I recently visited this business and, while I truly appreciate the policies and precautions they have in place to keep customer accounts safe and protected, my experience left me feeling a bit discouraged. The staff seemed more focused on moving on to the next customer, than connecting with the people they're meant to help. It's clear they care about security and proper procedure, but the tone used felt condescending at times rather than reassuring. I made a phone call and in-person visit on behalf of an elderly relative, and both times I had a negative experience. The first time was with Becky and the second time was with an elderly worker. We didn't understand the policy on the phone call interaction, so I decided to visit in-person. After I received an explanation, I was told my relative must come in-person or call the help line. We didn't have success the first time, so I explained she is 94 and incapacitated. The worker replied, "my mother is 94 and she can still go places." I thought that was inappropriate and unnecessary. I wasn't trying to withdraw money, I was trying to assist my relative so she can see her account balance on her own. On both occasions, I was met with a very condescending dismissive attitude. You will find better customer service from an ICE agent, Wal-Mart employee or an inept HOA board. I completely understand that every company needs to uphold guidelines -- especially when it comes to customer protection -- but kindness and respect go a long way. A simple patient explanation can make all the difference. My hope is that management will emphasize not only accuracy and protection but also empathy and sincere communication. That balance would turn a frustrating moment into a trusting experience. Do better Becky, elderly worker & BDCU!!! read more

We have never had issues with this CU. Interest rates are always the best; there are always plenty of tellers to keep long lines moving within minutes; the best part is no counting coins just dump them into the machine! The only downside is no drive thru. read more

Today, I went into Boulder Dam credit union to cash a check. I had teller #8, and she never said hello . How are you anything to be polite. Obviously, she couldn't work the system as I was standing there a long time, without so much as an apology. This is the 2nd teller have been to that wasn't nice. The first time, I blew it off, but now I know why everyone can't stand the BDCU. So many people complain about it. If it wasn't for us customers, they wouldn't have a job. Hopefully, I won't have to go back too soon. I have another account at Wells Fargo, and they are so nice to me and everyone. read more

Do not bank here. They have a client that is scamming woman of their breast milk and saying they will pay them for it and than never pay after receiving the milk. I called the bank today and was just trying to understand and get some more information why the one check we finally did receive was stopped. I was met with a lot of resistance and was hung up on and was told to get a subpoena. If this bank is not in on the scam than they are just the rudest people I've ever talked to. I'm hoping this stops at least one person from Banking here. We need more honest Companies. Shame on you Boulder Dam read more

When I moved to Las Vegas in 1991 I worked at the dam. My boss recommend that I open an account at boulder dam credit union. I did and I've been with them ever since. No, they aren't open on the weekend but that has never been a problem for me. Every time I go there many windows are open and I never wait more than a few minutes. Every teller I have ever worked with has been professional and helpful. They even allow me to do some things by mail. Every request I have ever made has been satisfied. They are thorough and very helpful. I do have another bank in Las Vegas but it's not the same. Often I go in and as the only customer I wait 5 minutes for one of the 3 tellers to stop picking their noses to assist me. I love this bank. Thank you to all the employees that work there. read more

So I walk into Boulder dam credit union today to cash a check that was written to me by a business in Boulder city that has an account at the credit union I do not have a counter at the Boulder city credit union I use a different credit union but I wanted to cash this check and get the cash I didn't want to deposit in my account and they wouldn't cash my check it was written to me by one of their bank customers I don't know how you feel about that but if I am a customer of a credit union or bank and I write a check to somebody I would hope that that pink with cash that check for that person on my behalf very strange business practices. read more

I can't imagine why anyone in Boulder City would choose to conduct their banking anywhere else? The Dam Credit Union is so very civic minded and has amazing rates for their members. Staff is friendly and one may always see neighbors and friends when you're inside as well as outside the lobby. The only positive thing about this credit union is the interest rate on the savings accounts; however, that is if they don't steal your money. I keep a ledger and at the very least.. they steal $60 from me per year for NO REASON. As a single woman working a full-time job barely making $400 a week... I NEED THAT $60 TO EAT AND SURVIVE. The money is taken in increments of $20 hidden in between my car payment and insurance payments monthly.. I had MORE THAN ENOUGH FUNDS. But they proceeded to reject my payment this month MULTIPLE TIMES FOR NOOOOOO REASON. What an embarrassment for this establishment. I have been banking here for more than 12 years and that was a mistake. NEVER AGAIN. On top of that EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW WHO BANKS HERE HAS PROBLEMS. Every year for Christmas, they deny EVERYONE'S cards for online shopping if the charge appears 'out of state' which is EVERY TIME you buy ANYTHING online INCLUDING APPLE PAY which is charged in California. They see it as fraud, and family's struggling with only that ONE debit card are SCREWED until MONDAY @9AM (unless it's a holiday) because THEY HAVE NO 24-HOUR PHONE LINE. Lately I've been having continuous issues with the online banking option. Half the time when I log on, the website and/or app does not work. This is extremely inconvenient when I am trying to access my accounts and transfer money, see my statements, etc. I am seriously considering switching banks at this point. read more

My whole family has always used BDCU. I've had a savings account with them since I was a child in the Mika Mika Club. I now do my checking with them as well, and I am so glad I do. I was recently scammed for a pretty large amount of money. I am a young adult and this was my first time experiencing something so violating. Linda Eugster took care of me as if it was her own daughter who got scammed. It was very unlikely for me to get my money back in this situation, but she fought for me and made it happy. Linda and BDCU make me feel safe with my banking, and I would not go anywhere else. They treat you like family, and you can't find that anywhere else. read more

These people are awesome! Perhaps the other reviewers were turned-off by the small town feel of this credit union. To me, they are more like the "Cheers" bar "where everybody knows your name!" We are refinancing (I prefer to call it "firing' Bank of America.) and the process couldn't have been easier! Kim, loan consultant, has made the process simple and seamless. Also, we went to a info seminar on Social Security and it was a gas! The info was great but the food (Forge Social House) was even better! While the people at the bank are very nice, everything else about this place is terrible. I am not even sure why I still bank there. For example. Today is payday and my account says there are funds, however my card is being declined for insufficient funds. It is 4 am and I was supposed to be on the road traveling to a different state starting at 3am. If my money is in there, I shouldn't have to wait until a specified time to use it. It was my money the minute the clock hit 12am. This happens all the time, and of course if you have any issues you better make sure they are within their service hours, or you are SOL. While on another trip my card was blocked states away from home. It was after hours and on a Friday that I realized. Of course I couldn't call and resolve the problem because they didn't have anyone working. They need to find solution for this. So again, while the people are lovely, BDCU is a sorry excuse for a bank. Small town or not. read more
