Service was quick and when I went 4 pm on a Saturday it wasn't too busy. I do like the styling and general feel of the location even if it is a bit hard to find. But well worth a visit.

I've been a customer here for years, ever since I moved to Aurora, so it's disappointing to say…read morethat things have really gone downhill over the past 6 months or so. They still offer tastings, which is nice, but the overall selection has become noticeably worse. At one point, most of the coolers were completely empty. They also used to carry WeldWerks, and they still have a sign advertising it, but after trying to find it several times over the past few months, I finally asked the cashier. She seemed completely unaware of what I was talking about, even after I showed her the sign. The biggest issue came recently when I purchased some Jack Daniel's shooters, which I've bought at this location many times. When I got home and checked my banking app, I noticed the total was significantly higher than usual. I initially assumed something had been double-scanned, so I called to ask about it. I was told the shooters had gone from $1.99 to $2.99 (a 50% increase) and that Jack Daniel's had "raised the price." I checked other liquor stores and did a quick search afterward, and that explanation did not appear to be accurate. Other stores are still selling the same shooters for $1.99. I really hate leaving a negative review because I've been coming here for years, but between the increasingly empty inventory, employees seeming unaware of products the store is advertising, and questionable pricing explanations, I'm honestly left wondering what is going on with this business. It feels like something has changed significantly, and unfortunately, it's not for the better.

The guys that took over the store in 2005 are very knowledgeable of there products and don't try to sell you something just because it is expensive. I love that they call me by name (not that I go there all the time. hehe) I like the fact that I can describe what I am looking for whether it be wine, beer, or liquor and one of the staff can give me recommendations. Not just one recommendation but two or three. Everything they have ever recommended to me has been very tasty. I buy wine on a regular basis for gifts and I like knowing my gift is going to be enjoyed not frowned upon. I'm sure I could probably find better prices at a chain, but I would rather my money go to a locally owned business with a stand up staff.

For the particular brand of tequila I was in for, however, the store only carried the Blanco (silver) one so no Reposado and/or Anejo. I, however, was able to walk away with its tequila-based coffee liqueur (Cantera Negra Cafe) which I had always wanted to try. The employees (pretty much all of them) were very professional and courteous for my shopping needs. The store is a good size. Very organized where things aren't cramped into the space. Very clean indeed. On Thursday and Saturday, they do tastings (4-7pm on Thursdays and 3-6pm on Saturdays); the designated tasting area is on the north end of the shop. You can park in the Whole Foods garage (there is a door to it inside the shop; this is convenient especially when the weather is bad with rain or show.) I don't come to this part of town very often but it's nice to know that a good liquor store with high-end feel exists right in the heart of Belmar shopping area.
