A few days ago I was also at this Bottle King and had a question about the flavor of a product. The product caught my attention because of its very low calorie and carb content, yet it had a respectable percentage of alcohol. I was worried about it being spicy, so I asked staff what they thought. Multiple employees weighed in with their thoughts and were really helpful. Ultimately, their recommendation led me to my new favorite hard seltzer :-) Today I came back looking for my new favorite hard seltzer and was pretty disappointed when I couldn't find it. An employee noticed me searching around, and approached me to see if I needed help. Once I told him what I was seeking wasn't in its usual spot, he asked what I wanted and told he he would go check the back..... then he promptly returned with the seltzer! I thought that was really great customer service because I didn't even have to ask for help. I've totally given up on asking employees at places to "check the back" because often they tell you they'll check... but don't actually look for the product. That's not the case here though, the staff is actually helpful and friendly. I'll be returning to this specific Bottle King when I need alcohol from now on. Huge selection and great pricing! Make sure to get the free membership discount card. Though the store has a big box feel, it is well-organized and offers many great sale prices on wines. Vineyard direct and special value pricing really can save a lot of money here. If you see something you love at a great price, stock up as it may not be there in a few days (i.e. Wild Oak Red Zinfandel). Cheese selection is good, but make sure to check expiration dates! Enjoy the weekend tastings and food samples. Appreciate them adding a local vendor focus in the past year including locally made honey. Average selection of liquor and beer, but a great selection of wine...though I'm not a wine fan. Cheese counter was recently added, so you can now buy some cheese while there, and the place also has a humidor. This specific Bottle King is slowly working it's way towards being much more than a liquor store, but it's still not quite five-star material, mainly due to the lacking of niche liquors or wines. read more

Had I reviewed this place a while back I think 3 stars (maybe 4) is the max I could give. Whats changed is the help I get now. I am no wine expert, but most occassions call for it and everytime I ask for help they point me in the right direction and load me up with some info. Saturdays are the best with a wine tasting and their expert "wine guy" on hand. I think he is also the store manager. The overall selection is really great and most importantly I am always able to get cold beer. During the summer there is nothing worse than a warm 6 pack of your favorite suds. read more

I can't believe the cashier couldn't figure out that if you take one bottle out of a case of wine and scan it you could change the quantity to the amount in the case. Or she could have tried looking it up in their system but no, she had to call for someone and hold me up. I told her she could open the case but she needed to call a manager. Bottle King has a great liquor, wine and beer selection. I can always find several bottles of the type of wine I am looking for and at very reasonable prices. I never realized how extensive their beer selection was too. I am a great fan of craft beers and Bottle King has a wonderful selection of small breweries all the way up to the larger companies. There's always a lot people working so even when there are long lines, they go by quickly. read more

There has been a few times I've boughten very expired beer from here, I dont always assume to check, but i would say about 1/5 of the beer is expired there, I use to work at a liquor store, we threw out or gave to employe's any beer that was 3 months expired or longer. The last one i picked up was a rogue amber ale, expired 2 years ago and was awful tasting. Good prices but really bad employees. They roam the floor and almost dare you to run into them. Long checkout lines. Some of the people that work the registers are very nice but at least half of them are surly, bossy, and borderline nasty. I hate to lump them all into one group because some of them are good people but when you're running a retail store you shouldn't have half the people working for you be idiots. I've had enough.
