/salsa booth was my overall favorite! We sampled every kind and the staff was extremely friendly. We loved the green and red hot sauces and took home a bottle of the green. The prepared food was in the "food court" area which I appreciated. I was craving a bahn mi and saw their delicious drinks, I was sold. The tofu bahn mi was yummy but the second half was very spicy! The drinks were all super tasty and the watermelon mojito was the right level of sweet and tangy for a warm afternoon! It's a pet free market but a few dogs were around the grassy area. A decent sized market with good variety. I like it when FMs stay foodcentric. The lot next to the Teahouse is converted into a food court with some international choices and live music. This spot was recommended by my friend so we decided to check it out. AMBIANCE: Parking | There's a parking lot but also street parking. Come early so you can snatch a spot. Feels | Smack in the middle of your neighborly houses, local park, and downtown businesses. I have plans to visit as many Colorado farmer's markets as possible this summer, but I'll be hard to surpass my love for the BCFM. It'll be harder to make it every week now that I moved out of Boulder, but I am looking forward to the first artisan fair of the year soon. This year's opening day was definitely packed, which was expected considering it was such a beautiful day out. I got oyster mushrooms from Hazel Dell, which is always my favorite, and stopped by to check out all of my other favorite vendors and even see some new ones. I'm a sucker for a good Farmer's Market and Boulder's version is magical. It's on Saturdays, which is the best day of the week, so what could be better? We were visiting from out of town so couldn't take much home with us, but we enjoyed some treats while there...including: breakfast burritos, chips & salsa, Vietnamese iced coffee, and some refreshing homemade popsicles. Stumbled upon our first farmers market in Denver. It was a long stretch of stalls. There were tons of booths selling starter plants, seasonal veggies, and other goods. I was impressed by all the starter plants, especially the heirloom tomatoes. What I was not impressed about was the overwhelming amount of vendors that were prepackaged items. I wish there were more homemade breads, jams, etc. It felt more like a whole foods and less of a local farmers market. The food trucks were over priced and we didn't find anything on this trip. Im looking forward to summer for all the summer veggies but probably wouldn't drive the hour to go here until then. read more

Nice time here - went with friends who along with myself were in town for a wedding reception. Not a lot of fresh produce, but given that I was there on the last Saturday in April, it was still too early for outdoor growth. Lots of prepared items though - I tried a fe wthings from various vendors and would have loved to have bought more - but wasn't up to taking it home on the plane. SO GLAD WE WERE ABLE TO STOP BY. We decided to visit on our way up to longmont and im so glad we did! Although we got there a little later (~6:30pm), there were still so many items available! The shops ranged from honey, hot sauces, meats (fresh and cured), coffee, pickles, kombucha, and of course deliciously ripe fruits and veggies!! We were so sad to not be able to purchase a lot because we were in a hotel and flying back in a couple days, but luckily many stands offered many samples and we got to try so many new foods! Everyone was super friendly and the prices were fairly reasonable. There is also a wide selection of food vendors in the beer garden with seating dor enjoying the food. We got the bahn mi and for $8 it was surprisingly large and filling. The thai iced tea was also delicious! With the live music performers, dancing babies, and tasty food, it was a great way to experience the local side of Boulder. read more

What you will find here: All sorts of people, of all ages, lots and lots of people. It can get very crowded. But you will see diversity, in both the sellers and the customers, more diversity than people would expect in Boulder because they just don't look around on a regular basis. Even the hippies, that are supposedly all gone are here. It's the melting pot you might not see in high end Pearl restaurants or at a frat party on the Hill. But it is still here in so many other places. Lots of good prepared food to eat in a picnic setting, from tamales, pupusas, Vietnamese crepes, soups, espresso, fruit smoothies and herbal drinks, authentic gelato, sandwiches, breads, salads, felafel, ice cream, cookies, pies and cakes, etc. And live music to eat by. Bedding plants, herb gardens, fresh flowers, organic goat meat, Colorado lamb, small batch salad dressings, preserved local fruits and veggies, fresh seasonal fruits and veggies, pastas, none of them cheap but all of them fresh and local. What you won't find here: Easy parking, Look around and be prepared to walk a few blocks. Use the bike path or the bus, Boulder High parking lot, and the city garages (free on the weekends.) Anything cheap, like I said before. Dogs. It is a pet free zone. It became a necessity a few years ago, for safety and cleanliness so if you haven't been in a while, make a plan. It is definitely worth the trip for a treat. I just generally prefer the sort of grocery stores or individual farm stands where I can get most of these same items, at my convenience. read more

Quality farmer's market, but challenging parking availability and nothing special to travel to more than a handful of times of coming from Denver! I visited the farmers on a Saturday at noon. There is little unpaid parking available, but there are some located right behind the farmers market. If non available there is $5 parking adjacent to the high school. The atmosphere of the farmers market is very enjoyable. There are many stands lined up next to an expansive grass area and music playing. We brought our dog, and unfortunately they do not allow pets in the market so I sat down in the grass while my partner shopped. There are ample vendors mostly related to fresh produce, cooked food, and different food items. We ended up purchasing some fresh produce, cheese, and food from a Vietnamese food stand. There aren't a ton of breakfast options there, only a pastry stand, but they could use a coffee stand. I recommend visiting the produce stand which allows you to fill a bag for $15! This is an awesome way to spend a morning / afternoon if you live in Boulder and worth visiting once or twice if coming from Denver! read more

A nice farmer's market with lots of odds and ends. Not only will you find your normal products, meats, dairy, etc., they also have crafts, jewelries, flowers, etc. It got very busy when we were there, especially with the parking, but we were lucky enough to find a spot nearby. The prices were affordable for the amount that you were getting. My favorite part was that they had local nonprofits have stands that allowed them to spread their mission and events going on that focused around health/nutrition, etc. I ended up not purchasing anything mainly because I was driving across the country that day, but I would have definitely made a purchase (or 5) if I lived in the area. read more

The words "farmers market" are a bit of a misnomer here, since many of the booths dont sell fruits of vegetables or other traditional farmers market items. This is more of place marketers gather to sell their bits and baubles, potions and elixirs, and other new aged remedies. Some booths are just used to "inform" the general public of their political or other agendas. (and some are quite aggressive in their persuasive tactics) Other than that you can find highly over priced prepared foods and other ready to eat items. So you wont really find much at this small over crowded den of moneychangers. read more

This market (smaller on Wednesday evenings) is special because many of its vendors offer original items. While I did find some of the basics to be pricer than my local California farmer's markets, the variety and quality of unique goods make this a must-do farmer's market. It's where I bought my "local souvenirs" and now I'm sharing Boulder's bounty in CA... We were so exited to go to the farmers market. We went on a Wednesday. We paid $10 to park. It was a lot smaller than I thought. We are Vietnamese egg rolls that were over cooked and tasted weird. No smoothies to be found anywhere. Veggies looked fresh but small compared to store bought. We bought a cinnamon loaf for 7$ which was good. No fresh meat any. Just one tent with frozen beef and sausages. We were very disappointed. Perhaps Saturday's are better. I will never return so I won't ever know. read more

After living in the Midwest where farmers' markets are huge, full of actual farmers selling their own produce at great prices, everything has paled in comparison. Compared to many Front Range "farmers' markets" that have far more booths of prepared food, handicrafts, pyramid schemes, and window replacement companies than farmers, Boulder has a better mix of vendors and products on offer. The prepared food stands do make for a good brunch or lunch stop, and they're on a separate plaza (often with live music), augmenting rather than distracting from the core offerings from actual farms. The one detractor however is the very high prices. For both wider selection and more reasonable prices, I prefer the markets at the Boulder County Fairgrounds or (when I'm on the opposite side of the metro) mainstreet Parker. read more

Marvelous Market The Boulder Farmers Market is an awesome destination to walk around & spend a few honest dollars. It is a fairly large farmers market with an awesome little gathering spot where you can sit and listen to local musicians while enjoying a tasty bite from one of the food vendors nearby. There is a wide variety of different items on sale from humble locally owned businesses to the larger & more popular names in Colorado. I love the selection of veggies and foods. There is even a vendor that sells different types of garlic. Yum! If your into garlic you can even grab a variety pack that has a few different types for you to try during your next cooking adventure! I'd say that this is a good stop for those wanting to stock their kitchen with fresh and tasty items. Pearl St. Mall is also walking distance away. So, take a few extra strides down there as well to really soak up the true Boulder experience. Walking is definitely the norm around here and we could all do a little more of that these days :) read more

The Boulder Farmers Market is beautiful. How lucky i was to stumble upon it on a Wednesday night. Organic produce and Free Range meat...would u like to purchase half a pig or the whole pig?? U can get that all here. It was fantastic seeing young college students with bundles of kale and colorful beets in hand. Young people do like veggies! Cute market with live music. I will admit that I thought there may be a bit more vendors here. There was a decent amount of produce vendors with organic produce (which I guess that I expected). There were approx 10-12 vendors selling prepared food and a covered seating area near the music to eat at. The free parking in the garages was a nice touch. I saw this special basket/cart advertised in Dwell Magazine that is supposed to be used at farmer's markets. It almost looks like a stroller, but instead has bags hanging from it, so that you can stock up on the local goodies and look modern and cool while doing it. The Boulder Creek Market is the type of deluxe outdoor market that you will see these kinds of expensive inventions. Why not look cool buying local and organic right? Almost like a statement of wealth... "I can afford to spend so much here that I need a giant modern cart to lead my way." But I guess I don't blame them, with fresh veggies, fruits, cheeses and breads, I try to stock up on what I can too, if I can get to the items... The crowds are sometimes hard to push through, but an early arrival at 8:01am will not only beat the crowds but offer the best picks. Not only is this a great place for local food shopping, but an exciting and creative date option, picnic stock stop, or most exciting of all... a nice way to check out the crunchy and yuppie singles... Buy them a bok choy and watch them melt... Strategy: Skip breakfast and head over to the market for samples and munchies... Buy a pastry and take a comfy seat on the grass and enjoy the day. I ADORE going to the farmer's market! There is nothing, NOTHING, like locally grown produce, flowers, and artisan breads, cheeses, wines and other gourmet treats. There are tons of samples to partake of as you stroll along checking out the produce and the various and sundry people who buy and sell at the market. If the samples don't fill you up there's a "food court" of savories just north of the Tea House. Buy a tamale and some dumplings and go lounge in the grass and people watch or read a book. There's also often musicians or dance groups performing near the Tea House. The Boulder Farmers' Market it definitely the best outdoor market I have been to in the state. They have a wide array of produce, not just a bunch of junky vendors selling soap and candles and shit you don't need. Yes, it's expensive. Bring a lot of cash. On my last visit I bought: 1/2 lb. hazel dell mushrooms- $6 1 pint of snap peas- $5 Snack size ziplock bag of mixed basil- $2.50 The mushrooms were so tasty. I sauteed them and served them with pasta. But after all the inedible parts were cut off, and the mushrooms were cooked down, there really wasn't much left. I saw everyone with snap peas and wanted them immediately. There were a few different vendors selling them which was nice, because there was competition to LOWER the prices. I don't think they were worth the $5. They weren't especially sweet, and were incredibly stringy. I can buy a huge bag of them from Costco and they are cheaper and sweeter. They basil was beautiful, and I thought of making pesto, and then I realized most of it was Thai Basil which is SUPER cheap at Asian markets (like $2 for a large bunch) and it's not what I wanted in my pesto. I loved that they had multiple vendors selling produce, so you could shop around for the best deal. There was also a couple of flower vendors, which I love. This is the only market I've been to in Colorado that reminds me of a coastal market. It's crowded, but it's not a bad thing because you don't have to awkwardly talk to the vendors and then feel guilt tripped into buying something you don't need or want. read more

The most amazing farmers market, I wish it was closer to me. No big deal, I'm totally willing to drive to experience to joys of the Boulder Farmers Market. It has a decent amount of fresh produce including beautiful multi colored beets, tomato's, onions, cilantro, 20 different varieties of garlic, and so on. I also enjoyed all the pre-made goods like coconut carmels, gourmet cheese, sausage, gluten free granola's of all different kinds. I loved talking to all the vendors and buying my picks of the day. Then comes the food stands with dumplings, Mod Market, and oh so many more. My friend recommended the dumplings and oh they were amazing. It's a huge farmers market and could easily take a couple hours to properly enjoy. The other sublime find was the Boulder Homeless cupcake stand, another recommendation and totally worth the drive out there. They make mini cupcakes and 6 of them are only $7 and truly delicious, and to boot the guys working the stand are super funny and friendly. I would drive out here every weekend and partake in the Farmers Market and why not make a day of it and do some shopping after wards, you're in the area so why not. read more

There is no way I would rather spend my Saturday morning than at a farmers' market. Before making the drive back down to Denver this morning, I decided to refuel at the Boulder market after a long night of diversion. We didn't quite know where it was but then we saw the multitude of tents and the even more blatant- multitude of people. Never before have I seen so many people crammed into a city block, but everyone was all smiles! After all, how can you not be when each tent is packed with food, samples, and generally pleasant vendors trying to sell their products at (as others have said) relatively high prices. Still, that doesn't stop you from walking around, taking in the ambiance, and about a meals worth of free samples. My gluten and sugar free friend was astounded by all the tasty delights available to her, while my cheese loving pal tried out all the different varieties, while I loved tasting all the different dips, tapenades, and salsas at my disposal! Then came time for the real meal from the food court area where I enjoyed a fresh smoothie and some dumplings from Sisters Pantry, one of my favorite outdoor food vendors in Colorado. That, along with the tamale man, cannot be beat. Since it's not quite time for all the fruit to be picked, I was a bit sad by the lack of fresh items that were available for purchase but know that this place is only going to get better as the summer goes on. We did get rather hot while walking around so dress accordingly and bring along some water if you're not looking to drop some money on a refreshing smoothie, tea, or coffee! read more

The sausage was cooked to order and the bun was a carb lovers dream for only $8.50 Then tried 3 empanadas for $12. Make sure to order the chimmiurri sauce because it will change you life! Stay away a from the spinach empanada....yuck. the spicy chicken would have been good if not so.dry . But the beef one was cash money! Especially once you add some chimmiurri sauce. Whoa!
