I spent a few months looking at the amazing photography on the Facebook page of Boudoir By J Anderson before I finally made the investment to do a shoot myself. The photography I saw was amazing capturing the beauty of human body mixed with lighting and beautiful posing! I still was nervous - worrying if I was going to be the exception and wouldn't photograph well and would be upset at myself for spending so much money. I can now say after my experience that the investment was well worth it! First, I signed up late 2020 with every intention of surprising my significant other with some sexy photos in 2021. Then we got pregnant quicker than I expected and when I contacted the studio I found out that maternity boudoir was a thing too! Amazing! I would have never thought to sign up while pregnant and I'm 100% recommending this experience! I did my photos at 24 weeks just as my belly was popping and this was my first time photographing my "new" body. I was able to come away with truly beautiful memories of feeling sexy and beautiful in my pregnant body. The images were gorgeous and are now a great Father's Day gift my the soon to be first time dad husband! At the time you sign up - you get plenty of information on what to wear, how to prepare, etc. You also have opportunity to personally speak with Jen to answer any other questions you may have. That relieves a lot of the up front stress for all of us who have never done boudoir photo shoots before! The day of the photo shoot you are given information on where to go and what to expect - again very simple! From the moment I walked into the studio - I felt comfortable. Jen has a way of making you feel like you've known her for years. Seriously - can we be best friends, Jen? I had an amazing hair and makeup session as well (who doesn't want pampering - especially while pregnant). Jen reviewed what I brought for my shoot and helped make decisions based on those items. She then lets you change and gives instructions on how she'll pose you and what you need to remember as you pose throughout the shoot. Then we hopped right in! She demonstrated everything and knows how to make the perfect spot happen. Just enjoy feeling like a rock star and she'll do the rest! After breaking for lunch you get to see images right away and work directly with Jen to make selections. So in my 50 years I have NEVER considered doing a boudoir photo shoot until it was suggested by my good friend last month. The first thing that came to my mind is not only am I way too old for that, I am completely out of shape and uncomfortable in photos fully clothed, how could I pose for photos with lingerie on!?! If you have ever thought about doing a boudoir shoot, you must do it with Jen! Jen and her team are phenomenal, they make you feel at ease throughout the entire day. She provides so much information prior to the actual appointment, from what to wear, where to shop, beauty appointment tips, she really has thought of everything to help you prepare for the experience. The studio is beautiful and comfortable with a variety of sets to choose from. She will guide you through the poses to help you accentuate the areas you like and help you 'hide' the parts you don't. Jen is amazing. She has a great demeanor and sets your mind at ease almost instantly. She's definitely my kind of people! The hair and makeup artist she used was awesome. I loved how she made my eyes look bolder and the rest of my face was more natural, but still fancy. Jen helped me choose my outfits, matched them with my shoes, and gave me other options from her closet in case I decided I didn't like my own clothes. She coached me with posing and demonstrated what she wanted me to do. Jen's work is so fantastic that I had trouble choosing my photos. Everything from the lighting, to different angles, to pulling the right facial expressions out of me. Everything was just perfect! You can tell she loves what she does! AWESOME JUST DO IT!! This was an amazing super chill experience. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable, safe, every step was explained and I never felt uncomfortable. Make up and hair was done beautifully always asking what you were comfortable with. You can wear what ever your comfortable with as little or as much as you need. I had my experience today. I went into it hoping to get some decent shots. I had seen the women in her gallery and knew I wouldn't look that good, but I was hoping for decent. Jen was amazing.
