I could see our kids building confidence, even as beginners to these martial arts. I know "jiu jitsu" and "kickboxing" might be intimidating terms, but we found Easton is a place people come to improve themselves and experience community. I'm glad it's right there in central Boulder. Great people. Support this small business! Five Stars!

People there are friendly and welcoming but still serious about getting better, they take their training seriously but it's a relaxed vibe. The instructors are wonderful, very professional yet personable. High level techniques being shared here. With soo much experience on the mats you have lots of different Jiu-Jitsu styles to choose from. The amenities are exceptional. Nice clean bathrooms, changing rooms and showers. The front desk people are always smiling and helpful when you come in the door. While I haven't gotten to train the striking classes as I primarily train Jiu-Jitsu , they look like a lot of fun and they are training very hard with solid technique. They have lots of quality mat spaces for grappling and striking as well as workout equipment. There are many classes for people to choose from. Giving the most flexibility I have ever seen at a gym. Add in the elevation and the location of a beautiful mountain city, this is one of the best places to train in the country. I highly recommend the gym.

Honestly, we'd go every day if we could. They both have a very positive influence in my son's life. Not only am I more fit now at age 40 then I was at age 30. It is fun, it is challenging and rewarding mentally, emotionally and physically. I started when I was in a pretty bad physical condition and with the support to Master Tran, his crew and all the other members I have become fit. For the first time in my life did I find a regular work out that keeps my attention and that is FUN! Time flies by. The constant encouragement during class from instructors and persons I team up with makes me feel great. I get a super work out, and I leave feeling less stressed and calm. I'm clearly a better mom and wife after I work out at Trans. I am the type who loves skiing, tennis and other similar activities that keeps my mind engaged - the Muay Thai kickboxing is wonderful. It's almost meditative. I first started when I was studying for the bar exam, and this was the only time during the week that my mind was not stressing or thinking about legal problems. I often get bored going to regular gyms, or feel frustrated because I can't do certain work out or dance moves. This is the first time in many many years that I found a sport so fun, engaging, supportive and challenging that I kept to a schedule of working out 2-3 times a week! And I always felt respected for whatever level I'm at. People who are super fit as well as people who haven't worked out in years are equally welcomed. I'm from Sweden and we always go by first name, so in the beginning it was a bit unusual for me to get used to the "mam" or "sir" or to bow. But I got used to it quickly and it's really a matter of showing respect. There isn't a lot of formalities otherwise. It's a wonderful fitness and martial arts studio. Come and try it!

As someone who has studied Karate for over 20 years, along with various other martial arts, I can…read moresay its a real pleasure to find this school. It is a gem in the rough - classes taught by an instructor who truly loves to teach, and is actually a good teacher (rather than only just a great martial artist). This school teaches Koryu Uchinadi which is old style Okinawan Karate. This is a functional style first, and includes martial arts training that covers self defense from empty hand standing, ground work (grappling) to traditional Okinawan weapons (like the staff). The instructor is a prior successful National competitor who has been training longer than I have - and successfully ran a commercial school back east for over 6 years (one of the head instructors). He moved out to Colorado for graduate work, and stayed. The cost of the class is the same price I paid for classes when I started studying Isshinryu Karate in 1985 on a military base in Virginia. The cost simply covers the very low cost of the space, and gas for the instructor - who really just teaches because he loves to teach and train. I have trained in Virginia, at University of Maryland, in upstate NY, Japan (Yokohama) and Denver before finding this school in Boulder. By far, this instructor has been the best teacher I have studied under. Other instructors have possibly had more knowledge, but often did not actually teach the classes, and you were taught by other senior students. If you have any interest in Martial Arts and your in Boulder or Denver, you owe it to yourself to check out this school first. I don't think you will be disappointed. Classes are Monday, Wednesday (6-7pm) and Saturday (9-10am)

I tend to be really good with my AR-15, but not so great with my G19. ( I personally am better with rifles) Jason has been very professional and patient with me through the years with our one on one at the range with my pistol training . when I started 5 years ago, I barely made the target, now I am in the body range and would have no problems , if I needed to defend myself. When I took his NRA Basic Pistol and CCW class, I felt comfortable in his class ( I am a female ) and all the information he provided me with. He is very thorough and makes sure you UNDERSTAND the LAWS and the FUNCTIONS OF YOUR FIREARM.. I took the same class three years prior with a gun club in Colorado Springs, spent four hours in that class, I was left confused and not sure if I wanted to carry a weapon. With Jason's 3 day, 10 hours a day class, I had the confidence I wanted and needed to carry my gun safely and I knew the Colorado Laws a lot better than before. I recommend all my friends to Jason for Firearms training, I recommend everyone to take his courses, I promise you, you wont be upset. Carrying a firearm in this day in age, is good. but you really need to be educated properly. If you're someone that was raised with Guns and your dad/grandpa /uncle or whomever taught you about Guns, great, but chances are they taught you some wrong information. Maybe you weren't raised with Guns and you want to learn more, awesome!! Jason will help you understand Guns in a way that is very comforting and he will even help you figure out what Gun would be best for you , he even goes to the gun shops with you. not many Instructors will do that . You really need to take a good course, anything less than 8 hours is a joke and if you pay anything less than $300 your setting yourself up for failure. In this case, you want to spend big, to get the best training ever, Firearms aren't something to take lightly and you shouldn't take the law lightly either. You can know all the ends and out of your weapon, but if you use it in self defense and don't know the law properly, you could get in deep doo doo. So, don't be an idiot with a firearm, instead be smart and take Jason's classes, get educated and keep going back for more training, you can NEVER HAVE ENOUGH TRAINING in my opinion . Jason, has lots of training skills and he has even been an instructor out at Front Sight in NV, which if you don't know what that is, its a very large Firearms training school for all sorts of shooters. Movie stars, Military, LE, and normal people like you and me.

His 3-day course is packed full of information that honestly changed my life and way of thinking. The first day is Colorado's required course in order to apply for a Concealed Carry Permit in Colorado; NRA Basic Pistol, which covers the mechanics of a handgun. As you will find with this required course, it doesn't even address anything about concealed carry. Because of this shortfall in Colorado's requirements, Mac developed his successive 2 additional days of his course for concealed carry; the laws specifically for Colorado, the mindset, tactical application/instruction, handgun options for concealed carry, types of holsters or carry options, accessories, drawing (presentation from the holster) and so much more.
