Wow, Bottle King has it all! Wine, beer, booze, cheese, chocolates, and more! And the prices are lower than at the boutique wine shop we bought from in the past (I'm sure Bottle King buys more volume, so I get it). We visited Christmas week looking for some California Sauvignon Blancs. The store is well organized and we easily found our way to that section. To our delight, we found two favorites: Dry Creek Vineyard and Grgich Hills! Love sharing local Sonoma County and Napa Country favorites with our friends and family in NJ. We bought a couple bottles of each. Bing bang boom. We were in and out quickly, and on our way! read more

I had an absolutely great time browsing the beer and craft selection at this spot. Even though the staff was clearly busy handling their delivery day, the atmosphere felt lively and well-organized. A gentleman, who I believe was named Ryan, came up to me and asked if I needed any help. He was super friendly and took the time to help me explore their excellent selection, which made the experience even better. Meanwhile, a younger kid was constantly restocking the shelves, keeping everything neat and fully stocked. The combination of attentive service despite the busy day and the impressive variety of products made me really happy with my visit. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Excellent choice of all types of alcoholic beverages at competitive prices. Delivered order as scheduled. Friendly and helpful on the phone. read more

If you're looking for your standard beer and liquor/spirits, Bottle King has it. Just like a regular liquor shop, some things they hold and some things they don't. They have a decent selection if you want to try something new and okay prices. The last time I picked something up, there weren't many employees around to ask a question. That didn't really bother me though, I just googled it. They have a huge parking lot and it's very bright when you enter. read more

Would it kill your employees to restock the beer section more often? Many times I've stopped here to pick up some beer (and not something rare and out of the ordinary) only to find the shelves empty. read more

Beer selection continues to shrink. Whole row of beers were removed for boxed wines. Beer used to be well organized by geographic region Worker said Pacific coast beers that were in that row were put in random other regions. Some region signs disappeared. Baffling way to run a store. read more

This new Bottle King location -- across the street from the old one -- has the most impressive selection of beer and wine in the area. Opened for business in early 2017 -- it has become my new favorite attitude adjustment retailer. Most of the yelp reviews of this BK speak to the old location (now a farmers market). The new one is considerably improved -- housed in a new, upscale building -- with greatly expanded floor and shelf space and parking dedicated solely to this store. The suds selection is encyclopedic and they stock warehouse quantity! I found various flavors of my favorite Icelandic brew here (Einstock) and a nice balance between domestic, micro brews and imports. Plenty of small batch NY and NJ breweries are represented -- as are makers from the left coast. Wines are logically organized by country and style -- most with ratings from experts that most folks would recognize -- and they stock considerable quantities by the case -- many at off price. A little thin on super premium bourbon, scotch and gin (Stew Leonard's in Paramus stocks a better selection of high end spirits) -- but plenty of the standard suspects can be found here -- in all sorts of sizes. The good news is they can add your preference to their stock -- just let the manager know. If you are last minute shopping and need some munchies for a party -- their cheese selection (with all the accoutrements) is convenient and should satisfy most palates. And since imbibing goes hand in glove with cigar smoke for many -- BK even sports a modestly sized standing humidor with a decent selection of cigars. None of the super premium smokes -- but the old reliables like Macanudo and Avo look reasonably fresh. But If you really must have great smokes -- the Tobacco Shop of Ridgewood (with its full Davidoff line and lounge) is a few minutes drive away -- and worth the extra effort. Top Tip: If you become a BK member (free) you get additional discounts that can add up to some serious cash -- especially if your tastes run towards the high end or greater quantities. read more

I wanted to take the time to call out the amazing leadership of your district manager Jeff Wertalik. I was second in line for your bottle signing with the stars of "Breaking Bad". Over a thousand people showed up. It could have been a very disorganized, chaotic event.... it was not. I watched Jeff manage not only the great employees of Bottle King, but the massive crowd. He did it with absolute excellence, grace, and ultimately like a consummate professional. I managed a high end grocery store outside of DC for over 18 years, and I was beyond impressed and thankful for the leadership Jeff provided during this popular event. Jeff's demeanor never changed, even when things became extremely stressful. He had a smile on his face and took on all of the challenges presented to him. His kindness and management skills are something that your organization should be thankful for. He is incredible at what he does. so often people take the time to complain. I wanted to take the time to say how impressed and thankful i was for the experience given by Jeff and team. I drove 5 hours away for this event, and it was amazing. thank you Jeff and Bottle King team! you guys are the best. read more

Bottle King - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Glen Rock, New Jersey

These stores used to be great. The reason being, they sold craft beer by the case. Then out of nowhere they will only sell it by the six pack which is unfortunate and more expensive. When I do shop there occasionally, I don't purchase as much as I used to. I have also noticed the beer section gradually getting smaller. Do you think this is due to cause and effect? Go to Total Wine in River Edge. Better selection and better prices. read more

How can you not give "Bottle King" five stars. They sell beer, wine, cheese, bread and booze. Did I say the five food groups. I have been to a few Bottle King stores over the years and they are all set up the same. Only difference is that some stores are bigger than others. There is a huge selection of beers. National brands, local brews, craft, micro, etc. Price points very fair. You like wine. This is where Bottle King does an awesome job. There are rows and rows of wine. There is a discount for vineyard wines for sale. Buy 12, receive 15% off. Nice. Join their rewards club and receive discounts on selected items. It seems every thing has a discounts. I guest this is why I love Bottle King. Discount, discount and discount. Huge parking lot. Service friendly. Very clean and organize. I will always be a loyal customer. I like a deal. I like to save money. read more

I'm someone who on occasion will stop at a store just to browse the beer department "so I know". Well, I know about this store and it's one of the best I've been to. I always find something there no-one else has, including Total Wine. I'm assuming the same holds true for their wine selections. Bottom line is I've never left this store unhappy. Even when they were located across the street. If you're a beer person, check it out. read more

AVOID THIS STORE ,WHILE THE CORONA EMERGENCY IS ON I'm a loyal customer of this store, but their pickup procedure in this emergency is extremely poorly organized and executed , 24-48 hours turnaround is what one of their employee is saying to the customers, while we are congregating by the door!!! One customer complained that other order was cancelled with no feedback They need to revamp this system before the Easter holiday comes up The rating should be zero read more

Large Store Plenty Of Parking Good Wine Selection I'm in this area often so I frequent this store due to convenience. Prices are reasonable, selection is all around good. They have a great little specialty foods section that offers a nice selection of cheeses. There appears to be a soccer league that holds it's games in the back of the parking lot read more

This place is fantastic! I used to frequent the one in Ramsey (Rte 17) when I lived in Allendale. I now live in Wyckoff and the Glen Rock Bottle King is closer. They used to be across the street a few years ago, and they were good there. But the new place is even better! Parking is better, the store is larger with more room. There is great cheese and bread. And the prices are about the best you can get around here. I highly recommend Bottle King! read more

Normally I'm not a fan of chain stores. I would prefer to give my money to a local guy or a small business. Every once in a while, however, the big guy is so much better, easier and cheaper that I use them over everyone else. Bottle King is that big guy. Their selection of wines and liquor is unsurpassed and arranged in a logical way so it's easy to find something specific. Prices are exceptional and substantially lower than their competitors. Beer selection is also great although, in interest of full disclosure, I don't really buy much beer. They also have quite a nice gourmet food and cheese department. Usually where chains drop the ball is service. Not so with Bottle King. Their staff is both knowledgeable and friendly, always more than willing to help in any way they can. I don't buy much in the way of alcohol but when I do, I go to Bottle King in Glen Rock. I really see no compelling reason to shop elsewhere. read more

Bright, clean, well stocked and always fully staffed with helpful people who occasionally know their stuff. Its a large store with an extensive inventory from non alcoholic wine to high end cognac. Craft beers to Budweiser. Albarinos to Zinfadels. Bottle King has what you are looking for in a liquor store and more. read more

Bottle King is definitely a local favorite in my neck of the woods. Been coming here since high school. Well, the people who were buying for me in high school went there. There is a large selection at great prices (even better prices if you are a club member or have a good relationship with a club member who will hook you up). The sell craft beers, liquor, wines from all around the world. I love that the sections are well labeled and they even have descriptions and suggestions within each section. In addition to wine they have a refrigerated food pairing section with things like cheese, chocolate, and Italian meats to compliment your wine. I would say there is enough of a selection to make a cheeseboard but not enough to come off as a cheese aficionado with your guests. They also carry gadgets like cool glasses and mugs, pourers, stirrers, drink making sets, etc. Just got myself an aerator and I cant wait to test it out. read more

I live in North Carolina but hosted a bridal shower in Midland Park. I wanted prosecco splits with ribbons and custom card as favors so called ahead to Bottle King to figure out what kind of sparkling wine and to order to insure they had enough for when I came up to NJ. Chris, from Bottle King was awesome to work with. The prosecco, La Luca was delicious and the favors were a big hit. Chris also helped me to select wines for a party of more than 40 people. He was spot on! Thanks for helping and contributing to making the shower a success. read more

This Bottle King had the Cape May beer that I wanted to buy. However, This evening, a young male cashier talked to me (I'm a Customer) rudely, assumingly, and abruptly told me that I should have known all the prices for all their items were already marked down next to them as their lowest prices. Years ago, items' lowest costs were not always shown except once when a customer like myself went to the cashier to find out. I just didn't like on how this young male cashier talked to me in his assuming and already decided tone in. I wonder if this particular young male cashier talks to all customers in the same way. He was surprised that I gave him advise. Maybe his management should give him advice about his assumptions when talking to customers. read more

From my tips The liquor store in Ridgewood has a better craft beer selection but this place is just a bit less pricy. Interestinly, wine selection is very good here and not too pricy. Not much to say, just a solid wine/beer place in our neighborhood read more

Today we went to pick up supplies But were turned away by 2 friendly but unmasked workers stating we had to order online but there is a 24 to 48 hour wait. Looked at my boyfriend and said, "I know where to go". We went to shop rite liquors in fair lawn and the 2 workers there were masked and helpful. I'm an ER nurse and understand precautions. Good luck with your business. We won't be back. read more

I am never coming back here. The cashier had such an attitude because we misread one of the sale signs. She told the next customer she couldn't take him because she "can't void ALLL" our items...there were 3. She did end up voiding them a couple seconds later because she was so impatient. She bossed around the guy behind us again when he was trying to load his wine bottles on the counter because we wouldn't be able to swipe our card with them in the way..wah wah wahh. She was exasperated, shaking her head at us the whole time. So annoying. We actually drove out of our way to get here because the store in our town has such a limited selection. Looks like we will have to find somewhere else to shop. This girl needs to lighten up. Today, I submitted my final paper for my grad program and I'm not gonna let her bad attitude ruin my celebration! Happy Friday the 13th...& Santacon tomorrow!!! read more

I come here only when I am in the area and when its the most convenient. This is your average liquor store with a few different additions then most. One thing I really enjoyed was that they have a small cheese and cured meat section. At the time I was picking up a bottle of wine for a girls night and the cheese and cured meats were a great addition to the night. One thing that I will say is that they do get really busy and could use more people on the registers. read more

Once upon a time, two friends and I drove 4 hours from Westerly, Rhode Island, to Glen Rock, New Jersey so that I could purchase my favorite beer of all time. I lived in Dallas, Texas, for 8 years, and the most amazing discovery I made was Shiner Bock. Unfortunately Shiner doesn't distribute beyond New Jersey, so if I want Shiner I have to take a road trip. It's definitely worth it! As far as the store goes, it was a great experience. There were plenty of people available to help, and a great amount of beer, wine and liquor to choose from. They do a shopper savings card program similar to Stop & Shop, but since I wasn't from the area they just put a card through for me. The prices are pretty decent too. They have a selection of snacks and mixers as well. ADDED BONUS: They also carry Yuengling Lager, which is my second favorite beer, and again, not distributed beyond New Jersey. read more

"Change of address" is a concept not grasped by management -- after having to fill out a small slip containing my address, name, DOB, etc., I was turned away because my license address does not match the one I marked on the slip. Here are some things for management to consider: A) People move and don't update their licenses immediately B) When someone can recite their current and license addresses from memory, in that order, and produce other matching forms of ID, they may be sincere rather than desperate (manager said "you only had one shot to get it right") C) "Try again tomorrow" won't do you or someone underage any good I will say, great selection. Doesn't hurt being the only seller in the immediate area. read more

Great selection of craft beers.... They had one bottle of dogfish 120 left... Amazing

Great prices and nice layout. There's always a spot in the parking lot and I've had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. I do wish the place were a little more small-town, but beggers can't be choosers. And the selection really can't be beat. read more

This store has a great selection of wine, beer, liquor, and gourmet snacks. They have been carrying more microbrews also which I'm very happy about. Get their club card to save more money. The employees who work on the floor are nice and helpful. The employees at the register are not nice and seem like they don't want to be there. The parking lot is also awful, but it's mainly because people are too impatient. It's a good store to get wine, beer, and liquor at great prices. read more

Fabulous selection and prices. Join the club and buy the ninety point and over wines. Good craft beer selection. Process are always reasonable read more

Does it have everything and anything that you're looking for? No. Do they still have a great selection, as well as the best prices around for what they do carry. Yeah, significantly, even better priced than Shoprite Liquors which is pretty good. ...gawd, I'm turning into a "question talker" in this review. ANYwhose, highly recommended. Looked up a particular bottle of Nectar of the Emerald Isle that I wanted, found it was listed cheapest at this particular Bottle King location which wasn't that much further than another Bottle King, so I figured I would reward the place that had the lowest posted price. Well, I showed up and it rewarded me, the bottle was on sale for even less than posted online. Tempted to give it 5 stars, but that would be for such mythical places where I walk in and not only do they have the best prices around even compared to online stores, but they also have anything and everything my heart desires. However, a very enthusiastic 4 stars to this place. Highly recommended. read more

My wife called looking for a specific bottle of champagne. Guy said they had it and confirmed it was on sale. I went to pick it up one hour after the phone call and they said no longer on sale. BRAD was not only rude to me, but to the cashier that was asking him about it also. Not only would he not honor the sale price (was even listed on the website, showed him on my phone), he was beligerant. Awful customer service. Went to SuperCellars in Ridgewood and bought it there for same price. read more

Good selection of basically everything. The new location across the street is way better than the old place. They have a great cheese section too with free samples. However, it's definitely a bit pricey especially if you don't have a Bottle King card. They're free so get one! read more

Bottle freaking king. Wines from all over. Wide selection of craft beers. Alcohol mecca, come my people.

Huge selection of liquors, wines, beers, mixers, even snacks to pair them with (such as meats and cheeses). There's always enough staff members manning the cash registers that I don't think I've ever waited more than a minute to check out. Theres also a huge parking lot so parking is no issue at all. Adding in the fact that the prices are very reasonable, this bottle king is everything you could reasonably expect from a liquor store. I guess the only downsides are having to sign the electronic pad to confirm your ID or something (never seen that before, don't really care) and trying to make a left out of the parking lot can be difficult. Not really their fault. 5 stars from me read more

Five stars for beer!!! No but seriously. Good collection. Friendly staff. And the best of prices. After all it is called discount liquors.

Thanks to the Bottle King!!! This is how I survive living in Joisey with all the Snookie wannabes!

Bottle King offers a variety of specialty items for just about any occasion. It's not that there's a lot of unique merchandise but that it's all under one roof and at pretty decent prices. We've been in for a number of different kinds of beer - and while we've been at it, we've also picked up salsa, cheese, chips and a whole lot of other stuff. Good wine selections too, although the beer section is the real standout. Prices are reasonable, parking is plentiful and service is quick. I'll certainly be back. read more

One stop shopping to prepare for guests. Wine, cheese, crackers, dips, beer, and assorted spirits. Only downside is the prices are good only if you have their savings card. No fee for the card, but you have to give out your info, or somebody's info anyway. read more

Great selection of wine and beer. Reasonably priced liquor/beer. However look elsewhere for kegs because they are EXPENSIVE.
